  • For the commercialization of the urban maglev, an articulated turnout which consists of several segments of turnout girders and where switching is done by rotating those segments is under development. In this paper, to determine the alignment of this articulated turnout, the requirements for the alignement are analyzed. Requirements include: those for the levitation control and for the ride comfort. For the levitation control, rail joint width should be limited to a certain value, and for the ride comfort, the lateral acceleration and the time derivative of the lateral acceleration satisfy a guideline. According to these requirements, the alignment criteria are discussed.

  • In this paper a prototype of Requirement Tracking and Verification System(RTVS) for a Distributed Control System was implemented and tested. The RTVS is a software design and verification tool. The main functions required by the RTVS are managing, tracking and verification of the software requirements listed in the documentation of the DCS. The analysis of DCS software design procedures and inter(aces with documents were performed to define the user of the RTVS, and the design requirements for RTVS were developed.

  • Until recently, most of GCS(Ground Control Software) has been required to visualize attitude, position, status of vehicle and to transmit control and mission commands for a single UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). However, the GCS needs to expand its functions to handle more complex situations. Simultaneous operation of multiple UAVs is emerging as a new practice. Hence, we set up requirements for operation of multiple UAVs and suggest the architecture of GCS that satisfy the requirements. In this study, we analyze the upper requirements and define the total structure of GCS at first. Then we design the inner structure for requirements in detail. Finally, we verify the functions of GCS on PILS(Processor In the Loop Simulation) System.

  • A generalized singular linear quadratic control technique is developed to design an optimal trajectory tracking system. The output feedback control law is designed using this technique. The feedback gain matrix is synthesized to minimize tracking errors with pole placement capability to satisfy the control activity requirements. An applications to a bank-to-turn missile coordinated autopilot system design is presented.

  • CAC (Call Admission Control) schemes for different service class are studied in many Papers. A novel priority CAC algorithm, which gives priority to a same class call according to the total resource requirements is proposed and analyzed in this paper. The proposed algorithm provides a priority according to the total resource requirements other than only in a base station. If there are efficient residual resources in the system, it will accept all new calls. Otherwise, it will selectively accept these new calls according to the total resource requirements. The results show that the proposed algorithm provides better call blocking probability, outage probability and throughput than the conventional algorithm.

  • This paper proposes a discriminative collision resolution scheme for the wireless Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols to support the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of real-time applications. Our scheme deals with access requests in different ways depending on their delay requirements. In our scheme, a Collision Resolution Period (CRP) is used to quickly resolve collisions for the delay sensitive traffic in order to support their delay requirements. Performance analysis and simulation results show that our algorithm may successfully meet the delay requirements of real time applications by reducing access delays and collisions.

  • For the purpose of drawing out the technological criteria for the development of an Low Earth Orbit Meteorological Satellite some characteristics of infrared and microwave sensors on the payload were analysed by approaching theoretically. In addition, the channel requirements and interface requirements of the microwave sensors equipped on the payloads of the existing foreign Low Earth Orbit Meteorological Satellites were analysed with respect to the development of an Earth Orbit Meteorological Satellite payload. In this paper, the multipurpose satellite bus and the CAS 500 platform as the interface requirements of an Low Earth Orbit Meteorological Satellite, and core subsystem and principle functional requirements of a satellite control system were systematically described.

  • The spiral case concrete (SCC) used in the underground powerhouse of large hydropower stations is complex, difficult to pour, and has high requirements for temperature control and crack prevention. In this study, based on the closed-loop control theory of "multi-source sensing, real analysis, and intelligent control", a new intelligent cooling control system (ICCS) suitable for the SCC is developed and is further applied to the Wudongde large-scale underground powerhouse. By employing the site monitoring data, numerical simulation, and field investigation, the temperature control quality of the SCC is evaluated. The results show that the target temperature control curve can be accurately tracked, and the temperature control indicators such as the maximum temperature can meet the design requirements by adopting the ICCS. Moreover, the numerical results and site investigation indicate that a safety factor of the spiral case structure was sure, and no cracking was found in the concrete blocks, by which the effectiveness of the system for improving the quality of temperature control of the SCC is verified. Finally, an intelligent cooling control procedure suitable for the SCC is proposed, which can provide a reference for improving the design and construction level for similar projects.

  • A high-speed railway system represents a typical example of large-scale multi-disciplinary system, consisting of subsystems such as rolling-stock, electrical hardware, electronics, control, information, communication, civil technology etc. The system design and acquisition data of the large-scale system must be the subject under strict configuration control and management. Systems engineering technology development project for Korea next generation High-speed Electric Multiple Unit (HEMU) system in progress is a national large system development project that is not only a large-size and complex but also multi-disciplinary in nature. Therefore, all stakeholders must understand and share the functional and performance requirements of HEMU throughout its life-cycle phases. Also in the test and evaluation phase, all systems requirements must be verified. In 2011, the prototype train manufacturing will be completed. It will do test run on the commercial line and all systems requirements are verified until 2012. For the system verification, the test and evaluation process have to be established before the test trial run. Using a systems engineering tool, the system design database(SDD) with requirements traceability and development process management in the course of the development have to be established. This paper represents the test and evaluation process development based on the SEMP(Systems Engineering Management Plan) developed in the design stage. The test and evaluation process is refined and updated in comparison to the design stage one. The test and evaluation process consists of procedure, test and evaluation method and schedule. So through this process, it is defined that each systems requirements is verified on which test and about what time.
