  • This paper presents a caching algorithm that offers better reconstructed data quality to the requesters than a probabilistic caching scheme while maintaining comparable network performance. It decides whether an incoming data packet must be cached based on the dynamic caching probability, which is adjusted according to the priorities of content carried by the data packet, the uncertainty of content popularities, and the records of cache events in the router. The adaptation of caching probability depends on the priorities of content, the multiplication factor adaptation, and the addition factor adaptation. The multiplication factor adaptation is computed from an instantaneous cache-hit ratio, whereas the addition factor adaptation relies on a multiplication factor, popularities of requested contents, a cache-hit ratio, and a cache-miss ratio. We evaluate the performance of the caching algorithm by comparing it with previous caching schemes in network simulation. The simulation results indicate that our proposed caching algorithm surpasses previous schemes in terms of data quality and is comparable in terms of network performance.

  • This study aims to understand family support and self-efficacy-mediated structural relation of college students' unemployment stress with their adaptation to school life. Findings of the research are summarized as follows. The study looked into how unemployment stress would directly affect self-efficacy, family support and adaptation to school life. It was found that the unemployment stress would have immediate negative effects on the self-efficacy, family support and adaptation to school life. In addition, the study noticed that with both family support and self-efficacy applied as mediating factors, unemployment stress influences college students' adaptation to school life indirectly and negatively. After the investigation on the immediate effects of family support in relation to the self-efficacy, the study indicated that family support has an immediate positive influence on the self-efficacy. In terms of self-efficacy, it appeared to affect adaptation to school life both positively and directly but, its indirect effects on the adaptation to school life was not confirmed. The study failed to find any direct influence of the family support on adaptation to school life but learned that the family support causes an indirect positive effect through self-efficacy, the mediating factor. In conclusion, the study suggests that adaptation to school life improves as long as unemployment stress decreases, while the family support and the self-efficacy are enhanced.

  • When multimedia contents are adapted to different terminals in the ubiquitous computing environment, the contents' modalities can be converted variously. In this paper, we present an efficient user preference that enable user to specify his choices on the modalities of the adapted contents. We also propose the methods to systematically integrate the user preference into the content adaptation process. This modality conversion preference has been developed as a description tool for MPEG-21 Digital Item Adaptation (DIA).

  • The study examined the adversity quotient to determine the organizational adaptation among office workers in Korea. Participants were 202 adults who work in general offices in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Data were collected from August to October in 2013. Adversity quotient was measured using Stoltz's Adversity Quotient Profile(AQP) and Correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were done. In result, adversity quotient was significantly related with emotional intelligency and resilience. Multiple regression revealed that adversity quotient emerged as the most significant predictor of organizational adaptation. Adversity Quotient Profile could be a useful tool to measure the capacity of overcoming the adversity and applied to develop the education contents or program strategies.

  • As becoming the age of ubiquitous, there are many discussion and publication for standards to express platform profile. These various platform profiles have some problems. The solve these problems, we propose and develop a new posting mechanism which improve the performance of contents adaptation engine by simplifying platform profile and processing various type of platform profiles; we introduce the way to integrate different profiles to solve nut to recognize the profile which is used by different adaptation system and simplify platform profile by grouping the similar attributes of platform profiles. Proposed system can processing different profiles and also the system overhead to processing a profile and creating a dynamic profile has reduced. As a result overall performance of content adaptation system has increased.

  • The purpose of this research is to provide useful data in forming sound scientific concepts by investigating elementary students' non-scientific concepts related to their concepts of biological adaptation, and by analyzing the general inclinations and causes of some misconceptions. Twenty-four objective questions were designed to be given to 5th and 6th grade elementary students in order to investigate their concepts of biological adaptation. According to the test results, they formed scientific concepts in most questions. But they appeared to have many misconceptions in some parts which should be guided by the teacher's additional explanations rather than by the education curricula's focus. There are some cases where the 6th grade students had more misconceptions than the 5th grade students who were not systemically taught the concepts of biological adaptation, for the reasons of strengthening or maintaining the misconceptions by confusing the contents of learning. Male and female students have different scientific concepts of different questions according to their interest and attention. Therefore, it is necessary to develop various teaching-learning data which can help the teachers' additional explanations about the concepts of biological adaptation and invoke students' interest and attention, and to seek appropriate measures to form sound scientific concepts among teachers as well as students.

  • This study was conducted to examine the mediating effects of social anxiety and academic self-efficacy in the relationship between adolescent covert narcissism and school life adaptation. The subjects were 423 middle school and high school students. The results of this study are as follows: First, covert narcissistic personality tendency had a negative correlation with school life adaptation(r=-.51, p<.01). Covert narcissism had significant positive correlation with social anxiety(r=.70, p<.01) but had negative correlation with academic self-efficacy(r=-.39, p<.01). Social anxiety showed a significant negative correlation with school life adaptation(r=-.50, p<.01), academic self-efficacy had a positive correlation with school life adaptation(r=.63, p<.01), and social anxiety had a negative correlation with academic self-efficacy(r=-.51, p<.01). Second, as a result of verifying the mediating effects of social anxiety and academic self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy has mediating effects on the relationship between covert narcissism and school life adaptation(${\beta}=.41$, p<.001), and social anxiety has no mediating effect on school life adaptation(${\beta}=-.05$, p<.001). The results of this study suggest that If adolescents with covert narcissism have difficulties in adapting to school life, increasing academic self-efficacy, especially self-control efficacy and self-confidence, may be helpful to improve adolescents' adaptation to school life.

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the degree of improvement in performance confidence and executive ability after conducting field adaptation education to dental hygiene students who start their first field practice. Thirty dental hygiene students were evaluated with performance confidence, indirect and direct evaluation of practical skill before and after the field adaptation education was conducted for 15 hours. Also field practice satisfaction was investigated after field practice. A paired t-test was conducted to compare performance confidence, indirect executive ability, and direct practical ability before and after education. Pearson's correlation was performed on the correlation between field adaptation education and field practice satisfaction. Linear regression analysis was performed to identify the influencing factors of field practice satisfaction. As a results, performance confidence, indirect and direct practical skills of after field adaptation program were increased than before that(p<0.05). The correlation between field adaptation education and field practice satisfaction showed that "education satisfaction" among the field adaptation education sub-regions correlated with "education content" and "support of field practice" among the field practice satisfaction sub-regions(p<0.05). Therefore, it is necessary to develop and management various adaptation education in the future as it increases the adaptability of the first field practice and increases the satisfaction of field practice.

  • This paper analyzed the effect of job search channels on the occupational adaptation of college graduates, with the Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS) data. The analysis results are as follows: First, when using human networks for getting jobs, not only the educational level and major adequacy, but also the workplace satisfaction and the job satisfaction were higher than when using non-human networks. Second, as in the mediating effect of the relationship between job search channels and occupational adaptation by Sobel-test, it was found that there was a partial mediating effect of educational level and major adequacy, excluding skill level adequacy. The results of this study shows that human networks, by serving as an effective information transmitter on person-job fit between job search and recruitment, contribute significantly to improve occupational adaptation of college graduates. These results imply that strategic utilization of human networks in job search activities is important, and that it is necessary that career-related programs in the universities or the employment service institutions systematically include the importance and methods of using human networks.
