  • There has been equipped wireless network infrastructure making possible to contact mobile computing at buildings, university, airport etc. Due to increase of mobile user dramatically, it raises interest about application and importance of LBS. The purpose of this study is to develop an indoor positioning system which is position of mobile users using Wireless LAN signal strength. We present Euclidean distance model and Bayesian inference model for analyzing position determination. The experimental results showed that the positioning of Bayesian inference model is more accurate than that of Euclidean distance model. In case of static target, the positioning accuracy of Bayesian inference model is within 2 m and increases when the number of cumulative tracking points increase. We suppose, however, Bayesian inference model using 5- cumulative tracking points is the most optimized thing, to decrease operation rate of mobile instruments and distance error of tracking points by movement of mobile user.

  • RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology, automatic identification and data capture technologies in ubiquitous computing is an essential skill. Low-cost Radio Frequency Identification tags using memory and no physical contact due to the ease of use and maintenance of excellence are going to use expanded. However, it is possible to the illegal acquisition of the information between RFID tags and readers because RFID uses the RF signal, and the obtained information can be used for the purpose of location tracking and invasion of privacy. In this paper, we proposed the security scheme to protect against the illegal user location tracking and invasion of privacy. The security scheme proposed in this paper, using Gray Code and reduced the capacity of the calculation of the actual tags, However, it is impossible for the malicious attacker to track information because tag information transmitted from the reader is not fixed. Therefore, even if the tags information is obtained by a malicious way, our scheme provides more simple and safe user privacy than any other protection methods to protect user privacy, because not actual information but encrypted information is becoming exposed.

  • This paper deals with the design of the L-band rotary joint, which is a core part of the tracking radar system. The rotary joint is a part that is mounted on the rotating parts of the tracking system antenna, which smoothly transmits RF signals with minimizing signal insertion loss. To improve the insertion loss of rotary joint, 1) dielectric materials, 2) design of distribution ring and 3)dielectric shape are studied. The performance of proposed rotary joint is compared with the conventional product. The prototype rotary joint showed a max insertion loss of 0.68dB, that is improved about 46% compare with conventional product which insertion loss was 1.26dB.

  • The HDD(hard disk drive) using Load/unload(L/UL) technology includes the benefits which are increased areal density, reduced power consumption and improved shock resistance than those of contact-start-stop(CSS). It has been widely used in portable hard disk drive and will become the key technology for developing the small form factor hard disk drive. The main objects of L/UL are no slider-disk contact or no media damage. For realizing those, we must consider many design parameters in L/UL system. In this paper, we focus on lift-off force. The 'lift-off' force, defined as the minimum air bearing force, is another very important indicator of unloading performance. A large amplitude of lift-off force increases the ramp force, the unloading time, the slider oscillation and contact-possibility. To minimize 'lift-off' force we optimizes the slider and suspension using the integrated optimization frame, which automatically integrates the analysis with the optimization and effectively implements the repetitive works between them. In particular, this study is carried out the optimal design considering the process of modes tracking through the entire optimization processes. As a result, we yield the equation which can easily find a lift-off force and structural optimization for suspension.

  • In this paper, experimental studies of force tracking control for the crack sealing robot are presented. Crack sealing robot is built to detect, track and seal the crack on the pavement. Before sealing, crack must be detected by a laser sensor and a camera sensor, then cleaned for a better sealing job. In order to maintain contact with the ground force control is required to brush all dirt in the crack out for preparing sealing cracks with tars. Impedance control algorithm is presented to regulate a specified desired force. Experimental studies of the proposed force control algorithm are conducted under unknown environment stiffness and location. Performances of force control algorithm are stable and excellent.

  • In this paper, aging characteristics of outdoor silicone rubber insulator resulting from the acid rain have been investigated with regards to nitrate ion $({NO_{3}}^{-1})$. For this purpose, silicone rubber was aged by immersing into the nitric solutions with different level pH during 1500 hours and various tests (tracking, $tan{\delta}$, breakdown voltage, SEM, EDS, contact angle) were performed. It was observed that the degradation was increased to pH 2.5 slightly and at pH 1.5 highly. And thus, it could be expected that there is certain critical point between pH 1.5 and 2.5, which leads to throught degradation.

  • Numerical simulation is performed for microdroplet deposition on a pre-patterned micro-structure. The level-set method for tracking the liquid-gas interface is extended to treat the immersed (or irregular-shaped) solid surface. The no-slip condition at the fluid-solid interface as well as the matching conditions at the liquid-gas interface is accurately imposed by incorporating the ghost fluid approach based on a sharp-interface representation. The method is further extended to treat the contact angle condition at an immersed solid surface. The present computation of a patterning process using microdroplet ejection demonstrates that the multiphase characteristics between the liquid-gas-solid phases can be used to improve the patterning accuracy.
