EPS용 SRM의 효율향상 설계와 특성해석 (Design of Efficiency Improvement and Characteristics Analysis of SRM for EPS Application)

  • This paper presents a design and characteristics analysis of a SRM drive for EPS application. A rack mounted EPS system is considered in this paper. A conventional driving room space and mechanical structure are suggested in design stage. In the restricted design conditions, motor parameters are determined for sufficient torque and speed. For the smooth torque generation and simple circuit of power system, 12/8 motor drive is considered. With FEM and magnetic circuit analysis, designed motor is simulated to meet the requirement of specifications. Effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by the manufactured prototype motor drive tests.

  • A novel torque ripple reduction scheme of single-phase SRM with high power factor is presented. The proposed SRM drive has one additional active switches in the conventional asymmetric inverter. In order to get a higher power factor, the source current is controlled sinusoidal, And additional excitation current is added from charge capacitor due to torque ripple reduction. The switching period of source and charged voltage is controlled properly to get unity power factor and torque ripple reduction. The characteristics and validity of the proposed scheme is discussed with some simulation results.

Design and Analysis of Hybrid Stator Bearingless SRM

  • This paper presents a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor (BLSRM) with decoupled torque and suspending stator poles. BLSRM is different from conventional bearingless switched reluctance motors (SRMs) because its suspending poles are separated from the torque poles. Perpendicularly placed suspending poles are designed to produce a continuous radial force to suspend the rotor. Due to the independent suspending and torque poles, BLSRM produces a suspending force with excellent linearity according to the rotor position and independent characteristics of the torque current. The air-gap is easier to control than in conventional SRMs with their linear and independent characteristics. Furthermore, to verify the proposed structure, a mathematical model for the suspending force is derived. Finite element analysis is also employed to compare BLSRM and conventional SRMs expressions of suspending force. A prototype motoris designed and manufactured to verify the effectiveness of the proposed bearingless structure.

  • 본 논문에서는 SRM의 토크리플 억제를 위하여 PWM(Pulse width modulation)과 직접토크제어(DITC, Direct Instantaneous Torque Control) 방식의 결합에 의한 제어방식을 제안하였다. 기존의 직접토크제어와 달리, 제안된 방식은 한 샘플링 구간 내에서 하나 또는 두 개의 스위칭 모드로 동작하며, 스위칭 패턴의 폭은 토크 오차와 직접 토크제어 방식의 제어규칙에 따라 제어된다. 또한 실제 스위치의 제어폭이 토크 오차에 따라 가변적으로 제어됨으로써, 같은 샘플링 주기에서 기존의 직접토크제어 방식에 비하여 토크리플을 크게 억제할 수 있으며, 토크 연산의 샘플링 주기를 크게 할 수도 있는 장점이 있다. 간단한 제어규칙과 PWM 듀티비의 계산으로 복잡한 연산이 요구되지 않으므로 저가의 마이크로 프로세서에 의해 구현이 가능하다. 제안된 방식은 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

EPLD 로직구현을 통한 델타변조기법에 의한 스위치드 리럭턴스 전동기의 전류제어 (Current Control of Switched Reluctance Motor with Delta Modulation Method on EPLD Logic Design)

  • The conventional drive system of SRM has a current sensor per each phase. The torque demand signal generated by the outer control loop is translated into individual current reference signal for each phase. The torque is controlled by regulating these currents. Using the SRM in a variable-speed control, the phase currents are generally regulated to achieve a square wave. The simplest form of current regulation uses fixed frequency delta modulation of the phase voltages. The aim of this paper is to regulate 3-phases current of SRM by only single current sensor using delta modulation with digital chip. In this paper, the asymmetric bridge converter which is able to control independently phases and be excited simultaneously is used as the driver system for 6/4 poles SRM. And the current sensor is replaced 3 sensors of each phase with only one on bus line of converter so as to detect current of every phase. The proposed delta modulation technique has been implemented in a simple digital logic circuit using EPLD(Electrically Programmable Logic Device). This method is verified through simulation and experiment results.

  • A simple construction and low cost, fault tolerant power electronic drive has made the switched reluctance drive a strong contender for many applications. But, switched reluctance drive does exhibit higher levels of vibration and acoustic noise than that of most competing drives. The main source of vibration in the switched reluctance drive is generated by rapid change of radial magnetic force when phase current is extinguished during commutation action. In this paper,2 excitation method is proposed and compared to reduce vibration and acoustic noise of the switched reluctance drive. The excitation strategies considered this research are 1-phase, 2-phase and hybrid excitation method. 1-phase method is a conventional and 2-phase method is excited 2 phases simultaneously. The hybrid excitation has 2-phase excitation by long dwell angle as well as conventional 1-phase excitation. The vibration and acoustic noise are compared and tested. Suggested 2-phase and hybrid strategies reduce acoustic noise because the scheme reduces abrupt change of excitation level by distributed and balanced excitation.

The parameters which are senstive to the performance are examined and determined by using evolutionary computations and commercial CAD program to have a good performance. Design method simulated is compared with conventional procedure.

  • The new converter topology using full bridge inverter for the switched reluctance motor drives is proposed. The proposed SRM drives are supplied by the pulse voltage source, while the conventional drives are supplied by dc voltage source. Proposed converter maintains the characteristics of asymmetric bridge converter and has advanced characteristics.

  • In this paper, the 2-phase excitation method is proposed to reduce vibration and noise. This excitation method produces reluctance torque by mutual action between two phases as well as conventional-reluctance torque due to two phases excitation at a time. The vibration and acoustic noise is reduced thought the sequential phase excitation. This is because that the scheme reduces abrupt change of excitation level by distributed. balanced excitation.
