  • To develop a potent strain for the production of coenzyme $Q_{10}$, a photosynthetic bacterium was isolated from silt of the Nakdong River in Korea. Using l6S-rDNA sequence analysis, the isolated strain was identified as Rhodobacter sphaeroides. A stable improvement in its $CoQ_{10}$ content was achieved by chemical mutation, upon which the content of $CoQ_{10}$(2.94 mg/g dry cell) was increased by approximately 1.9-fold, comparable to that of R. sphaeroides reported in other studies. The isolate is a potentially valuable microorganism for mass production of $CoQ_{10}$, and may provide an appropriate model for further study of economical mass production.

  • With the advance of ICT technology, E-Commerce is getting popular and used widely in daily life. Nowaday's commercial videos are also being used extensively to introduce commercial products to consumers. Most commercial companies are advertising their products on the internet with images and videos through online sharing sites. Putting pre-recorded videos online is easy, but it is difficult for sellers to interact with customers. Live Streaming is the transmission of digital content directly to the Internet in real time. Although there are many services available that provide live streaming on the internet, most are limited in the content they transmit. Building live streaming servers using open source projects will help users master the content which conveys to their customers. In this paper, we will consider implementation of Live Streaming Server for Video Commerce using Open Source.

  • Common stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) display has a convergence and accommodation conflict that violates the natural human cognitive process of viewing. This weakness exposes the challenge in supporting fun factors while eliminating safety problems in the 3D viewing experience. Thus, human factors have become a major research topic. In this letter, we propose a 3D stereoscopic visualization platform that can expand the sense of a 3D space by fusing organically mixed stereoscopic displays to provide a continuous feeling of 3D depth. In addition, we present pilot test results to show the possibility of the technical implementation of the proposed platform and note ongoing research issues to be addressed.

  • In this letter, we propose a dual autostereoscopic display platform employing a natural interaction method, which will be useful for sharing visual data with users. To provide 3D visualization of a model to users who collaborate with each other, a beamsplitter is used with a pair of autostereoscopic displays, providing a visual illusion of a floating 3D image. To interact with the virtual object, we track the user's hands with a depth camera. The gesture recognition technique we use operates without any initialization process, such as specific poses or gestures, and supports several commands to control virtual objects by gesture recognition. Experiment results show that our system performs well in visualizing 3D models in real-time and handling them under unconstrained conditions, such as complicated backgrounds or a user wearing short sleeves.

  • As a follow-up study to identify references for threshold concepts in science, 20 high school chemistry teachers were interviewed. Seven concepts were identified as threshold concepts. The data revealed that teachers overcome the thresholds while they are teaching as well as learning during their school years. This explains that the mastery experience of threshold concepts involve not only the process of creating subject matter knowledge of a learner but also the reflection on or preparation for teaching. Hence, the current study proposes that a strong relationship exists between the mastery experience of threshold concepts and the development of teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). In this regard, findings from this study will provide valuable information to understand the nature of threshold concepts and suggests the value of mastery experience of threshold concepts in terms of PCK development.

  • This study discussed the change of housing environmental problems from the early 1900s to the present. The reason is to find the solution of serious housing environment problems. The documentary research method was used for this study.Articles of content analysis(N= 1129)were published in 1920(the first edition)to December. 31, 1990 which were The Dong - A daily news article about housing environment. The main content of this study was examined the change, such as the number of whole article by time series and importance of article(column number of article), classification of article subject, and the number of article by subject. On the basis of this data, was made by chronological classification of the change of housing environment problems for 70 years. Since overall results will become supply of right information about housing environment to fur peoples, will provide the oppronment that oneself ran participate the protection of housing environment, and further will take a part solution of housing environment problems. At the future, I am going to design deep analysis of article content by subject.

  • At present, the antiwashout underwater concretes are used as popular construction materials in European countries, the United States and Japan. The water-soluble polymers in the antiwashout underwater concretes provide excellent segregation or washout resistance, self-compaction and self-leveling property to the concretes. The purpose of this study is to recommend to optimum mix proportions of antiwashout underwater concretes according to compressive strength of 300kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 500kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The antiwashout underwater concretes are prepared with various unit cement content, unit water content, sand-aggregate ratio, unit antiwashout agent and superplasticizer content. And they are tested for flowability, and compressive strength. From the test results, it is possible to recommend the optimum mix proportions of antiwashout underwater concretes according to compressive strengths within the range of 300kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 500kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • Text-based image retrieval is not only cumbersome as it requires the manual input of keywords by the user, but is also limited in the semantic approach of keywords. However, content-based image retrieval enables visual processing by a computer to solve the problems of text retrieval more fundamentally. Vision applications such as extraction and mapping of image characteristics, require the processing of a large amount of data in a mobile environment, rendering efficient power consumption difficult. Hence, an effective image retrieval method on mobile platforms is proposed herein. To provide the visual meaning of keywords to be inserted into images, the efficiency of image retrieval is improved by extracting keywords of exchangeable image file format metadata from images retrieved through a content-based similar image retrieval method and then adding automatic keywords to images captured on mobile devices. Additionally, users can manually add or modify keywords to the image metadata.
