다차원 설계윈도우 탐색법을 이용한 마이크로 액추에이터 형상설계 (Shape Design of Micro Electrostatic Actuator using Multidimensional Design Windows)

  • For micro-machines, very few design methodologies based on optimization hale been developed so far. To overcome the difficulties of design optimization of micro-machines, the search method for multi-dimensional design window (DW)s is proposed. The proposed method is defined as areas of satisfactory design solutions in a design parameter space, using both continuous evolutionary algorithms (CEA) and the modified K-means clustering algorithm . To demonstrate practical performance of the proposed method, it was applied to an optimal shape design of micro electrostatic actuator of optical memory. The shape design problem has 5 design parameters and 5 objective functions, and finally shows 4 specific design shapes and design characters based on the proposed DWs.

순차적 주밍 유전자 알고리즘 기법에 사용되는 파라미터의 최적화 및 검증 (Optimization and Verification of Parameters Used in Successive Zooming Genetic Algorithm)

  • A new approach, referred to as a successive zooming genetic algorithm (SZGA), is proposed for identifying a global solution, using continuous zooming factors for optimization problems. In order to improve the local fine-tuning of the GA, we introduced a new method whereby the search space is zoomed around the design variable with the best fitness per 100 generation, resulting in an improvement of the convergence. Furthermore, the reliability of the optimized solution is determined based on the theory of probability, and the parameter used for the successive zooming method is optimized. With parameter optimization, we can eliminate the time allocated for deciding parameters used in SZGA. To demonstrate the superiority of the proposed theory, we tested for the minimization of a multiple function, as well as simple functions. After testing, we applied the parameter optimization to a truss problem and wicket gate servomotor optimization. Then, the proposed algorithm identifies a more exact optimum value than the standard genetic algorithm.

Planning Directions of Community Facilities Integrating Generations based on Local Communities

  • Purpose: This study aims to derive planning directions of community facilities integrating generations based on local communities to promote sustainable intergenerational exchange by analyzing the spatial configuration and programs of domestic and foreign generation-integrated community facilities based on local communities. Research design, data and methodology: Through theoretical consideration, the concept of intergenerational integration, types of intergenerational exchange, and spatial arrangement types were identified. Then, case study analysis of domestic and foreign community facilities with well-planned intergenerational exchange spaces and programs were conducted to identify intergenerational integration, and to derive community facility planning direction. Results: The results of this research are as follows. First, in terms of humanware, in order to revitalize continuous exchange between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations, a systematic support system is needed to build mutual trust through voluntary participation by each generation. Second, it is important to provide a variety of shared spaces while maintaining the uniqueness of each facility from a hardware perspective, and must be planned in such a way that selective interaction takes place with privacy and interaction in mind. Third, in terms of software, programs that meet the characteristics of each user must be provided. Conclusions: It is expected that the results of this research can be used as basic data for planning community facilities that integrate generations based on local communities, contributing to the search for sustainable ways to revitalize intergenerational exchange in the future.

Crack identification in beam-like structures using multi-mass system and wavelet transform

  • This research introduces a new composite system that utilizes multiple moving masses to identify cracks in structures resembling beams. The process starts by recording displacement time data from a set of these moving masses and converting this information into a relative time history through weighted aggregation. This relative time history then undergoes wavelet transform analysis to precisely locate cracks. Following wavelet examinations, specific points along the beam are determined as potential crack sites. These points, along with locations on the beam susceptible to cracked point due to support conditions, are marked as crack locations within the optimization algorithm's search domain. The model uses equations of motion based on the finite element method for the moving masses on the beam and employs the Runge-Kutta numerical solution within the state space. The proposed system consists of three successive moving masses positioned at even intervals along the beam. To assess its effectiveness, the method is tested on two examples: a simply supported beam and a continuous beam, each having three scenarios to simulate the presence of one or multiple cracks. Additionally, another example investigates the influence of mass speed, spacing between masses, and noise effect. The outcomes showcase the method's effectiveness and efficiency in localizing crack, even in the presence of noise effect in 1%, 5% and 20%.

  • 유전자 알고리즘(GA)은 어떠한 유형의 문제에도 적용가능하며 달리 방법이 없는 경우 최후의 수단으로 흔히 사용되는 방법이다. 강구조물 설계란 기본적으로 구조물을 이루는 부재로서 어떤 재료를 선택될 것인지를 결정하는 문제이다. 따라서 천문학적인 숫자의 설계가 존재하며 이들 중 최적의 설계를 탐색하는 것은 대체로 불가능한 일이다. 본 논문에서는 GA와 이와 관련된 여러 가지 기법들을 소개하고 강구조물 최적설계에 이들의 활용을 모색하였다. 작은 설계공간을 가지는 문제에서는 GA로 전역최적설계를 찾을 수 있었다. GA는 또한 연속변수 최적설계 문제에서도 최적설계를 찾았으며 구조물 최적설계에 적용될 수 있음을 보였다. 그러나 규모가 큰 현실문제에서는 GA가 최적 또는 최적에 근접한 설계를 항상 찾을 수 있을 것이라고 기대하기는 어려울 것으로 생각된다. GA에 G bit improvement를 추가하여 수행한 경우에 더 좋은 최적설계 결과를 보여주었으며 앞으로 이 부분의 연구가 활발해 질 것이다.

도시환경과 건물 재생을 위한 파노라마 이미지 공간구성 방법 (A Study on the Panoramic Perception for Restoring of Urban Environment and Architecture)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between panoramic perception and space organization for restoration of urban environment and architecture. Panorama is a collective visual catalogue composed by series of perspective images. It is a product from continuous movements of viewer by defamilarizing real image and structuring order between city and building. Through understanding the panoramic image, the viewer is able to achieve the total image of the city. For example, achieving visual perception of the city by employing the panoramic view from different historical backgrounds and cultures, Berlin developed its urban characteristic by rebuilding panoramic view as an aesthetic device. First, this paper mention theory of panorama as an aesthetic device for shaping the city from the building. Second, this paper analyze the relationships between characteristics of panorama and historical contexts for why those panoramic views are valuable by mentioning the Altes Museum, the Berlin National Gallery, Museum of Modern Literature, and Folkwang Museum of panoramic view. In conclusion, this paper argues that visual perception such as panoramic view is the valuable device for organizing the image of the city's own identity. Constructing vision of each city influences not only shaping the city but also mapping the mental views of the building. Also, historical conditions and open spaces are one of the inherent elements combined with panoramic view for establishing urban identity. In search for good place making, it is important to understand the role of the historical context and fabric plan in shaping how a resident sees - literally, sees- their city with buildings. Berlin serve as excellent counter example in how the valuable place making panoramic mental views of urbanities take shape.

자외선램프을 이용한 유수처리장치 설계 시뮬레이션 (Simulation Method for the Flowing Water Purification with UV Lamp)

  • 자외선 살균기술을 바탕으로 한 수처리 분야에 대한 관심이 최근 증가하고 있다. 수처리분야에서 살균처리방식의 효율은 유체 살균챔버나 살균강도 그리고 미생물의 불활성역학에 따라 수처리 성능이 결정된다. 광산화법에 이용되는 빛은 주로 자외선이 이용되며 매우 깨끗하고 높은 에너지를 가지고 있어 화학살균방법에 비해 잔류물이 없고 높은 안정성으로 최근 관심이 높아지고 있다. 그러나 자외선살균방식은 조사시간과 조사량에 직접적인 영향을 받아 이를 위한 최적의 설계가 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유수살균장치의 챔버 내의 자외선 램프와 유수에 대한 3D-CFD discrete ordinates model 모델을 제시하고 이를 시뮬레이션을 통해 설계방식의 최적화 여부를 검증하고 향후 유수형 자외선살균방식의 시뮬레이션방법을 제안하고자 한다.

심층 결정론적 정책 경사법을 이용한 선박 충돌 회피 경로 결정 (Determination of Ship Collision Avoidance Path using Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient Algorithm)

  • The stability, reliability and efficiency of a smart ship are important issues as the interest in an autonomous ship has recently been high. An automatic collision avoidance system is an essential function of an autonomous ship. This system detects the possibility of collision and automatically takes avoidance actions in consideration of economy and safety. In order to construct an automatic collision avoidance system using reinforcement learning, in this work, the sequential decision problem of ship collision is mathematically formulated through a Markov Decision Process (MDP). A reinforcement learning environment is constructed based on the ship maneuvering equations, and then the three key components (state, action, and reward) of MDP are defined. The state uses parameters of the relationship between own-ship and target-ship, the action is the vertical distance away from the target course, and the reward is defined as a function considering safety and economics. In order to solve the sequential decision problem, the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) algorithm which can express continuous action space and search an optimal action policy is utilized. The collision avoidance system is then tested assuming the $90^{\circ}$intersection encounter situation and yields a satisfactory result.

소쇄원 고암정사와 부훤당의 복원적 고찰 (Study on the restoration of Soswaewon Garden's Goam-Jeongsa and Boohwondang buildings)

  • The Soswaewon Garden, which was constructed by Yang San-Bo around 1520, is a private traditional garden in Korea. Soswaewon Garden has long been and still is the focus of continuous research. However, relatively few studies have been conducted on the restoration of buildings that were lost in the past. The Goam-Jeongsa and Boohwondang buildings, which were lost in 1597 during the Japanese invasion, were restored in 1614 and depicted in a picture of Soswaewon Garden in 1755. However, they eventually disappeared and no longer exist in the present. Therefore, the restoration of these two buildings is considered an urgent task. This research aims to search for the original location of these buildings and estimate their size and shape in terms of physical space. Several years ago, an estimation of the building site was carried out, providing a stepping stone on this matter. This can be studied through "Soswaewon's 48 quatrains with five Chinese characters in each line," "Soswaewon-sasil," and "Soswaewon's drawing." Some parts of the shape of Soswaewon also appear in the "Yuseoseokrok," which is helpful. Thus, in this research, information on the Goam-Jeongsa and Boowondang buildings appearing in research results and literature to date are collectively analyzed. The location and architectural features of both buildings are identified by focusing on excavations. Also, for the purpose of restoration planning, base data on the location, size, and shape of both buildings are presented. In line with this process, a valid restoration plan is presented by analyzing the abovementioned historical research materials and comparing empirical data, such as excavation results.

파일 시스템 노화를 해소하기 위한 자동적인 단편화 해결 시스템의 설계와 구현 (Design and Implementation of Autonomic De-fragmentation for File System Aging)

  • 파일 시스템의 단편화 현상을 해결하기 위한 기존 기법들은 디스크 조각 모음과 같이 특정 시점에 집중된 디스크의 연산이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 해소하기 위해 디스크의 연산 처리를 분산시키는 자동적이고, 지속적인 단편화 해소 시스템을 설계하고 구현하고자 한다. 이를 위해 우리는 단편화 측정을 위한 자동적인 레이아웃 스코어링(ALS: Autonomic Layout Scoring)기법과 디스크의 연산 처리를 분산시키기 위한 기법으로 디스크의 유휴 시간(idle time)을 찾아 복사를 수행하는 지연 복사(Lazy-copy)기법을 제안한다. 두 기법은 우선 자동적인 레이아웃 스코어링을 통해 단편화 된 대상 파일을 검색하고, 검색된 파일을 옮길 수 있는 연속적인 빈 공간이 있을 경우, 파일의 유실을 막기 위해 지연 복사를 수행한 후 아이노드의 정보를 수정함으로써 단편화 현상을 해결한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 시스템을 실제 리눅스(linux) 환경에 적용하여 단편화 된 작은 파일의 레이아웃 스코어링을 측정 한 결과 기존 EXT2 파일 시스템보다 $2.4%{\sim}10.4%$ 정도의 레이아웃 스코어링이 향상된 것을 볼 수 있었으며, 실험 디스크에 파일 크기에 따른 읽기/쓰기를 실행하여 성능을 측정한 결과에서도 EXT2 파일 시스템과 비교 하여 쓰기성능에서는 $1%{\sim}8.5%$, 읽기 성능에서는 $1.2%{\sim}7.5%$ 정도의 향상된 결과를 보았다. 이 시스템을 이용하면 수동적인 관리 없이도 자동적으로 사용자의 I/O 작업에 대한 방해 없이 단편화 현상을 지속적으로 해소할 수 있다.
