According to the expansion of smartphone penetration and development of wearable device, personal context information can be easily collected. To use this information, the context aware recommender system has been actively studied. The key issue in this field is how to deal with the context information, as users are influenced by different contexts while rating items. But measuring the similarity among contexts is not a trivial task. To solve this problem, we propose context aware post-filtering to apply the context compensation. To be specific, we calculate the compensation for different context information by measuring their average. After reflecting the compensation of the rating data, the mechanism recommends the items to the user. Based on the item recommendation list, we recover the rating score considering the context information. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we use the real movie rating dataset. Experimental evaluation shows that our proposed method outperforms several state-of-the-art approaches.

Studies on compensation structures of international technology licensing show that the level of intellectual property protection in the host market and the favorableness of the host country's economic environment are positively related to the use of running royalty-based compensation structure. Lump-sum fee or fixed royalty compensation is more likely to be used in the introduction and decline stages of the technology life cycle, and running royalty compensation in the growth stage. The international experience and the size of the licensor company are positively related to the use of running royalty. In this theoretical context, this paper analyzes the choice of compensation structures in Korean technology imports. The paper uses the officially reported data to analyze the compensation structures. It analyzes the characteristics of the compensation structures in terms of fixed royalty and running royalty by licensor country, group of licensor countries and size of licensee companies.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the necessity of administrative compensation insurance and claims cases during the emergency medical service process among administrative compensation insurance cases and suggests problems and improvement measures. Methods: We compared the details of administrative compensation insurance claims of 15 cities and provinces, excluding Seoul and Kwangju, from 2017 to 2020 by requesting details disclosure of the comprehensive deduction for administrative compensation in 17 cities and provinces across the country. Results: A total of 69 cases were compensated through the administrative comprehensive compensation deductions. There were 53 cases of damage that occurred at the field stage, 14 cases at the transfer and hospital stage, and two other cases. Conclusion: The 119 paramedics, which are the perpetrators, should be active in field activities and free from the psychological pressure caused by increased workload and litigation. Active compensation administration is required for damage cases occurring in the firefighting activities context.

This paper proposes a novel lossless image compression scheme composed of direction-adaptive prediction and context-based entropy coding. In the prediction stage, we analyze the directional property with respect to the current coding pixel and select an appropriate prediction pixel. In order to further reduce the prediction error, we propose a prediction error compensation technique based on the context model defined by the activities and directional properties of neighboring pixels. The proposed scheme applies a context-based Golomb-Rice coding as the entropy coding since the coding efficiency can be improved by using the conditional entropy from the viewpoint of the information theory. Experimental results indicate that the proposed lossless image compression scheme outperforms the low complexity and high efficient JPEG-LS in terms of the coding efficiency by 1.3% on average for various test images, specifically for the images with a remarkable direction the proposed scheme shows better results.

This paper presents implementation of localization system using UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) sensors and its experimental results along with development of context-aware services. In order for precise measurement of position, we experimented various conditions of pitch angles, yaw angles, number of sensors, height of tags along with measuring errors at each installation. As an application examples of the location tracking system, we developed an intelligent health training management system based on context-aware technology. The system provides appropriate training schedule to a trainee by recognizing position of the trainee and current status of gymnastic equipments and note the usage of the equipment through a personal digital assistant (PDA). Error compensation on position data and moving direction of the trainee was necessary for context-aware service. Hence, we proposed an error compensation algorithm using velocity of the trainee. Experimental results showed that proposed algorithm had made error data reduce by 30% comparing with the data without applying the algorithm.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was two-fold: to identify the effect of dental hygienist's self-determination motivation on their job engagement and to analyze the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction that affect the relevance. Methods : Data were collected using a structured self-report questionnaire administered to 260 dental hygienists working in dental hospitals and clinics in Busan, South Korea. These were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0 and SPSS Process Macro 3.5. A frequency analysis, including the respondents' general characteristics, frequency, percentages, and standard deviations, was performed. A regression analysis was also performed using SPSS Process Macro to verify the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction in the effect of self-determination motivation on job engagement. Results : The self-determination motivation of the dental hygienists had a statistically significant positive effect on their job engagement, which was the dependent variable. Higher intangible compensation satisfaction levels led to a stronger effect of intrinsic motivation but a weaker effect of extrinsic motivation on job engagement. Moreover, higher tangible compensation satisfaction levels strengthened the effect of intrinsic motivation on job engagement. Conclusion : Recently, the demand for oral health care has been increasing, Competition in the dental medical service market warrants, high-quality dental services based on accurate diagnosis and treatment. In this context, dental hygienists' job engagement must be improved. For this purpose, increasing the satisfaction of dental hygienists with self-determination motivation and appropriate compensation is effective. In addition, attention must be paid to the moderating effect of compensation satisfaction on the relationship between intrinsic motivation and job engagement. On the basis of the implications of this study, the results can be used as basic data for improving dental hygienists' welfare system and manpower management.

Compensation and pay dispersion has been rigorously scrutinized to investigate their impacts on productivity and organizational performance. However, it is difficult to find a systematic study on the systematic dynamics of compensation and pay dispersion effects specifically in the context of Korean venture companies. Venture companies should manage their organizational resources efficiently to maximize their organizational performance through pay structure by efficiently managing the inherent resources. However, we acknowledge that empirical studies on how compensation and pay dispersion affect organizational productivity and performance are rare to find in the Korean context. To overcome this supplement limitation, this study hypothesized that (1) pay and members' productivity are positively related, (2) pay dispersion and organizational productivity have U shaped relationship, and (3) organizational productivity mediates the positive relationship between compensation and organizational performance. Venture companies and professional sports teams share manifold common characteristics such as size, financial circumstances, and operational objectives. We collect 9 seasons (2013~2014 - 2021~2022) of 10 teams' data of Korean Basketball League teams to test our hypotheses. Methodologically, the assessment of our analysis is rendered with PROCESS macro model 58. The statistical results showed that all hypotheses are statistically supported. This study explains how compensation and pay dispersion affect organizational productivity and performance of venture companies in Korea.

Background: Work-related stress is one of the major causes of occupational ill health. In line with the regulatory framework on occupational health and safety (OSH), adequate models for assessing and managing risk need to be identified so as to minimize the impact of this stress not only on workers' health, but also on productivity. Methods: After close analysis of the Italian and European reference regulatory framework and workrelated stress assessment and management models used in some European countries, we adopted the UK Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Management Standards (MS) approach, adapting it to the Italian context in order to provide a suitable methodological proposal for Italy. Results: We have developed a work-related stress risk assessment strategy, meeting regulatory requirements, now available on a specific web platform that includes software, tutorials, and other tools to assist companies in their assessments. Conclusion: This methodological proposal is new on the Italian work-related stress risk assessment scene. Besides providing an evaluation approach using scientifically validated instruments, it ensures the active participation of occupational health professionals in each company. The assessment tools provided enable companies not only to comply with the law, but also to contribute to a database for monitoring and assessment and give access to a reserved area for data analysis and comparisons.

This study aimed to identify the dimensions of successful aging, as perceived by elderly Koreans, and to test qualitatively the elders' optimization of selection and compensation strategies in a social activity context. The results were as follows: First, the most important part of life fulfillment and regret was family and work. Second, social activity played a role in self-actualization and physiological needs. Moreover, it contributed to the elders' physical and mental health maintenance. Third, the elderly effectively participated in social activities by optimizing their selection and compensation strategies. Fourth, the elderly realized they are growing old, but considered it as a natural process. In addition, some participants suggested retirement age should be raised, but others were against this idea. Finally, elders thought successful aging means having a sufficient and independent life in old age. Thus, the elderly required good health, economic security, and a positive attitude for aging successfully.
