열간 압연공정의 강판 온도 분포 해석 (Bar Temperature Analysis of a Hot Rolling Process.)

  • 본 논문에서는 열간압연공정중 소재가 가열로에서 추출되어 조압연 공정을 마치기 까지 소재인 slab의 온도변화추이를 해석키 위하여 rolling process 상에서 온도에 영얄을 미치는 인자인 1) 대기중 복사 및 대류에 의한 냉각 2) 소성가공발열 3) descaling water에 의한 수냉각 4) rolling roll, 운반 roll과의 접촉냉각등 제요인에 관한 사항을 rolling process 상에서의 문제로 평가도입하여 해석하고저 하는 slab 표면에서의 경계조건 설정과 관련한 적용기법을 정립하였고 소재의 냉각 현상을 two dimensional transient heat flow문제로 취급, 유한차분방정식을 이용하여 해석하는 과정과 관련 rollinh작업을 sequence화 하여 적용하는 기법을 제시하였다. simulation 결과 계산치와 실계측편차 (${\pm}18^{\circ}C$)범위내에서 일치함을 제시하였고 또한 rolling event 별로 나타나는 온도하강 pattern이 실제의 압연상황과 잘 일치함을 제시하므로서 본 computer simulation 과정에서 적용한 가정, 조건, 물성치 등의 적정성 등을 입증하였다.

Water Repellency on a Nanostructured Superhydrophobic Carbon Fibers Network

  • For decades, carbon fiber has expanded their application fields from reinforced composites to energy storage and transfer technologies such as electrodes for super-capacitors and lithium ion batteries and gas diffusion layers for proton exchange membrane fuel cell. Especially in fuel cell, water repellency of gas diffusion layer has become very important property for preventing flooding which is induced by condensed water could damage the fuel cell performance. In this work, we fabricated superhydrophobic network of carbon fiber with high aspect ratio hair-like nanostructure by preferential oxygen plasma etching. Superhydrophobic carbon fiber surfaces were achieved by hydrophobic material coating with a siloxane-based hydrocarbon film, which increased the water contact angle from $147^{\circ}$ to $163^{\circ}$ and decreased the contact angle hysteresis from $71^{\circ}$ to below $5^{\circ}$, sufficient to cause droplet roll-off from the surface in millimeter scale water droplet deposition test. Also, we have explored that the condensation behavior (nucleation and growth) of water droplet on the superhydrophobic carbon fiber were significantly retarded due to the high-aspect-ratio nanostructures under super-saturated vapor conditions. It is implied that superhydrophobic carbon fiber can provide a passage for vapor or gas flow in wet environments such as a gas diffusion layer requiring the effective water removal in the operation of proton exchange membrane fuel cell. Moreover, such nanostructuring of carbon-based materials can be extended to carbon fiber, carbon black or carbon films for applications as a cathode in lithium batteries or carbon fiber composites.

비원형 유성기어열을 사용한 이앙기 식부기구의 설계 (Design of a rice transplanting mechanism with noncircular planetary-gear-train system)

  • Transplanting accuracy of a rice transplanter mainly depends on the trajectory of the hoe for picking, conveying and transplanting of seedlings as well as the return motion. The trajectory can be decided and prescribed to be suitable in treating seedlings fur a prevailing soil condition. For the purpose of the transplanting accuracy, the design of a transplanting mechanism would be carried out using a planetary-gear-train system instead of the four bar linkage system. In this study, a design method of transplanting mechanism is theoretically proposed by synthesizing a noncircular planetary-gear-train system fur the tool (hoe) to trace a prescribed trajectory. The method utilizes an optimization approach to decide the lengths of an arm and a tool, the inverse kinematics to figure out the configuration angles of the two links, the roll contact condition in transmitting motion between the gears, and a linearization approach to obtain the shapes of the gears. Based on the proposed method, the shapes of the gears and the lengths of the tools of the planetary-gear-train system are determined fur three prescribed trajectories. A kinematical simulation with a commercialized package program is also carried out to confirm that the gear-train system synthesized with the proposed method is able to trace the prescribed trajectory.

Benchmark Results on the Linearized Equations of Motion of an Uncontrolled Bicycle

  • In this paper we present the linearized equations of motion for a bicycle as a benchmark. The results obtained by pencil-and-paper and two programs are compared. The bicycle model we consider here consists of four rigid bodies, viz. a rear frame, a front frame being the front fork and handlebar assembly, a rear wheel and a front wheel, which are connected by revolute joints. The contact between the knife-edge wheels and the flat level surface is modelled by holonomic constraints in the normal direction and by non-holonomic constraints in the longitudinal and lateral direction. The rider is rigidly attached to the rear frame with hands free from the handlebar. This system has three degrees of freedom, the roll, the steer, and the forward speed. For the benchmark we consider the linearized equations for small perturbations of the upright steady forward motion. The entries of the matrices of these equations form the basis for comparison. Three diffrent kinds of methods to obtain the results are compared : pencil-and-paper, the numeric multibody dynamics program SPACAR, and the symbolic software system Auto Sim. Because the results of the three methods are the same within the machine round-off error, we assume that the results are correct and can be used as a bicycle dynamics benchmark.

Friction and Wear of Nitrogen Incorporated Diamond-like Carbon Films Under a Vacuum

  • Tribological behaviors of nitrogen incorporated amorphous diamond-like carbon films were experimentally measured under a vacuum ($3 \times 10^{-5}$ Torr) using a ball (AISI 52100 steel)-on-disk wear-rig. Nitrogen incorporated DLC films were deposited by r.f. plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition method. Mixtures of benzene and ammonia or nitrogen gases were used as the reaction gases for the r.f. PACVD, and Si (100) wafer was used as the substrate. In the tribo-test, effects of DLC film thickness and normal load in friction were measured and discussed. Results showed that friction of nitrogen incorporated DLC films from a mixture gas of benzene and ammonia was lower than that of 100% benzene, specially in the measurement of minimum coefficient of friction. Differences in frictional characteristics of nitrogen incorporated DLC films were explained with the changes in chemical structures of the films. Result also showed that friction of DLC films increased with the sliding contact cycle, which remarkably accompanied with roll-shaped wear debris. Mechanisms and roles of the polymer-like wear debris were presented and discussed.

단롤법으로 제조한 AISI 310 스테인레스강의 급냉 조직에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Microstructure of Melt-Quenched AISI 310 Stainless Steel)

  • Melt-quenching of steels leads to various metallographic effects such as refinement of grain size, extension of the solid solubility of carbon and alloying elements, and is expected to improve the mechanical properties of conventional steels. Furthermore, this technique is a useful method for producing sheet directly from liquid state. And it will lend itself to development as a continuous cast process which offers significant savings in energy and product costs. The purpose of this study is to present the microstructures of melt-quenched austenitic stainless steels. As the results of this study, the morphology of melt-quenched microstructure show that the roll contact area is columnar structure, and the free surface area is dendrite structure. As the line speed increases, the ratio of $d_{colunnar}/d_{total}$ increases from 0.12 to 0.60, but the ribbon thickness decreases from $150{\mu}m$ to $30{\mu}m$.

파이프 골조 온실의 구조 및 유지관리실태 조사분석 (A Field Survey on the Structure and Maintenance Status of Pipe Framed Greenhouses)

  • An investigation was conducted to get the basic data for establishing maintenance strategy of pipe framed greenhouses. The contents of the investigation consisted of actual state of structures, maintenance status, meteorological disaster, and corrosion characteristics of pipe framework in greenhouses. the number of greenhouses investigated was 108 in total. Most multi-span greenhouses had narrower width and lower height than the standared 1-2W greenhouse, and most of single-span greenhouses were tunnel type. In multi-span greenhouses, the size and interval of frameworks such as rafter, purline, column , and cross beam were mostly suitable, but frameworks of single-span greenhouses were mostly insufficient. After about 7 years in grounds, 8 years in joints, 10 years in bending parts. and 13 years in columns. pipe surface was mostly rusted. Most weak parts in corrosion were pipes in contact with the ground, joints, roll-up shaft pipes, and pipes close to the gutter. Almost all of the greenhouse farmers didn't pay any attention to maintenance affair in a regular interval for pipe framed grenhouses. Many greenhouses have experienced the meteorologicla diaster such as uplift of foundation, partial or complete failure by the hyphoon and/or high winds.

두 회전 롤러 사이의 유체 Splitting Point에 관한 연구 (The Splitting Point of Liquid Film between two Rotating Rollers)

  • The liquid film behavior between two rotating rollers has been analyzed for many years. Their contributions were, however, limited almost within the areas of polymer laminar flow in there. When the slip contact of two rotating rollers is used as a role of vehicle to distribute the liquid discharged on to each roller after splitting from the nip, there was few available relationship to control the roller speed and to design system. On this work it was possible to get out a certain relationship between the discharged film thickness ratio and the roller surface seeds without any help of pressure limit at the splitting point. The hydrodynamic analyzation of Newtonian liquid behavior around the point was well proved on some manipulative experiment. The thickness ratio increases along with the roll surface speed ratio increases. And the discharged volume flow rate ratio on each roller surface varies with square of the speed ratio. Both of these relationship have a decision factor also made up by the speed ratio.

Fe 도핑된 TiO2와 헥사데실트리메톡시실란를 이용한 셀프클리닝 섬유의 제조 및 평가 (Preparation and Evaluation of Self-cleaning Fabrics using Fe-doped TiO2 and Hexadecyltrimethoxysilane)

  • Self-cleaning fabric is a fabric having a function of decotamination via photodecomposition of photocatalyst or wash-off of contaminants on the superhydrophobic surface. TiO2 is the main photocatalyst for this purpose, but it only functions under UV light which is only a little portion of sunlight, compared to visible light. In this regard, this study aims to investigate Fe-doped TiO2 for improved photodecomposition from visible light sensitization to apply self-cleaning finishing of PET fabrics. Moreover, the Fe-doped TiO2 treated PET fabric was further treated with hexadecyltrimethoxysilane to provide superhydrophobicity on the PET fabrics. As a result of this dual treatment, the prepared fabric exhibited excellent photodecomposition of methylene blue with 96.96% in 12h under sunlight and superhydrophobicity with water contact angle of 166.5° and roll-off angle of 7°. This suggested that the excellent self-cleaning functions can be privided to PET fabric via Fe-doped TiO2 and hexadecyltrimethoxysilane treatment.

카메라 렌즈 표면에 형성된 미세 패턴의 내구성 향상 기법 제안 (Proposed Approaches on Durability Enhancement of Small Structure fabricated on Camera Lens Surface)

  • In this study, approached to improve durability of the multi-functional nano-pattern fabricated on the curved lens surface using nanoimprint lithography (NIL) was proposed, and the effects of the proposed methods on functionality after wear test were examined. To improve the mechanical property of ultraviolet(UV)-curable resin, UV-NIL was conducted at the elevated temperature around $60^{\circ}C$. In addition, micro/nano hierarchical structures was fabricated on the lens surface with a durable film mold. Analysis on the worn surfaces of nano-hole pattern and hierarchical structures and measurements on the static water contact angle and critical water volume for roll-off indicated that the UV curing process with elevated temperature is effective to maintain wettability by increasing hardness of resin. Also, it was found that the micro-scale pattern is effective to protect nano-pattern from damage during wear test.
