An Efficient Operational Technique for constructing Flexible Cell Systemin Domestic Electronic Assembly Industry and Case Study (국내 전자조립업체에서 성공적인 유연 셀 생산시스템 구축 방안과 적용 사례)

  • This paper presents an efficient operational technique of material feeding process, trainning for multi-operations, machine conditions, and role of foreman and material-supplying man, for constructing the flexible assembly cells in the domestic electronic industries. And an practical method for computing the number of economical cells is also presented by the cost-effective model that compares the additional assembly machine requirement with the four reductive effects including WIP/finished goods inventory, the troubles in the assembly line, the opportunity loss for small order quantity, and amounts of production management due to the introduction of cell line. An case study is introduced in for a domestic electronic assembly line at the end.

  • Dynamic scheduling is very important in constructing CIM and improving productivity of chemical processing systems. Computation at the scheduling level requires mostly a long time to generate an optimal schedule, so it is difficult to immediately respond to actual process events in real-time. To solve these problems, we developed dynamic scheduling algorithms such as DSMM(Dynamic Shift Modification Method), PUOM(Parallel Unit Operation Method) and UVVM(Unit Validity Verification Method). Their main functions are to minimize the effects of unexpected disturbances such as process time variations and unit failure, to predict a makespan of the updated dynamic schedule and to modify schedule desirably in real-time responding to process time variations. As a result, the algorithms generate a new pertinent schedule in real-time which is close to the original schedule but provides an efficient way of responding to the variation of process environment. Examples in a shampoo production batch process illustrate the efficiency of the algorithms.

  • In the environment of 450mm wafers production known as the next-generation semiconductor production process, one of the most significant features is the full automation over the whole manufacturing processes involved. The full automation system for 450mm wafer production will minimize the human workers' involvement in the manufacturing process as much as possible. In addition, since the importance of an individual wafer processing increases noticeably, it is necessary to develop more robust scheduling systems in the whole manufacturing process than so ever. The scheduling systems for the next-generation semiconductor production processes also should be capable of monitoring individual wafers and collecting useful data on them in real time. Based on the information gathered from these processes, the system should finally have a real-time scheduling functions controlling whole the semiconductor manufacturing processes. In this study, preliminary investigations on the requirements and needed functions for constructing the real time scheduling system and transforming manufacturing environments for 300mm wafers to those of 400mm are conducted and through which the next generation semiconductor processes for efficient scheduling in a clustered production system architecture of the scheduler is proposed. Our scheduling architecture is composed of the modules for real-time scheduling, the clustered production type supporting, the optimal scheduling and so on. The specifications of modules to define the major required functions, capabilities, and the relationship between them are presented.

  • This research has a purpose of constructing the data monitoring system that makes two-tier work state in the brick production factory to unification by reusing cinder. Monitoring system automatically manages data by using data managing processes such as a state managing process, a location managing process, a badness managing process, a circumstances managing process. In this research, the data management monitoring system manufactures state information of each processes received from RFID and transmits them to data monitoring system. Analyzed data through this system reuses the cinder, so it can effectively manage the production process of the factory which produces bricks through processing automation, faulty-ratio minimization, real-time monitoring and loading managing.

  • Classical SPC charting methods such as (equation omitted), R, S charts assume high volume manufacturing processes where at least 25 or 30 calibrate samples of size 4 or 5 each can be gathered to estimate the process parameters before on-line charting actually begines. However, for many processes, especially in a job-shop setting, production runs are not necessarily long and charting technique are required that do not that depend upon knowing the process parameters in advance of the run. In this paper, using modifying statistics, we give a method for constructing control charts for the process mean when the measurements are from a normal distribution. In this case, consider that smaller weight being assigned to the older data as time process and properties and taking method of exponential smoothing constant$(\lambda)$ are suggested.

  • Process capability indices are used to determine whether a production process is capable of producing items within a specified tolerance. We could estimate the finite sample distributions of some process capability indices with bootstrap method. In this paper, we derive the asymptotic bootstrap distributions of some process capability indices ${\hat{C}}^*_p$, ${\hat{C}}^*_{pk}$ and ${\hat{C}}^*_{pm}$ under general proper conditions. These asymptotic distributiops would be used in constructing some bootstrap confidence intervals. Also, we examine some small sample properties related to these estimators by some simulations.

  • This paper describes the project for constructing a traceability system for producing using RFID antenna in 900MHz frequency band and the consideration. In this project we reviewed analysis of properties classified by production process and RFID system through each frequency band, and designed a single unit RFID reader including antenna. The developed antenna is optimized to a field condition and this paper will show the test results. Also, we designed a single unit RFID reader by adding a reader to a designed antenna and explained the rule of tag memory allocation. Lastly, after running the system we could calculate visible and invisible effects of operation results and check up a wide possibility of application for RFID.

  • For improved sustainability of the biorefinery industry, biorefinery-byproduct glycerol is being investigated as an alternate source for hydrogen production. This research designs and optimizes a hydrogen-production process for small hydrogen stations using steam reforming of purified glycerol as the main reaction, replacing existing processes relying on steam methane reforming. Modeling, simulation and optimization using a commercial process simulator are performed for the proposed hydrogen production process from glycerol. The mixture of glycerol and steam are used for making syngas in the reforming process. Then hydrogen are produced from carbon monoxide and steam through the water-gas shift reaction. Finally, hydrogen is separated from carbon dioxide using PSA. This study shows higher yield than former U.S. DOE and Linde studies. Economic evaluations are performed for optimal planning of constructing domestic hydrogen energy infrastructure based on the proposed glycerol-based hydrogen station.

  • Product modeling technology for graphics is rapidly developing. And 3D data application and usability are increasing.modeling of product design is a very important factor in constructing. 3D modeling in product design takes a lot of production time. Recently, the reverse design method is very useful because of application of 3D data and shortening of production time. In this study, first, 3D point cloud and mesh data are generated using photographs based on image data. The second is to modify the design and the third is to make the prototype with the 3D printer. This product design and production process suggests the utilization and possibility of image data, the shortening of 3D modeling production time and efficient processes. Also, the product design process proposes a model of a new product development system to adapt to the production environment.

  • The BOM(Bill Of Material) contains various important information for establishing production scheduling and purchasing process. For effective and efficient constructing of the BOM, some methods, such as, conventional BOM, Modular BOM and Generic BOM are developed. Many companies input the BOM information with manual process. During this process, no one can avoid human errors, that is input error and to omit input necessary Information. We must to remove the possibility of these human errors, and to construct BOM effectively. To do this, we try to take the BOM from CAD data automatically We have developed a supporting system for extracting BOM from AutoCAD files.
