화학 응집제 투입에 따른 수질항목별 하수처리 반응곡선 (Saturation curves for chemical coagulation of wastewater treatment)

  • Recently the Government has announced updated water quality standards for wastewater treatment effluent (become effective in 2012). That includes highly enforced regulations for T-P, BOD and COD, and a large budget, in particular for phosphorus removal, was set by the Ministry of environment. Chemical coagulation destabilizes colloidal particles so that particles grow to larger flocs, and solid particles are removed by solid-liquid separation. The efficiency of chemical coagulation depends on a various factors, including coagulant types and costs, construction and operation costs for the treatment facilities and so on. The proper selection should be based on the treatment efficiency of coagulants and underlying costs. The current research was to evaluate the treatment efficiencies of coagulants on a variety of wastewater influents and to develop saturation curves for several water quality parameters. Typical $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ and $FeCl_3$ were tested under a range of coagulant concentrations. The pollutant removal efficiencies of chemical treatment both for the $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ and $FeCl_3$ were especially high for T-P, followed by SS, BOD and COD. Correlation test also proved the highest relationship between SS and T-P.

인공습지에 의한 축산폐수의 처리시 계절적 영향 (Seasonal Effects of Livestock Wastewater Treatment by a Constructed Wetland)

  • 인공습지는 하수처리, 하수관리, 홍수제어등 다양한 분야에 적용될 수 있는 system으로 고려될 수 있다. 또한 인공습지는 자연친화적인 공법으로 건설, 운전 및 유지, 비용의 저렴등 여러 장점을 지니고 있어 많은 나라에서 적용가능한 공법중 하나로 간주되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내에서 수질오염의 주요한 원인으로 간주되고 있는 축산폐수를 인공습지로 처리하여 그 적용가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 실험결과 CODcr, TN, TP, SS, 색도의 제거율이 각각 97.9%, 97.8%, 97.2%, 99.1%, 84.9%로 나타났다. 특히 SS의 제거율이 높게 나타났다. 따라서 인공습지를 이용한 축산폐수의 처리가능성은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편 인공습지에 유입되어 토양에 축적된 오염물질이 토양에서 안정화 되는 데는 일정한 시간이 소요될 것으로 판단된다.

침지형 한외여과 막공법과 역삼투 공법을 이용한 하.폐수처리 (Wastewater Treatment Using Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) Process)

  • 세계적인 물부족을 해결하는 대안 중의 하나는 하수 재이용이다. 본 연구는 A시의 하수를 UF와 RO 공법으로 처리하여 인근지역의 공업용수로 재사용이 가능한지의 여부를 확인하고자 하였다. A시의 하수를 UF와 RO로 처리한 결과 Na, Mg, Cl, Ca, Mn, $PO_4$, $SO_4$ 등은 원수 대비 97% 이상의 높은 처리 효율을 보였으나, $NH_4$-N, TN, $NO_3$-N, BOD등의 영양염류는 각각 35.71%, 85.21%, 87.05% 그리고 56%로 상대적으로 낮은 제거율을 보였다. 그러나 영양염류는 원수 자체의 함유량이 소량 이여서 하수 처리수 공업용수 재이용수질 권고 기준을 만족하는데 문제가 없었다. 그 외의 측정항목 또한 하수 처리수 공업용수 재이용수질 권고 기준을 만족하여 인근지역의 공업용수로 재사용에는 문제가 없을 것으로 예상된다.

Status, Trend and Strategy on Municipal Wastewater Management in China

  • The rapid development of economy in China at the expense of consuming huge amount of energy and resources, water resource in particular, which has resulted in the production and discharge of increasing amount of wastewater to the water environment. In order to effectively control the increasing water pollution trend, the State Council has stipulated that all the cities with population over 500,000 should reach wastewater treatment rate of 60% by 2005, and all the cities should reach the rate of 60% by 2010, of which Capital Beijing and all the province capital cities and important tourism cities should reach 70% then. By the end of 2005, of the 661 cities in China, 393 have built and operated municipal wastewater treatments with a total number of 790 sets, total treatment capacity of $80.91{\times}106m^3/d$ and total treatment rate of > 48%. Other 73 cities have started the construction of municipal wastewater treatment plants, and other 168 cities have started to prepare, planning and design of wastewater treatment plants. Most of municipal wastewater treatment plants in big cities in China operate normally and perform well with good quality of effluent in terms of wastewater treatment train, but the sewage sludge treatment is usually poor with big problems. It has been found that the small scale WWTPs using activated sludge process in the towns are usually operated and maintained abnormally because of lack of fund, skilled operators and energy. It is therefore suggested that the small scale MWWTPs in small cities and towns adopt appropriate technologies, of which the most available ones are multi-stage ponds, constructed wetlands and the combination of them for further purification and reuse of treated wastewater.

침지식 중공사막을 결합한 Dynamic state 하수고도처리공정(KSMBR process)의 개발 및 현장적용평가 (Development and Field Application of the Advanced Wastewater Treatment process (KSMBR) by Hollow Fiber Submerged Membrane)

  • KSMBR process is dynamic state advanced wastewater treatment applied with Trisectional Aeration (TSA) mode combined with membrane. TSA was remodeled conventional intermittent aeration which was operated nonaeration-aeration. TSA operates nonaeration ($N_1$) - aeration (A) - nonaeration ($N_2$) in Trisectional Aeration Reactor (TAR). Organics of influent could be nearly consumed to denitrification without influence by remained DO in TAR and it could be operated about sludge return ratio of 1Q (influent base). The purpose of this study was to apply KSMBR to the full-scale plant and to evaluate efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus removal and TSA operation. The result of this study, average CODcr/T-N and CODcr/T-P ratio were 7.8 and 59.6, respectively. BOD, TCODcr, SS, T-N, T-P, E-coli removal efficiency were 98.4, 95.2, 73.0, 69.6, 99.95 %, respectively. KSMBR obtained high removal efficiencies of C, N and P when it applied full-scale plant.
