A Study on the Weights of Capability Evaluation Model for IT Consultant to Implement IT Consulting Service (IT 컨설턴트의 컨설팅 서비스 역량 평가모형 지표의 가중치 연구 : 정보화 전략 계획 수립 중심으로)

  • This paper has explored the analyzing and defining the core competencies of IT consultants who carry out IT consulting projects which desperately are needed by companies to survive in business competitions. Many companies have used IT consultants for their IT projects to achieve their project objectives. The problem of this is the results of IT projects carried out by IT consultants from the recognized consulting firms are quite often criticized by many clients who pay high price for hiring IT consultants. The purpose of this paper is that to weight of capability evaluation model for IT consultants. To define the capability model, I conducted the surveys from the IT professionals by the interview and e-mails. The result of this, this paper defines what core skills IT consultants should have to perform well when they carry out the IT projects. There are 6 major skills and 17 sub skills IT consultants should have in succeeding IT projects. 6 major skills are job competence skill, communication skill, business attitude, vocational values, job performance skill, leadership skill and related 17 sub skill are defined. With the capability evaluation model, the managers who are in the charge of incubating and enhancing the capability of IT consultants in the large corporation and also small, medium companies will utilize their companies' strength to get the advantage on the business competition.

An Analysis on the Competency of School Management Consultants : The Perceptions of Professional and Prospective Consultants (학교경영컨설턴트의 역량 분석 : 전문가와 예비컨설턴트의 인식을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze school management consultants' competency from the perspective of professional and prospective consultants and to draw implications for their competency building and work. To achieve the purpose of this study, an importance survey and a retention survey of school management consultants' competency were performed. The main results are as follows: school management consultants' key competencies are concept, background and principle of school management consulting, process and method of school management consulting, contents of school management, listening and empathy, communication, problem solving, teamwork and collaboration, interpersonal skills, authenticity, commitment. Professional and prospective consultants' perception of school management consultants' competency were different, and importance and retention of prospective consultants' competency changed through the consulting experience. It is significant that the result of this study can be reflected in school management consultants' training and qualification and conform the 'learning' principle of school management consulting.

A Study on Health Promoting Behaviors and Health Problems in Contact Center Consultants (일 지역 컨택센터 상담사의 건강증진행위와 건강문제에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health promoting behaviors and health problems in contact center consultants, and to provide basic data in order to develop health promoting interventions for these people. The subjects were 680 consultants randomly selected from 6 contact centers out of 31 in D city. The data were collected from March 20, to March 28, 2008. Methods: The tools for this study were HPLP II developed by Walker et al. (1995) that was modified and translated by Park (2005) and modified CMI for contact center consultants based on CMI developed by Bordman (1994). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test with the SPSS WIN 14.0 program. Results and Conclusion: The contact center consultants' health promoting behavior was in a low level and they had certain health problems related to their job such as eye, ear and throat. In consideration of contact center consultants' job characteristics, health education should be provided with the development of systematic health programs.
