The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between clothing Brand Loyalty and lifestyles The questionnaire was administered to 644 males and females aged 30-40 in Taegu during November 24 to November 28 of 1997. Data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, reliability test MANOVA and ANOVA by using SPSS package. 1. The lifestyles of the responednts were classified into five types such as consumption-oriented, economics-oriented, social-oriented, family-oriented, and conservative-oriented type. 2. The results of clothing Brand Loyalty and lifestyle analysis were as follows; 1) In case of males, the group of consumption-oriented type and in case of females, three groups of consumption-oriented, social-oriented and family-oriented types had great concern for brand loyalty in lifestyles and brand loyalty. 2) With relation to brand loyalty and lifestyles, thirties-aged respondents had a positive tendency to brand loyalty in consumption-oriented and social-oriented types, but forties-aged ones had a positive tendency to brand loyalty in consumption-oriented, social-oriented and family-oriented types. 3) With relation among the academic careers, lifestyles and brand loyalty, three groups(consumption-oriented, social-oriented and family-oriented types) under high-school graduates made high response to brand loyalty, and two groups (consumption-oriented and social-oriented types) of college graduates showed something responsive to it and the consumption -oriented persons of graduate school and upward made response to brand loyalty. 4) With relation among an income, brand loyalty and lifestyles, three types(consumption-oriented, social-oriented and family-oriented types) of an income not exceeding one million and half won a month were related to brand loyalty. And two types(consumption-oriented and social-oriented types) of an income below two million won a month made high response to brand loyalty. And the consumption-oriented type of an income below three million won and more than three million and half a month made good response to brand loyalty. 5) In general relation between brand loyalty and five lifestyles, the consumption-oriented type made positive response to brand loyalty and the social-oriented type was in the second place and the family-oriented type ranked next to the social-oriented type. But the economics-oriented and conservative-oriented type were not related to brand loyalty. 6) It was found that there was a difference between brand loyalty and the same lifestyle according to individual characteristics.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the situation of bi-polarized consumption in China before and after the global financial crisis, to find the factors causing bi-polarized consumption, and to suggest some policies for Korean enterprises. The findings are as follows. First, before the global financial crisis, in China, there were bi-polarized consumption among classes, and between urban and rural areas, and bi-polarization of individual consumption. The sales of both low price goods and high price goods increased more than that of middle price goods. Second, after the global financial crisis, the trend of bi-polarized consumption in China is stronger than those of other countries. The sales of both low price goods and high price goods in China increase more than in other countries. Third, the factors causing bi-polarized consumption are bi-polarized income, black and grey incomes, "Mianz" culture, the increase of unemployment, and the changing form of family. Especially, the level of formal income is not only high, but the level of black and grey income is also very high. And "Mianz" culture means the conspicuous consumption. The degree of the conspicuous consumption of China is very high in comparison with other countries because "Mianz" culture is strong. Finally, the paper suggests strategies appropriate for bi-polarized consumption with Chinese characteristics.
Purpose - Carbon emission standards are based on the "production-based carbon emissions" generated by the production of goods in the relevant country which were the existing measurement methods. However, can such carbon emissions measurement standards be established international? For example, some of the goods produced in developing countries are produced for the demand of developed countries. The method of measuring carbon emission based on the final demand of a certain country is called "consumption-based carbon emissions." This study compares productionand consumption-based CO2 emissions according to economic growth in ninety-three countries categorized by income level. Design/methodology - Our empirical model considers the difference between production- and consumption-based CO2 emissions according to economic growth. Also, our model investigated whether the EKC hypothesis in most of the previous studies that had been based on production-based emissions was also established in the consumption-based emission model. Considering the continuous characteristics of CO2, we utilized the generalized method of moments (GMM), specifically a system GMM econometric technique because CO2 in the previous period can affect CO2 in the present period. Findings - Our main findings can be summarized as follows: The results show that for the consumption-based CO2 emissions model, CO2 continuously increases as economic growth increases in the upper-middle income countries. The inverted U-shaped result was found in the case of the production-based model. However, in the lower-income countries, an inverted-U shape in which CO2 emissions decrease at some point as the economy grows in the production-based model does not appear. On the other hand, in the consumption-based model, an inverted U-shaped result was obtained when estimating with system-GMM. Additionally, the proportion of manufacturing, energy imports, and energy consumption had an effect on both the production- and the consumption-based model regardless of the group's CO2 emissions. On the basis of such assessments, policymakers need to consider not only production- but also consumption-based options. Originality/value - Previous studies have mainly focused on production-based CO2 emissions, with most of them revolving around economic growth or the effect of various social and economic factors on CO2 emissions. However, this study considers the relationship with economic growth using consumption-based emissions as a dependent variable by classifying ninety-three countries by income level.

Global warming caused by excessive greenhouse gas emission is causing climate change all over the world. In Korea, greenhouse gas emission from residential buildings accounts for about 10% of gross domestic emission. Also, the number of deteriorated multi-family housing complexes is increasing. Therefore, the goal of this research is to establish the bases to manage energy consumption continuously and methodically during MR&R period of multi-family housings. The research process and methodologies are as follows. First, research team collected the data on project characteristics and energy consumption of multi-family housing complexes in Seoul. Second, an ontology-based breakdown structure was established with some primary characteristics affecting the energy consumption, which were selected by statistical analysis. Finally, a predictive model of energy consumption was developed based on the ontology-based breakdown structure, with application of CBR, ANN, MRA and GA. In this research, PASW (Predictive Analytics SoftWare) Statistics 18, Microsoft EXCEL, Protege 4.1 were utilized for data analysis and prediction. In future research, the model will be more continuous and methodical by developing the web-base system. And it has facility manager of government or local government, or multi-family housing complex make a decision with definite references regarding moderate energy consumption.

Recently, it is certain that the increase of heating and cooling energy consumption by radical change in climate condition has caused serious problems related to environmental and energy concerns associated with increase of fossil fuel usage and carbon dioxide production as well as global warming. So, various actions to reduce greenhouse gas exhaustion and energy consumption have been prepared by world developed countries. Our government has also been trying to seek energy control methods for houses and buildings by proclaiming political polices on low-carbon green growth and construction and performance standards for environment-friendly housing. The energy consumption by buildings approximately reaches 25% of total korea energy consumption, and the increasing rate of energy consumption by buildings is stiffer than the rate by the other industries. The greatest part in the buildings of the energy consumption is building facade. While lots of research projects for reducing energy consumption of the facade have been conducted, but a few research projects on concrete comprising more than 70% of outsider of buildings has been tried. This research presents here a study to improve the insulation property of structural concrete formed by micro form admixture (MFA) with experimentally reviewing the physical, mechanical and thermal characteristics of the concrete. As the results of this experiment, in the case of concrete mixed with MFA, slump loss has been improved. As the mixing ratio of MFA increases, the compressive strength is decreased and thermal conductivity is increased. Also it was found that water-cement ratio increases, the compressive strength is decreased and thermal conductivity is increased. but, there was not big influence by the change of fine aggregate ratio.

The variation of spark plug location have one of the effects on combustion characteristics. Several parameters of the effect on combustion characteristics are shape of combustion chamber, the spark plug position, turbulence flow and so on. This paper presents an experimental study according to variation of spark plug protrusion and PDA valve which have effects on characteristics of combustion and emission in single cylinder gasoline engine. Also, this paper emphasized that combustion stabilization was making by way of the reinforcement of the turbulent flow with the PDA valve. A feasibility and necessity of combustion pressure based cylinder spark timing control according to spark plug protrusion has been examined. So, this was obtained COV$\_$imep/ and the mass fraction burned(MFB) and the specific fuel consumption(sfc). Using the results of the test, the effects of the variable spark plug location and PDA valve can be improved fuel consumption and be available for the combustion stability.

With population growth and quality of life improvement, household energy use also has increased. Under this circumstances, consumers are increasingly required to seek for efficient ways of energy saving. However, precedent studies have largely overlooked energy consumers' consumption behavior, and particularly little research has been conducted on energy consumption or saving patterns of residents living in apartments, which account for over 50% of the Korean housing market. Therefore, this study examined apartment residents' energy use behavior according to apartment residents' characteristics in order to efficient energy use and management. To this examination, survey was conducted of housewives living in apartments in Busan, and 403 data were analyzed by the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. With respect to their energy behavior according to characteristics of subjects, it was different depending on income, housing size, age, the length of residence, and the education standard. When higher income group and larger housing size group, residents were not doing 'passive saving' and 'comfort oriented.' When younger, they were 'comfort oriented.' When well-educated, they were 'comfort oriented.' Also, with regard to the length of residence, significant difference was found. The results of this study can be utilized as effective guidelines in efficient management, policy making, and education method reflecting energy use behavior of energy users.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas(LPG) has attracted attention as a alternative fuel. The lean-burn LPG direct injection engine is a promising technology because it has an advantage of lower harmful emissions. This study aims to investigate the effect of combustion strategy and excess air ratio on combustion and emission characteristics in lean-burn LPG direct injection engine. Fuel consumption and combustion stability were measured with change of the ignition timing and injection timing at various air/fuel ratio conditions. The lean combustion characteristics were evaluated as a function of the excess air ratio with the single injection and multiple injection strategy. Furthermore, the feasibility of lean operation with stratified mixture was assessed when comparing the combustion and emission characteristics with premixed lean combustion.
Purpose : To investigate the association between the type of preferred alcoholic beverage and drinking pattern and health characteristics. Methods : A Cross-sectional study was conducted from 22 April to 3 May in 2002. 301 females and 699 males aged 13 to 59 were personally interviewed. Data on sociodemographic characteristics, drinking pattern and health characteristics were collected. 735 drinkers who were 19 year-old or over were included in analysis. Beverage preference was classified 3 categories: Beer drinker, wine drinker(including wine, makguly, chungju and yakju) and soju drinker (including soju and spirits). Results : Beer drinkers were likely to be females. Compared to wine or soju drinkers, beer drinkers were less frequently drank, and consumed less total alcohol per week and less alcohol per 1 drinking among both male and female. Controlling for various confounders, beer drinker had significantly less total alcohol consumption per week, and alcohol consumption per 1 drinking than wine and soju drinker. Conclusion : Beer drinking were associated with less smoking in males and healthy drinking pattern in both gender than soju drinking.

The drying is a process that involves coupled and simultaneous heat and mass transfer. When a wet solid is subjected to thermal drying, two processes occur simultaneously. Drying is classified according to heat transfer characteristics in terms of conduction, convection and radiation. In thermal drying, radiation is easier to control than conduction and convection drying and involves a relatively simple structure. In this study, we measured energy consumption, surface hardness of paint and surface gloss with variation of surface temperature of drying materials and drying time. Drying characteristics and energy consumption between heating panels and hot air heating have been presented. The present study shows that a dryer using heating panels is more effective than a hot air dryer from the viewpoint of energy conservation. The hot air dryer, however, was not optimized and more studies on various parameters related to drying will need to be investigated for definite comparison of drying characteristics of the dryers. The result, even if limited, would present the effective availability of paint drying.
