Recent advances in wireless communications and electronics have enabled the development of low-cost, low-power, multi-functional sensors. A typical wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of a large number of sensor nodes that can measure and process data while communicating through wireless channels. In this paper, we propose a hybrid query processing (HQP) algorithm for user queries submitted to the WSN. Unlike previous algorithms that consider continuous queries only, HQP supports both continuous queries and ad-hoc queries. Specially. HQP tries to reduce energy consumption of ad-hoc queries by using query results cached at each sensor node which are created during the execution of the previous continuous query. HQP can also exploit a trade-off between energy consumption and data accuracy. We evaluate the performance of HQP under a variety of WSN configurations.

In this paper, a Mobile Continuous Query Processing System (MCQPS) is designed to solve problems related to database hoarding, maintenance of shared data consistency, and optimization of logging. These problems are caused by weak connectivity and disconnection of wireless networks inherent in mobile database systems under mobile client-server environments. We show the superiority of the proposed MCQPS by comparing its performance to the Client-Intercept-Server (C-I-S) model. In addition, several experimental results show the effectiveness of our proposed indexing structure and methodology for real-time continuous queries.

Techniques for processing continuous queries are required to developing the various types of application services (monitoring services) in ubiquitous environment where the real-time data acquisition from a lot of sensors, analysis, and processing are required. In the previous works of the continuous queries, they have represented all of the continuous queries as the interval queries or region queries, and proposed some methods for processing theses queries. The types of continuous queries, however, are very various, and could be presented by combining the attribute conditions, spatial conditions, and temporal conditions. In this paper, I have classify the types of continuous queries, and have proposed the continuous query model which could be presented by combining those conditions. The contributions of this paper include that it proposes the query model representing the continuous queries and suggests future research directions.

Some previous works for nearest neighbor (NN) query processing technique can treat a case that query/data are both moving objects. However, they cannot find exact result owing to vagueness of criterion. In order to escape their limitations and get exact result, we propose new NN query techniques, exact CTNN (continuous trajectory NN) query, approximate CTNN query, and dynamic CTNN query. These are all superior to pervious works, by reducing of number of calculation, considering of trajectory information, and using of continuous query concept. Using these techniques, we can solve any situations and types of NN query in location-aware environment.
Aggregation join queries are an important class of queries over data streams. These queries involve both join and aggregation operations, with window-based joins followed by an aggregation on the join output. All existing research address join query optimization and aggregation query optimization as separate problems. We observe that, by putting them within the same scope of query optimization, more efficient query execution plans are possible through more versatile query transformations. The enabling idea is to perform aggregation before join so that the join execution time may be reduced. There has been some research done on such query transformations in relational databases, but none has been done in data streams. Doing it in data streams brings new challenges due to the incremental and continuous arrival of tuples. These challenges are addressed in this paper. Specifically, we first present a query processing model geared to facilitate query transformations and propose a query transformation rule specialized to work with streams. The rule is simple and yet covers all possible cases of transformation. Then we present a generic query processing algorithm that works with all alternative query execution plans possible with the transformation, and develop the cost formulas of the query execution plans. Based on the processing algorithm, we validate the rule theoretically by proving the equivalence of query execution plans. Finally, through extensive experiments, we validate the cost formulas and study the performances of alternative query execution plans.
In this paper, we aim that it solve to problem of the database hoarding because a week connectivity of wireless networks and cutting of link, Consistency of shared data, optimizing of the log include to Mobile Continuous Query Processing System under the mobile client and server environment. and we demonstrate of the superiority for the new Mobile Continuous Query Processing System compare C-I-S(Client-Intercept -Server)model with performance. and we perform to various experiment in order to establishment of superiority compare the index architecture and method for the realtime Continuous Query Processing. in this paper.
In this paper, we propose a new skyline query processing scheme to enhance accuracy of query processing and communication cost in mobile P2P environments. The proposed scheme consists of three stages such as the pre-skyline processing, the query transmission range extension policy, and the continuous skyline query processing. In the pre-skyline processing, a peer selects the candidate filtering objects who have the potential to be selected. By doing so, the proposed scheme reduces the filtering cost when processing the query. In the query transmission range extension policy, we have improved the accuracy by extending the query transmission range. In addition, it can handle continuous skyline query by performing the monitoring after the first skyline query processing. In order to show the superiority of the proposed method, we compare it with the existing schemes through performance evaluation. As a result, it was shown that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing schemes.

In the past few years, the research of sensor networks is forced dramatically. Specially, while the research for maintaining the power of a sensor is focused, we are also concerned nth query processing related with the optimization of multiple continuous queries for decreasing in unnecessary energy consumption of sensor networks. We present the fragmentation algorithm to solve the redundancy problem in multiple continuous queries that increases in the count or the amount of transmitting data in sensor networks. The fragmentation algorithm splits one query into more than two queries using the query index (QR-4ree) in order to reduce the redundant query region between a newly created query and the existing queries. The R*-tree should be reorganized to the QR-tree right to the structure suggested. In the result, we preserve 20 percentage of the total energy in the sensor networks.
Enhancing continuous queries over data streams with temporal functions and predicates enriches the expressive power of those queries. While traditional continuous queries retrieve only the values of attributes, temporal continuous queries retrieve the valid time intervals of those values as well. Correctly evaluating such queries requires the coalescing of adjacent timestamps for value-equivalent tuples prior to evaluating temporal functions and predicates. For many stream applications, the available computing resources may be too limited to produce exact query results. These limitations are commonly addressed through load shedding and produce approximated query results. There have been many load shedding mechanisms proposed so far, but for temporal continuous queries, the presence of coalescing makes theses existing methods unsuitable. In this paper, we propose a new accuracy metric and load shedding algorithm that are suitable for temporal query processing when memory is insufficient. The accuracy metric uses a combination of the Jaccard coefficient to measure the accuracy of attribute values and $\mathcal{PQI}$ interval orders to measure the accuracy of the valid time intervals in the approximate query result. The algorithm employs a greedy strategy combining two objectives reflecting the two accuracy metrics (i.e., value and interval). In the performance study, the proposed greedy algorithm outperforms a conventional random load shedding algorithm by up to an order of magnitude in its achieved accuracy.
Performing continuous skyline queries of dynamic data sets is now more challenging as the sizes of data sets increase and as they become more volatile due to the increase in dynamic updates. Although previous work proposed support for such queries, their efficiency was restricted to small data sets or uniformly distributed data sets. In a production database with many concurrent queries, the execution of continuous skyline queries impacts query performance due to update requirements to acquire exclusive locks, possibly blocking other query threads. Thus, the computational costs increase. In order to minimize computational requirements, we propose a method based on a multi-layer grid structure. First, relational data object, elements of an initial data set, are processed to obtain the corresponding multi-layer grid structure and the skyline influence regions over the data. Then, the dynamic data are processed only when they are identified within the skyline influence regions. Therefore, a large amount of computation can be pruned by adopting the proposed multi-layer grid structure. Using a variety of datasets, the performance evaluation confirms the efficiency of the proposed method.
