Multi-Round CPA on Hardware DES Implementation (하드웨어 DES에 적용한 다중라운드 CPA 분석)

  • Recently at SCIS2011, Nakatsu et. al. proposed multi-round Correlation Power Analysis(CPA) on Hardware Advanced Encryption Standard(AES) to improve the performance of CPA with limited number of traces. In this paper, we propose, Multi-Round CPA to retrieve master key using CPA of 1round and 2round on Hardware DES. From the simulation result for the proposed attack method, we could extract 56-bit master key using the 300 power traces of Hardware DES in DPA contes. And it was proved that we can search more master key using multi-round CPA than using single round CPA in limited environments.

  • With an assumption that the view point of a given society and time on facial attractiveness can be inferred by analyzing winners of beauty pageant faces, the trends in the physical measures of miss Koreas were investigated. A classification model of affective facial impressions was used to obtain the physical measures of the faces and classifying them into a face-type category. The number of face images analyzed in the study were 171 winners of Miss Korea Contest. The results show that there has been a shift in the impression from 'mature' to 'babyish' for the Korean beauty-contest winners for the last 50 years.

Everyday science problem solving processes of high ability elementary students in science: Analysis of written responses (초등 과학 우수 학생의 일상적 맥락의 과학 문제 해결 과정: 서답형 문항에 대한 응답 분석)

  • The problem solving processes of elementary school children who are talented in science have been seldom studied. Researchers often resort to thinking aloud method to collect data of problem solving processes. The major purpose of the study is investigating high ability elementary school students' problem solving processes through the analysis of written responses to science problems in everyday context. 67 elementary students were participated Chungcheongbuk-do Elementary Science Contest held on October, 1997. The written responses of the contest participants to science problems in everyday context were analyzed in terms of problem solving processes. The findings of the research are as follows. (1) High ability elementary students use various concepts about air and water in the process of problem solving. (2) High ability elementary students use content specific problem solving strategies. (3) The problem solving processes of the high ability elementary students consist of problem representation, problem solution, and answer stages. Problem representation stage is further divided into translation and integration phases. Problem solving stage is composed of deciding relevant knowledge, strategy, and info..ins phases. (4) High ability elementary students' problem solving processes could be categorized into 11 qualitatively different groups. (5) Students failures in problem solving are explained by many phases of problem solving processes. Deciding relevant knowledge and inferring phases play major roles in problem solving. (6) The analysis of students' written responses, although has some limitations, could provide plenty of information about high ability elementary students' problem solving precesses.

EValuation of the Outcome and Program of the Field Trip Contest (자연보호 답사대회 프로그램과 성과의 평가)

  • This study is to consider the result of the Field Trip Contest(FTC) and get a suggestion as a way of environmental education at school level in field. FTC was executed with selected students(3/1team) of 5th grade nationwide at Nam-Han mountain fortress in the suburbs of Seoul in Oct., 1994. The outcome of FTC was very high with the score of 1.38/2.0, and the quality of the program was generally high with the score of 1.09/2.0. Among areas of the outcome domain, accomplishment of the objectives of FTC was very high(1.55), execution of the policy of FTC was generally high(1.27), and operation and promotion of FTC was generally high(1.16). And in the Program of FTC domain, meaning of execution was very high(1.57), possibility of accomplishment was not high(0.03), validity of the content was generally high(1.18), appropriateness of activity scope was generally high(1.15), possibility of application into school system was generally high(1.22), and extending effect to education was generally high(0.9). Participants responded they got a great experience of inquiry for protecting nature during the activity of FTC and teachers accompanying found a good possibility to do in own school province.

A Case Study of Contemporary Textile Art in Loewe Craft Prize

  • Loewe Craft Prize is currently the most influential craft contest. During the contest, contemporary craftworks, as art with excellent aesthetic value, are selected as finalists but there are no enough studies on them as subjects. This study aimed to investigate contemporary textile pieces found in the fashion brand Loewe's Craft Prize, a Loewe Foundation Craft Prize and elucidate their expressive characteristics. The methodology of the study was a qualitative study that derives the expressive characteristics of the works within the scope of the study through case analysis along with theoretical reviews. The selection of research subjects was based on 22 works of textile pieces among the works selected as finalists for the last six years since the first year of the prize in 2016. The analysis of textile pieces showed first, the emphasis on traditional expression, second, the development of new expressive techniques for the material, and third, the pictorial character revealed in flat pieces. The expressive characteristics of contemporary textile art shown in the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, derived based on such results were, first, the confirmation of the unique capabilities of craft through the inheritance of tradition, second, the rediscovery of textile properties through material experimentation, and third, the possibility of expanding the field of textile due to the pictorial character.

  • In 1999, Six Sigma was introduced into Korea and after that it had general influence on company-wide management system. Quality Circles apply the various quality problem solving techniques such as QC 7 Tool, New QC 7 Tool, and statistical methods to rationalization, improvement in the shop floor. This paper empirically investigates the effects of Six Sigma on Quality Circles by analyzing the difference of problem solving technique's use. The number of teams employed in this study is 342, which participate in National Quality Circles Contest from 1997 to 2002 in Korea.

  • 환경부가 주최하고 (사)한국환경포장진흥원이 주관하는 제3회 그린패키징 공모전 시상식이 12월 9일 엘타워 엘하우스홀에서 열렸다. 그린패키징 공모전은 우수한 친환경 포장기술 및 디자인을 발굴, 시상함으로써 친환경 포장에 대한 인식 및 관심을 제고하여 관련 학생 및 종사자들의 사기진작과 기술개발 의욕을 고취시킨다는 목적 아래 금번 제3회를 맞고 있다. 특히 친환경 포장과 관련한 신기술 개발을 촉진함으로써 자원 절약과 녹색 성장에 기여한다는 취지를 갖고 있다. 제3회 그린패키징 공모전에서는 일반 부문 10개 업체 16점이 수상의 영예를 안았으며, 학생부문에서도 5개교 12점이 수상했다. 본 고에서는 제3회 그린패키징 공모전 수상작들을 살펴보도록 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 GX 프로그램의 하나인 스피닝 운동을 모델로 사용자의 골격을 추적하여 강사 아바타와의 동작 일치율을 판단하고, 스피닝 운동 중 감성을 분석하여 사용자에게 맞춤형 운동을 추천한다. 또한 현장감과 몰입감 증대를 위해 바람, 조명, 진동 등 다양한 실감효과를 제공하는 스포테인먼트 스피닝 시스템을 개발하고, 가정에서 원격지의 사용자와의 경연 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 실감 체험형 시스템을 제안한다.

  • 한국환경포장진흥원이 친환경적인 포장기술 및 디자인 개발을 적극 장려하기 위해 환경부와 공동 주최하고 정산장학재단이 후원한 '제2회 그린패키징 공모전(Korea Green packaging contest)'의 시상식이 구랍 10일 서울 양재동 엘 타워(EL Tower)에서 성대하게 개최됐다. 이날 행사에서는 일반 부분 대상에 (주)팬택, (주)오리온, 소프트팩(주)이 수상의 영예를 안은 것을 비롯, 총 25개 작품이 수상작품으로 선정됐다. 이 가운데, 20여년간 연포장 업계에 종사해 온 경험을 바탕으로 친환경 포장에 관심을 갖고 그린패키징 개발에 주력해 온 소프트팩(주) 유하경 대표이사를 만나, 수상 소감 및 친환경 패키징에 대한 견해를 들어보았다.
