단상유도전동기 기동특성 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Starting Characteristics for Single Phase Induction Motor)

  • The most common for starting a single phase induction motor is to install a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch in series with the auxiliary winding. Though this method is simple, life of single phase induction motor is short because of malfunction of a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch and efficiency improvement has limitation. In this paper, the starting characteristics of SPIM is improved by voltage and phase control strategy of auxiliary winding in removing a starting condenser and a centrifugal switch. Finally, the excellent starting performance of SPIM is shown through simulation and experimental results.

  • Most of the automotive electronic systems are equipped with control software. ISO 26262 standard has been published to prevent unreasonable risk due to E/E system malfunction. And many automotive companies apply ISO 26262 for safe series product. In ISO 26262 standard, the product quality improves through deductive and inductive safety analysis in all processes including system and software development phase. However, there are few studies on software safety analysis than systems. In the paper, we study the software FMEA(Failure Mode Effect Analysis) technique for product quality of vehicular embedded software. And we propose an effective guideline of software FMEA as EPB industrial practice.

  • This study is carried out to make clear the reason of occurrence of sudden acceleration incident of AT vehicle. The stepping motor is used to control the engine speed at idle by compensating the volume of air. By the way it's valve is contaminated by blow-by gas, deposit and back fire etc. This contamination could occur the load of motor at low temperature. This plays an important role in damaging the motor's coil with the motor's performance interfered. If it's coil is damaged the ISC could malfunction. If these phenomena occur, the speed of engine may increase or the engine may stall with hunting.

  • Launch vehicles and satellites experience severe vibration and pyroshock during the flight phase. These severe dynamic loading could result in the malfunction of electric devices which equipped in the launch vehicle and satellite. In this paper, mesh washer isolators are applied to attenuate these severe shock and vibration and isolation performances are enhanced by applying pseudoelasitic SMA wire material. Through random vibration and ground pyroshock tests, outstanding isolation performances are studied. Especially, comparison of isolation performances due to the change of pre-compressive displacement of mesh washer itself are suggested and applicablity to the adaptive vibration control are confirmed.

  • As the railway transportation is getting faster and its operation speed has increased rapidly, its signal control has been complicated. For real time signal processing it is very important to prohibit any critical error from causing the system to malfunction. Therefore, handling complicated signals effectively while maintaining fault-tolerance capability is highly expected in modern railway transportation industry. In this paper, we suggest an SoC (Sytem-on-Chip) design method to integrate these complicated signal controlling mechanism with fault tolerant capability in a single chip. We propose an SoC solution which contains a high performance 32-bit embedded processor, digital filters and a PWM unit inside a single chip to implement ATO's, ATC's, ATP's and ATS's digital signal-processing units. We achieve an enhanced reliability against the calculation error by adding fault tolerance features to ensure the stability of each module.

홀센서를 이용한 파워 윈도우용 안티핀치 시스템 (Anti-Pinch System for Power Window by Using Hall Sensor)

  • Recently the power window system is widely used in automobiles to increase convenience of passengers and drivers. However some accidents or injuries have been caused by malfunction or misusage of the system. Therefore safety regulations of the system to cope up with these accidents have been strengthened gradually in many countries. Especially in America, since 2005, all vehicles which had power window system should be contented with FMVSS 118-S5 regulations. We suggest very low-cost anti-pinch window control system satisfying the regulation in this paper. Hall sensors are used and installed around a motor rotor with ring magnet to detect motor speed for anti-pinch. The optimum number of hall sensor and location angel of them are mainly investigated to get sufficient speed resolution for anti-pinch. Through some experiments, the validity of the suggested system was verified to satisfy the regulation.

  • To meet the demand increasing passengers in railway vehicles, railway transportation service companies are increasing the numbers of cars per train-set. Two solutions, Variable train-set formations and Multiple train-set operation, are common way to increase the transportation capability. These kind of long distance train-set can effect train-set command and control system, and sometimes the digital signals using train line from master cabin can not reach to the systems located the other extremity slave car. This is so called Voltage Drop. This phenomenon is originated from the electrical power consumption and electrical cable resistance, and cause to the equipments or cars located end of the electrical cable way, malfunction or abnormal operations. This voltage drop happens not only in train lines but also Battery Power Lines. The purpose of this investigation is to design high reliability railway vehicles by clarifying the possibility of happening these events case by case, by analyzing the reasons, and finally by finding the best solutions.

틸팅차량 틸팅제어장치 연구 (The Study of Tilting Control System for Tilting Vehicle)

  • Tilting trains are now an established feature of railway operations throughout the world. For intercity traffic, tilt provides operators with increasing speeds, and therefore enhanced competitiveness, on existing routes where insufficient traffic or a lack of funds precludes the construction of a dedicated new high-speed railway. Appling the tilting train, we can expect 30% of speed up on existing lines, but the stability of the electric current would be low because of tilting the train. Also, the spark between the catenary and pantagraph cause environmental problems such as noise, radio wave malfunction. Therefore, the tilting on pantagraph for the power suppling device is very essential for stable electric power supply.

  • The effect of high irradiation on inspection systems in a nuclear power plant can be severe, especially to electronic components such as control hoards. The effect may lead to a critical malfunction or trouble to a underwater robot for inspection and maintenance of nuclear reactor. However, if information on the total accumulated dose on the sensitive parts of the robot is available, a prediction of robot's behavior in radiation environments becomes possible. To know how much radiation the robot has encountered, a dosimeter to measure the total accumulated dose is necessary. This paper describes the development effort of a dual radiation monitoring system using a SiC diode as a dose-rate meter and a p-type power MOSFET as a dose meter. This attempt using two sensors which detect same radiation improves reliability and stability at high intensity radiation detection in nuclear facilities. It uses the concept of diversity and redundancy.
