In this study, the material used in the hot dip galvanizing equipment was poorly corrosion-resistant, so it was performed to solve the cost and time problems caused by equipment replacement. The theoretical calculation was performed using the DV-Xα method(Discrete Variational Local-density approximation method). The alloy (STS4XX series) of the equipment currently used has a martensite phase. Therefore, the theoretical calculation was performed by applying P4 / mmm, which is a tetragonal structure. The new alloy was chosen by designing theoretical values close to existing materials. Considering elements that contribute to corrosion, most have high prices. Therefore, the design was completed by adjusting the content using only the components of the reference material in the theoretical design. The final design alloys were chosen as D6 and D9. Designed D6 and D9 were dissolved and prepared using an induction furnace. After the heat treatment process was completed, the corrosion rate of the alloys was confirmed by using the potentiodynamic polarization test. The surface of the prepared alloys were processed horizontally and then polished to # 1200 using sand paper to perform potentiodynamic polarization test. Domestic products: 4.735 mpy (mils / year), D6: 0.9166 mpy, D9: 0.3372 mpy, alloys designed than domestic products had a lower corrosion rate. Therefore, the designed alloy was expected to have better erosion resistance.
Titanium and its alloys were brazed in the range of $850-950^{\circ}C$ within 10 min. of brazing time using expensive infra red or other heating methods. However, brazing time needs to be extended to get temperature-uniformity for mass production by using continuous belt type furnace or high vacuum furnace with low heating rate. This study examined effects of holding temperature for 60 min, on microstructure and mechanical properties of titanium alloys. Mechanical properties of titanium alloys were drastically deteriorated with increasing holding temperature followed by grain growth. Maximum holding temperatures for CP (commercial pure) titanium and Ti-6Al-4V were confirmed as $800^{\circ}C$ and $850^{\circ}C$, respectively. Both titanium alloys were successfully brazed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 60 min. with the level of base metal strengths by using Zr based filler metal, $Zr_{54}Ti_{22}Ni_{16}Cu_8$.
Meta-kaolin (MK) and blast furnace slag (BS) were used as raw materials with NaOH and sodium silicate as alkali activators for making geo-polymers. The compressive strength with respect to the various pre-curing conditions was investigated. In order to improve the recycling rate of BS while still obtaining high compressive strength of the geo-polymers, it was necessary to provide additional CaO to the MK by adding BS. The specimens containing greater amounts of BS can be applied to fields that require high initial compressive strength. Alkali activator(s) are inevitably required to make geo-polymers useful. High temperature pre-curing plays an important role in improving compressive strength in geo-polymers at the early stage of curing. On the other hand, long-term curing produced little to no positive effects and may have even worsened the compressive strength of the geo-polymers because of micro-structural defects through volume expansion by high temperature pre-curing. Therefore, a pre-curing process at a medium range temperature of $50^{\circ}C$ is recommended because a continuous increase in compressive strength during the entire curing period as well as good compressive strength at the early stages can be obtained.
This study concentrated on a report on the results of smelting experiments conducted eight times by the Jungwon National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, put together the goals and results of the operation, and examined changes in the content of experiments and in the experimental results. First, changes related to operation, such as the ratio of raw materials to fuel and the presence or absence of additives, were reviewed depending on the operation goal. In addition, the results of metallurgical analysis of raw materials, formations, and byproducts were summarized and reviewed by comparing them with materials excavated from the ruins. The operation method varied up to the eighth smelting experiment in terms of iron ore roasting, additives, and raw material/fuel ratio. After reviewing the results again, pure iron with a low carbon content began to be confirmed through metallurgical analysis. As a result, it was confirmed that the charging ratio of raw materials and fuel plays an important role depending on the purpose of production. In addition, most of the products are gray cast iron, and it was deemed that this is due to changes in the internal structure of the pig iron while it was left in the furnace for a long time. The iron was an ingot that was in a molten state even though the carbon content did not reach 4.3%, where the process reaction takes place, and it was deemed to have been caused by excessive operating temperature. Based on the previously reviewed results and the structure and shape of the experimental furnace used in other ironmaking technology restoration experiments, this study finally attempted to restore the structure of an ancient iron smelting furnace, including the furnace's upper structure. By comprehensively referring to the remaining conditions of the excavated iron smelting furnace and the characteristics of the blow pipe, the form of the ancient iron smelting furnace was subdivided into six categories: furnace wall thickness, furnace height, blower height, blow pipe size, furnace inner wall shape, and top shape, and a restoration plan was proposed. To improve the problems of the restoration plan and the Jungwon National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage's experiments that have been conducted through continuous trial and error, an experiment that reflects changes in operating methods by lowering the furnace height and controlling the blowing volume is necessary.
Recently, the new technology for the recycling of waste plastics as an alternative he1 of blast furnace ha been developed. In this shldy, the test of plastics injection into a tuyere af the foundry blast furnace were carried out. The injection rate of plastics far this tcst facility war expressed as follows, ${W}_{s}=0.265\frac{{delta}PA}{U}_{g}$, where. Ws, AP, A and Ug are plastic conveying ratc (kgisec), pressure drop between feed hopper and blaqt pressure (alm), cross sectional area of conveying pipe (mi) and superficial velocity of transport air (mhzc) respcctiuely. From the results of semi-continuous test operation during 96 hours, the replacement raho mned out to be 1.38 according to the injection rate of 6. 4 kg-plasticsit-p. With increasing the rate of plaslics injcchon, the content of hydrogen in top gas became increased and the brick temperahlre at bzlly was also increased due to Lhe changes ot the combustion zone shape.
A continuous flow system has been developed to determine trace Cu(II), Mn(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) in a large volume of water samples by a solvent sublation technique. The mixed solution of 1,10-phenanthroline(phen) and thiocyanate ion was used as ligands for the formation of their ternary complexes. The continuous system was constructed in this laboratory with a peristaltic pump, a mini shaker, three mixing bottles and a flotation cell by connecting each part with a polyethylene tube. The flotation conditions such as the flow rate of sample solution and the injection rates of ligand, buffer and surfactant solutions have been investigated to obtain the best sublation efficiencies. Each solution flowed into the flotation cell through each polyethylene tube by the peristaltic pumps. The ternary complexes were floated and extracted into MIBK in a flotation cell of 2 L by bubbling a nitrogen gas. The absorbances of extracted analytes in MIBK were directly measured by graphite furnace-AAS. The concentrations of 1,10-phenanthroline and thiocyanate ion were $2.6\;{\times}\;10^{-3}$ M and $2.3\;{\times}\;10^{-2}$ M in the mixed solution, respectively. The pH of sample solution was adjusted to 5.0 with a buffer solution and 1%(m/v) sodium lauryl sulphate solution was added as a surfactant to support the effective flotation of the complexes. The $N_2$ gas was bubbled at 30 mL/min for 90 minutes for 20 L of sample. Reproducible results of less than 10% RSD and recoveries of 80-120% could be obtained in real samples.

The gas atmosphere in continuous annealing and galvanizing lines alters both composition and microstructure of the surface and sub-surface of sheet steel. The formation and morphology of the oxides of alloying elements in High Strength Interstitial Free (HS-IF), Dual Phase (DP) and Transformation-Induced Plasticity (TRIP) steels are strongly influenced by the furnace dew point, and the presence of specific oxide may result in surface defects and bare areas on galvanized sheet products. The present contribution reviews the progress made recently in understanding the selective formation of surface and subsurface oxides during annealing in hot dip galvanizing and conventional continuous annealing lines. It is believed that the surface and sub-surface composition and microstructure have a pronounced influence on galvanized sheet product surface quality. In the present study, it is shown that the understanding of the relevant phenomena requires a combination of precise laboratory-scale simulations of the relevant technological processes and the use of advanced surface analytical tools.
The slot-die coating & calcination process was adopted to fabricate the long YBCO precursor films on the buffered metal tape for the $2^{nd}$ generation coated conductors. To obtain the smooth and crack-free surface of long YBCO precursor films, the parameters of slot-die coating and the process variables of calcination step must be optimized simultaneously in reel-to-reel method. Among the parameter of slot-die coating process, the viscosities of the precursor solution was controlled from 60cP to 200cP to obtain the thicker films from on single coating. The slot-die gap, the injection rate of precursor solution, the moving speed of buffered metal tape etc. are controlled lot the full coverage and smooth surface of YBCO precursor films. The slot-die coated films are moved through the tube furnace with predetermined heating profiles in humid oxygen ambient The YBCO precursor films was identifed with $Y_2O_3,\;BaF_2$, and CuO phase by XRD and consisted of fine grains of about 20nm size observed by FE-SEM. The YBCO films show the critical current density over $MA/cm^2$ using the precursor films formed by the continuous slot-die coating & calcination process.

Recently, attempts of replacing some of natural aggregate with mix of low quality aggregate are carried out for stable supply of aggregate. However, low quality aggregate such as recycled aggregate produced during the disposal process of construction wastes and by-product aggregate produced by industrial activities has problem of failing to comply to KS Standards. Therefore, we have compared fundamental properties of concrete by using granite crushed aggregate, recycled aggregate, blast furnace and electric arc furnace slag aggregate for effective utilization of lacking aggregate resources. As the result, slump in case of mixed use of aggregate was increased 0~10% compared to single use. Therefore, it is judged to be economically advantageous as it can expect effects in unit quantity or reduction of SP agent. Compressive strength in case of mixed use of aggregate was increased 0~10% compared to single use as it filled internal crevice of concrete with continuous particle size distribution. Accordingly, if we utilize by satisfying standard particle scope through mix of aggregate with different cause of formation in proper ratio, it was possible to confirm utility of mixed aggregate with demonstration of effects of increases of fluidity and compressive strength of concrete.

This study carried out continuous column test for estimating the regeneration efficiency with regeneration times and temperatures. More times regenerated granular activated carbon (GAC) has more ash in the GAC and has less apparent density. Two times regenerated GAC ($2^{nd}$ re-GAC) could removed the Trihalomethanes (THMs) in the water for the first two week after starting continuous column test, on the other hand five times regenerated GAC ($5^{th}$ re-GAC) did not have adsorption capacity. The THMs concentration in the effluent was almost equal or higher than that of influent at the first time of continuous column test. $2^{nd}$ re-GAC showed much more DOC adsorption capacity than $5^{th}$ re-GAC and the GAC which was regenerated with $700^{\circ}C$ had highest DOC removal efficiency among the GACs with 600, 700, 800, $900^{\circ}C$ regeneration temperatures. It is anticipated the cost of GAC regeneration could be saved more 100 million won by reducing the furnace temperature of 3rd~4th and 5th~6th about $150^{\circ}C$ compared to the current regeneration condition.
