This paper is intended to describe the idiosyncratic aspects of the verb way construction in English, clarifying the productivity property of this construction and to elucidate the claim that this construction displays the properties of language-general, not a language-particular by comparing the behaviors from Dutch. And this paper will argue against the lexical approach and explain the drastic mismatches in syntax and semantics responsible for the constructional properties as one type of directional motion constructions by proposing a constructional analysis in HPSG.
This paper is primarily intended to provide a new insight on which the structural properties of As-Parenthetical constructions shown by Potts (2002) might be regarded as cross-linguistically common one. As a first attempt, it introduces the characteristics of Korean As-Parenthetical by carefully investigating them through the data, focusing on the similarities or differences between two languages with a constructional theoretical perspective. The paper here provides three properties of Korean as-clauses in the morphological and syntactic aspects. First, the morpheme 'as' in English as-clause would be realized as three different morphemes as a bound one. Korean as-clauses can be introduced by three different morphemes, '-tusi, -chelem, -taylo' and unlike that in English as-clauses, they behave as bound morphemes which do not stand alone. Even though they are attached into different morpho-syntactic stems, they do not make any meaning change only under this clause. Secondly, two syntactic types of as-clauses can also be found in Korean, similarly to those of English: CP-As type and Predicate-As type, depending on which types of gap they involve in. English has one more subtype of Predicate-As type (called inverted Predicate-As clause), while Korean does not show this subtype. Thirdly, the various mismatches attributed by the gap and the antecedent come from the constructional restrictions of as-clauses in Korean. In addition, the paper attempts to display various ambiguities from the as-clauses through disjoint references or negative sentences in As-Parenthetical constructions.

This study was performed to develop a mobile functional pattern reflecting the characteristics of the middle aged women's lower body types based on the slacks construction components. The results and procedures obtained from this study were as follows; 1. The bodys measurement of the 252 middle aged women of 45∼59 years old were used to analyze the size and somato type. 2. For multiple analysis of the lower body types, horizontal and vertical section maps were obtained by sliding gauge method and extracted constructional factors of slacks. 3. The following condition was determined with both standing and moving position of body: (gradient of C.B.L/2)+3°and (back crotch extention)+2cm. 4. Development of new slacks pattern drafting was based on the result of data analysis. Trough the wearing test by the sensory evaluation, It showed that developed slacks pattern was judged better than existing patterns in items of comfort of comfort of silhouette and moving.
English absolutes and free adjuncts, despite their abridged syntactic forms, function as full subordinating adverbial clauses, with their semantic roles varied according to the interpretation of the matrix clauses. This paper investigates how to represent the syntactic structures and semantic variability of absolutes and free adjuncts in a unified way, accounting for overlapping properties among various subtypes of the constructions on the one hand, and differences on the other. In the proposed analysis, the clausal properties of absolutes and free adjuncts are captured by the subject selecting property and the clausal meaning associated with a predicative phrase, thus not calling for a null verb or complementizer. In classifying and defining diverse subtypes of the constructions via type constraints, the present work also provides an account of different uses of with involved in absolutes and free adjuncts.
In the hazardous areas where explosive substances in the form of gases, vapor or mists exist, electrical apparatus and installations must be of explosion-proof construction to prevent or limit the danger of the ignition of potentially explosive atmosphere. In Korea, six types of protection have been specified in the government regulations at present: flameproof enclosure, pressurization, oil immersion, increased safety, intrinsic safety, and special types. If electrical apparatus are made of explosion-proof construction in a way other than five above-mentioned types, and their performance is tested and approved by the reponsible authorities, they may be categorized as special type apparatus. In this paper, we introduced a special type of explosion-proof electrical apparatus, called non-incendive type, and presented its constructional requirements. We also investigated evaluation methods of non-incendive type apparatus to assure the explosion-proof performance, and proposed a new classification method of hazardous areas using probabilistic concept.
Jangan-sa is one of the Buddhist temples in the southeastern seaside district, which was restored directly after the termination of Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. Recently we could find out 4 records on the constructions of Daeoong - jeon in J angan-sa. These are written in the 12th year of Emperor Soonchi, written in the 8th year of Emperor Geonryung, written in 1947 Buddha Era and written in 1951 Buddha Era. Until the revelation of these records, the present building has been considered to be built in 1657, the 8th year of King Hyojong, based upon Kim Bang - han's "Jangan - sa Daeoong - jeon - gi". Because the gongpo of Daeoong - jeon was finished with the type of the late period of Chosun Dynasty, we doubt of the correction on it's building date, just in the year of 1657. Now we are able to examine the building date and the alteration date, based upon the actual measurement and constructional records of Daeoong - jeon. So to speak, the building destroyed in 1592, had been restored in 1658, the 9th year of King Hyojong and was reconstructed in 1744, the 20th year of King Youngjo. Afterward it was repaired on small scales in 1947 and in 1951. Though this building is considered to be lack of the completeness owing to the later alterations, it is still worthy heritage for the research on the building type at the directly after the termination of Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592.
The disk type Single-phase Switched Reluctance Motor has advantages of constructional simplicity, robustness and low cost. In this paper, We analyze the 3-D model of DSPSRM(Disk type Single-Phase Switched Reluctance Motor) by Finite Element Method for finding optimal design model.
Design-build is expanding gradually in large construction projects over 10billion won, and continue to work in health care facilities is increasing in this way. This constructional method in health care facilities, despite the many advantages, many problems caused by design changes are being raised. Raises the question of design changes on the side of construction contract, such as approval systems have been studied in the field of construction. The purpose of this study design in aspects of architectural planning on changing the grasp of the issues outlined in the ITB and bid evaluation criteria through consideration of the basic plan for improvement guidelines and evaluation criteria is presented. In conclusion, Design build, according to the presence of existing users are more likely to lead to design changes. Thus, hospital architecture, depending on how it is considered that constructional methods. And evaluation items of ITB(Invitation To Bidder) for a large part of the change in the variables evaluated in the hospital building is not suitable for the design build. Instead, the overall shape of the building and department, unit type and size, vertical and horizontal parts of the circulation system in the shape of the building that does not change in structure and etc should be considered for evaluation.

This study was performed to ascertain how HyangGyos based on national ideology were built in Jeju Island and what their detailed styles are. In Jeju-HyangGyo, unique architectural characteristics are shown as they have been built in an island independent from the mainland. Also up-down system was well reflected in detailed architectural styles. The main temple of Jeju-HyangGyo was built in the type of one-Chulmok(a subsidiary material of Gongpo and a piece of wood to support the eaves) of which ancon supports a purline from the center of a pillar and two-Ikgong(a piece of wood engraved to put on an ancon), but in the case of the lecture hall, its Gongpo(a piece of wood to support the eaves) was inferior in quality. In the case of Jeju abutments were used in main temples and fire walls were mostly used. In particular, their abutments are difficult to be observed in HyangGyo in the mainland. It is presumed that the abutment and the fire wall used in Jeju Island might be the best solution to protect structures from rain and moisture. To sum up, local characteristics and traditional rules were thoroughly reflected in Jeju-HyangGyos built in Jeju Island from the aspect of arrangement and detailed style. In conclusion, it is significant that architectural styles, not to mention the other aspects of Jeju culture, were suitably adapted to Jeju Island.
The various advantages of DSPSRM lie in constructional simplicity, robustness and low cost. Also it has a specific characteristic of axial flux machine and radial flux machine simultaneously. In this paper, we designed and manufactured its operating drive and measured the characteristics of torque, efficiency, current to speed.
