Since high-speed train is a dynamic load in which electric power is externally supplied, contact loss between the catenary and pantograph occurs. This phenomena including vibrations generates frequently irregular arcs, which, in turn causes EMI. Thus it is very important to develop the approach to reduce arc phenomenon by contact loss, as speed of electric railway vehicle increases. In case of an electric railway vehicle using electrical power, compared with diesel rolling stock, Power Line Disturbance(PLD) such as harmonics, transient voltage and current, Electromagnetic Interference(EMI), and dummy signal injection etc usually occur. In this study, the dynamic characteristics of a contact wire and a pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed train are investigated with an electrical response point. To implement power line disturbance induced by contact loss phenomenon for high speed train operation, a hardware simulator which considers contact loss between contact wire and pantograph as well as contact wire deviation is developed. It is confirmed by the experiments that contact loss effect is largely dependent on voltage conditions when the contact loss occurs. Also, a passive filter is designed to reduce power disturbance and the designed system is verified by experiment.
This paper presents a novel spring pressure contact interconnect technique for medium power integrated power electronics modules (IPEMs). The key technology of this interconnection is a spring which is made from Be-Cu alloy. By means of the string pressure contact, sufficient press-contact force and good electrical interconnection can be achieved. Another important advantage is that the spring exhibits excellent performance in enduring thermo-mechanical stress. In terms of manufacture procedure, it is also comparatively simple. A 4 kW half-bridge power inverter module is fabricated to demonstrate the performance of the proposed pressure contact technique. Electrical, thermal and mechanical test results of the packaged device are reported. The results of both the simulation and experiment have proven that a good performance can be achieved by the proposed pressure contact technique for the medium power IPEMs.
In this paper, an effect on power conversion unit in high-speed railway vehicle by loss of contact between a catenary system and pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed railway vehicle are investigated. One of the most important needs accompanied by increasing the speed of high-speed railway vehicle is reduced that arc phenomenon by loss of contact brings out EMI. in case of high-speed railway vehicle using electrical power, as comparison with diesel rolling stock, PLD(Power Line Disturbance) such as harmonic, transient voltage and current, EMI, dummy signal injection etc usually occur. To analysis the effect on loss of contact, it is necessary electrical modeling system between the contact line and the pantograph according to the loss of contact. Therefore analytical model of a contact line and a pantograph is constructed to simulate the behaviour of loss of contact. The reliability of the modeling system is verified by simulation implementation on kinds of loss of contact.
In this study, the dynamic characteristic of a contact wire and pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed trains are investigated from an electrical response point of view. To analysis power line disturbance by induced contact loss phenomenon for high speed operation, a hardware Simulator which considered contact loss between contact wire and the pantograph as well as contact wire deviation is developed. It is confirmed that a contact wire and pantograph model are necessary for studying the dynamic behavior of the pantograph system. One of the most important needs accompanied by increasing the speed of high-speed train is reduced that an arc phenomenon by loss of contact brings out EMI. In case of a high-speed train using electrical power, as comparison with diesel rolling stock, PLD(Power Line Disturbance) such as harmonic, transient voltage and current, EMI(Electromagnetic Interference), dummy signal injection etc usually occurs. Throughout experiment, it is verified that an arc phenomenon is brought out for simulator operation and consequently conducted noise is flowed in electric circuit by power line disturbance.

This paper presents the 3D finite element analysis of the Contact-less Power Supply(CPS) with linear servo motor. The primary, secondary self and leakage inductances of the contact-less power supply and the capacitances of a resonant circuit are calculated by the finite element analysis using current source. The voltage source is used to do accurate analysis of the characteristics of the contact-less power supply. The CPS with the linear servo motor is proposed. The characteristics analysis of the contact-less power supply considering the linear servo motor is done.

This paper conducts a study on a non-contact power delivering system using high-frequency inverter with the purpose of discussing the non-contact electric power transmission characteristics through circuit analysis, magnetic analysis and feasible experiments. In this power delivering scheme, various properties pertaining to the non-contact transformer of the power system such as the design, the core depth, core material, primary side frequency etc. are considered with a view of improving the non-contact power dilivery to the secondary.
Continuously variable transmission (CVT) of toroidal type has a elliptical shape of contact zone under the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) condition, where the power is transmitted only by shearing the lubricant. Due to the small contact area of elliptical shape, the traction of the shear behaviors of lubricant over the contact zone is under extremely high contact pressure over 1.0GPa. During the power transmission by shearing the fluid, many kinds of mechanical movements occur such as squeezing, sliding, rolling and spin. Among the movements, the spin effect that is the most undesirable contact behavior in transmitting the power frequently makes significant abnormal wear damage. In this work, the analysis of elliptical contact of EHL with spin effect is performed, which will give very useful information to understand the traction behaviors in toroidal type of CVT system.

In this paper, a practical implementation to reduce leakage flux of a high-frequency inverter based non-contact type power transformer composed of EE-shape ferrite cores is presented for key technology of the next generation medical use X-ray CT scanner system. Design consideration for the unique structure of the non-contact power transformer with 900mm in diameter is also introduced. The complete non-contact transformer is actually arranged by several blocks of the magnetic circuit assembled by using 10 small EE shape cores with 120mm in length. It is experimentally and analytically discussed from a reduced leakage flux viewpoint related to its inductively coupling coefficient. A practical method to lower the leakage flux is described based on effective Copper-Sheet- Treatment placed on EE shape ferrite cores of magnetic circuit.

Non-contact power supply (NCPS), as a clean and safe energy supply concept has been applying wildly. Comparing with the conventional transformer the non-contact transformer has a large air gap between the long primary winding and the secondary winding. Due to it, the non-contact transformer has increased leakage inductance and reduced magnetizing inductance. So the high frequency series resonant converter has been widly used on the non-contact power supply system for transferring the primary power to the secondary one, from what a high influence voltage can be gained on the secondry coil even though the large air gap exists. However, it still has the disadvantages of the load sensitive voltage gain characteristics when load is changing. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy logic controller to adjust the frequency of the inverter to track the resonat which is changing when the load is change.
