<유료 방송 가입자의 장르 선호도와 VOD 구매의 관계에 관한 연구:IPTV 영화 VOD 이용을 중심으로> (Study on the Relationship between the Pay TV Subscriber's Genre Preference and VOD Purchase : Focusing on the Movie VOD of IPTV Service)

  • 본 연구는 VOD 이용 특성에 따라 유료방송 가입자의 장르 선호도가 어떻게 나타나는지 IPTV 가입자를 대상으로 8개월간 이용한 영화 VOD 구매 데이터를 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째 4000원 미만의 콘텐츠 이용 시 4000원 이상의 콘텐츠 이용시보다 장르 집중도가 더 높게 나타났다. 이는 플랫폼 사업자가 제공하는 대중에 기반한 콘텐츠 추천 서비스가 제한될 경우 가입자가 자신의 장르 선호도에 따라 구매하는 경향이 있음을 보여준다. 둘째, 해외 영화 이용시 국내 영화 이용시 보다 장르 선호도가 크게 나타났다. 셋째, 구매 횟수와 구매금액이 많은 고객이 더 다양한 장르를 이용하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이는 헤비 유저나 지불 의향이 높은 고객은 다양한 장르를 소비하는 경향이 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 이 결과를 통해 향후 선호 장르에 기반한 개인화 추천 서비스를 가입자에게 제공할 경우 유료방송 VOD 이용이 더 증가할 것으로 예측할 수 있다.

온라인 게임의 속성이 온라인 게이머들의 선호도에 미치는 영향에 대한 탐색적인 연구 (Exploring Online Gamers′ Preference for Online Games)

  • Many online content providers who use the Internet to distribute contents, such as news, music, games, books, and other types of information, have been experiencing an extremely competitive business environment. To survive in this environment, they have started charging a fee for the contents that they provide. However, there have been very few success stories in commercializing online contents. One of the biggest hurdles may be customers' psychological resistance against paying a fee for the contents that have been free of charge previously. Without examining customers' perceived prices for online contents, many online content providers have tended to decide their prices by themselves. Online games are not exceptional cases. Although many online game-related research works have focused on psychological and technical aspects, very few works have examined online garners' preference carefully. This study alms at exploring online garners' preference by measuring their WTP (willingness to pay) for online games.

Children′s Preferences for the Dishes Offered by School Lunch Programs

  • To evaluate the school lunch program served by elementary schools in Muan, Korea, we examined children's preference for the dishes offered on the menus. School lunch program menus showing the food composition of 400 meals (100 meals in each season) were collected. The serving frequency of each dish on the menus was counted. Eighty-seven representative dishes were selected based on the serving frequency and preference for each dish was determined by a survey of 414 elementary school students who were served by the school lunch program. We also analyzed the nutrient contents of each representative dish. Among the prepared foods, children indicated the highest preference for desserts. Steamed rice was served more frequently as a main course than one dish meals, although children preferred one dish meals to steamed rice. Among side dishes, those that were deep-fried were the most preferred. Children indicated high preference for fruits, milk, and eggs, and low preference for fish and clams, vegetables, and beans. The serving frequency with which main courses, soups, and side dishes were served showed no correlation with children's preference for each. Preference for dishes correlated positively with nutrient contents of calories and lipids, but negatively with nutrient contents of fiber, calcium and vitamin A. According to these results we can suggest that dietitian should consider children's preference into greater consideration to increase menu acceptability and thereby reduce waste. Children need to be educated about the roles and contents of nutrients in food and the fact that preference for foods affects nutrient intake.

학습 선호도에 의한 학습 콘텐츠 제안 시스템 (The Propose System of Learning Contents using the Preference of Learner)

  • 웹 기반 학습시스템은 다양하고 방대한 학습 콘텐츠가 운용되고 있다. 그러나 학습자가 학습을 위해 학습 콘텐츠를 선택할 때 이를 자신에 맞도록 효율적으로 구성하기는 매우 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 학습자가 학습을 계획할 때 학습자 프로파일의 학습 히스토리 정보를 기반으로 선호도를 산출하여 학습 콘텐츠를 학습자에게 제안하는 방법을 제시하였다. 학습 선호도 산출은 토픽 선호도 벡터 값으로 산출하여 적용하였다. 학습의 적용 결과로 학습 모집단을 선별하여 학습을 진행하였으며, 학습후의 학습 만족도가 매우 높게 나타남으로서 본 제안방법이 학습자 스스로의 학습 진행에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있음을 제시하였다.

한·일 대학생의 국가 호감도에 미치는 영향 요인 탐색: 미디어 접촉도와 문화 콘텐츠 소비를 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study on Determinants of National Preference between Korean and Japanese College Students: Focusing on Media and Cultural Contents Consumption)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 한국과 일본의 국가 호감도에 미치는 영향 요인을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국 대학생 206명과 일본 대학생 164명, 총 370명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 양 국의 대학생들에게 동일한 설문을 제시하여 상대국에 대한 호감도에 미치는 영향 요인을 탐색하였다. 구체적으로, 한국과 일본 대학생들의 해외 거주 여부와 외국인 친구의 유무와 같은 일반적인 해외 경험과 다문화수용성, 그리고 상대국 방문이나 상대국 출신의 친구의 유무와 같은 직접적인 경험, 그리고 미디어를 통한 상대국의 문화 콘텐츠 접촉과 같은 간접 경험 등의 설문과 국가 호감도에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 상대 국가의 문화 콘텐츠에 대한 인식 등의 개방형 설문 응답의 질적 분석을 통해 국가 호감도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 한국과 일본의 응답을 비교분석하였다. 분석 결과, 한국과 일본 대학생 모두 상대국의 문화 콘텐츠 접촉 빈도가 영향 요인으로 작용하였는데, 한국 대학생은 일본의 문화 콘텐츠 중에서 노래와 출판물의 접촉 빈도가, 일본 대학생은 한국 드라마의 접촉 빈도가 국가 호감도에 긍정적인 영향 요인으로 작용하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구 결과의 학술 및 실무적 함의를 모색하였다.

협업 필터링을 통한 IPTV 프로그램 자동 추천 (Automatic Recommendation of IPTV Programs using Collaborative Filtering)

  • A large amount of efforts are required to search user's preferred contents for the program contents being provided by IPTV services. In this paper, using collaborative filtering, an automatic recommendation method of IPTV program contents is presented by reasoning similar group preferences on IPTV program contents which constitutes personalized IPTV environments. The proposed method models the user's preference of IPTV program contents with the program attributes such as content, genres, channels actor/actress, staffs and calculates it using the watching history of program contents in different genres and watching times. Also, the proposed method considers timely changing user's preference and the preference oon the content itself, which improves the traditional collaborative filtering methods that can not recommend the non-consumed items.

The Evaluation of Web Contents by User 'Likes' Count: An Usefulness of hT-index for Topic Preference Measurement

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest an appropriate index for evaluating preferences of Web contents by examining the h-index and its variants. It focuses on how successfully each index represents relative user preference towards topical subjects. Based on data obtained from a popular IT blog (engadget.com), subject values of the h-index and its variants were calculated using 53 subject categories, article counts and the 'Likes' counts aggregated in each category. These values were compared through critical analysis of the indices and Spearman rank correlation analysis. A PFNet (Pathfinder Network) of subjects weighted by $h_T$ values was drawn and cluster analysis was conducted. Based on the four criteria suggested for the evaluation of Web contents, we concluded that the $h_T$-index is a relatively appropriate tool for the Web contents preference evaluation. The $h_T$-index was applied to visually represent the relative weight (topic preference by user 'Likes' count) for each subject category of the real online contents after suggesting the relative appropriateness of the $h_T$-index. Applying scientometric indicators to Web information could provide new insights into, and potential methods for, Web contents evaluation. In addition, information on the focus of users' attention would help online informants to plan more effective content strategies. The study tries to expand the application area of the h-type indices to non-academic online environments. The research procedure enables examination of the appropriateness of the index and highlights considerations for applying the indicators to Web contents.

위편성물의 혼용률 및 편환장이 주관적 질감과 선호도에 미치는 영향 -구조방정식 이용- (Effects of Fiber Contents and Loop Length of Weft Knit on Subjective Texture and Preference-Using SEM-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the relationship model among subjective texture and preference of weft knit according to fiber contents of wool/rayon and loop length by integrating previous research work. SPSS and SEM method using AMOS program were used to analyze data which used to correlation matrix to be standardized. The texture of weft knit were classified into 4 categories: irregularity, flexibility, bulkiness, extensibility. The fiber contents of wool/rayon had effect positively on irregularity, bulkiness and extensibility and that had little effect on preference. The loop length had effect positively on irregularity, flexibility and extensibility and that had effect negatively on preference. This measurement model will be input for testing causal research model that can explain how fiber contents of wool/rayon and loop length of weft knit influence on subjective texture.

위편성 니트 소재의 선호도에 관한 연구 (Studies on the preference of weft knit fabrics)

  • This study aims to examine the effect of structural properties, subjective textures, sensibilities, and objective handle on the preference for weft knit fabrics, and then to provide useful information in planning and designing knit fabrics through predicting the preference. We made 20 plain knit fabrics, as specimens, with a combination of 5 kinds of wool/rayon fiber contents and 4 kinds of stitch loop length. For the subjective evaluation of textures, sensibilities, and preference, we used the questionnaire that had been developed in the previous study. The data analysis was conducted with Pearson's correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncann multiple range test and regression analysis. The results are as follows: In relationship of structural properties and preference, we could not recognize any difference in whole ranges of wool/ rayon fiber contents and in 7.5mm and less stitch loop length. On the other hand, we could find the decrease of preference in over 7.5mm stitch loop length. As to subjective textures and sensibilities, a multiple regression analysis of preference indicated a higher determination coefficient by sensibilities than by textures. But there were little correlation between a objective handle and preference of weft knit fabrics.

  • When multimedia contents are adapted to different terminals in the ubiquitous computing environment, the contents' modalities can be converted variously. In this paper, we present an efficient user preference that enable user to specify his choices on the modalities of the adapted contents. We also propose the methods to systematically integrate the user preference into the content adaptation process. This modality conversion preference has been developed as a description tool for MPEG-21 Digital Item Adaptation (DIA).
