  • The Controller Area Network (CAN) is being widely used in real-time control applications such as automobiles, aircraft, and automated factories. Unfortunately, CAN, in its current form, is not able to either share out the system bandwidth among the different devices fairly or to grant an upper bound on the transmission times experienced by the nodes connected to the communication medium as it happens, for instance, in the token-based networks. In this paper, we present the message scheduling for CAN, based on the distributed control scheme to integrate actuators and sensors in a humanoid robot. Besides introducing the new algorithm, this paper also presents some performance figures obtained using a specially developed software simulator, while the behavior of the new algorithm is compared with the traditional CAN systems, in order to see how effective they are.

  • In the case of construction equipment, internal wiring has a very complicated structure such as an electrical wiring and hydraulic equipments. Because of these complex wiring, a lot of time is spent on maintenance and equipment manufacturing. In this paper, we design and implementation of the high-reliability PLC(Power Line Communication) -CAN(Controller Area Network) communication module to reduce electrical wiring of the construction equipment.

  • Recent social needs for promoting traffic safety increased and the demand social security in economic, increasing the demand for environmentally friendly rail transport. In particular, when train express such as to secure reliability KTX(Korea Train eXpress) from potential disaster(fire) in the train operation caused by the train express running has been very important. Railroad fire extinguishing system is operated to fire exploding before reaching the flashing point more important than early to quickly detect because of CAN(Controller Area Network) communication to fire suppression and fire receiver, interface, fire fighting equipment from HMI((Human Machine Interface) and fire high-performance to research and development for intelligent composite fire receiver is required.

이런 제어 방식으로 CAN(Controller Area Network)통신이 개발되었다.

  • This paper presents an idea of implementation of many semiconductor equipments. The idea is a new design methodology of the Networked Control Systems (NCSs) using CAN (Controller Area Network) will be discussed. The Distributed Control Systems (DCSs) is very useful to control multiple systems that have a distance to communicate. The CAN protocol is very strong to noise, also provides the user with many powerful functionality. Only one communication line (BUS) is used, so that a control and a maintenance of those systems are very easy. This paper is concerned with the speed control of multiple DC motors using CAN Protocol. Experimental systems are made to validate effectiveness of the systems. The results of the experiment show that the NCSs using CAN has excellency in real time control.

  • This paper proposes a microcode-based neural network accelerator controller for artificial intelligence accelerators that can be reconstructed using a programmable architecture and provide the advantages of low-power and ultra-small chip size. In order for the target accelerator to support various neural network models, the neural network model can be converted into microcode through microcode compiler and mounted on accelerator to control the operators of the accelerator such as datapath and memory access. While the proposed controller and accelerator can run various CNN models, in this paper, we tested them using the YOLOv2-Tiny CNN model. Using a system clock of 200 MHz, the Controller and accelerator achieved an inference time of 137.9 ms/image for VOC 2012 dataset to detect object, 99.5ms/image for mask detection dataset to detect wearing mask. When implementing an accelerator equipped with the proposed controller as a silicon chip, the gate count is 618,388, which corresponds to 65.5% reduction in chip area compared with an accelerator employing a CPU-based controller (RISC-V).

  • As SDN devices and systems hit the market, security in SDN must be raised on the agenda. SDN has become an interesting area in both academics and industry. SDN promises many benefits which attract many IT managers and Leading IT companies which motivates them to switch to SDN. Over the last three decades, network attacks becoming more sophisticated and complex to detect. The goal is to study how traffic information can be extracted from an SDN controller and open virtual switches (OVS) using SDN mechanisms. The testbed environment is created using the RYU controller and Mininet. The extracted information is further used to detect these attacks efficiently using a machine learning approach. To use the Machine learning approach, a dataset is required. Currently, a public SDN based dataset is not available. In this paper, SDN based dataset is created which include legitimate and non-legitimate traffic. Classification is divided into two categories: binary and multiclass classification. Traffic has been classified with or without dimension reduction techniques like PCA and LDA. Our approach provides 98.58% of accuracy using a random forest algorithm.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear adaptive damping controller based on radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), which can infinitely approximate to nonlinear system, is proposed for thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC). The proposed TCSC adaptive damping controller can not only have the characteristics of the conventional PID, but adjust the parameters of PID controller online using identified Jacobian information from RBFNN. Hence, it has strong adaptability to the variation of the system operating condition. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is tested on a two-machine five-bus power system and a four-machine two-area power system under different operating conditions in comparison with the lead-lag damping controller tuned by evolutionary algorithm (EA). Simulation results show that the proposed damping controller achieves good robust performance for damping the low frequency oscillations under different operating conditions and is superior to the lead-lag damping controller tuned by EA.
