In this paper, the constitutive equation is developed to analyze the characteristics of strain-induced plasticity in the range of low temperature of 316 stainless steel. The practical usefulness of the developed equations is evaluated by the comparison between experimental and numerical results. For 316 stainless steel, constitutive equations, which represent the characteristics of nonlinear material behavior under the cryogenic temperature environment, are developed using the Bodner's plasticity model. In order to predict the material behaviour such as damage accumulation, Bodner-Chan's damage model is implemented to the developed constitutive equations. Based on the developed constitutive equations, 3-D finite element analysis program is developed, and verified using experimental results.
This paper aims to simulate the isotropic elastic damage theory of Liu Jun (2012) using the self-programmed UMAT subroutine in the interface of ABAQUS. Liu Jun (2012)'s method based on the mechanic theory can not be used interactively with the currently commonly used finite element software ABAQUS. The advantage of this method in the paper is that it can interact with ABAQUS and provide a constitutive program framework that can be modified according to user need. The model retains the two scalar damage variables and the corresponding two energy dissipation mechanisms and damage criteria for considering the tensile and compressive asymmetry of concrete. Taking C45 concrete as an example, the relevant damage evolution parameters of its tensile and compressive constitutive model are given. The study demonstrates that the uniaxial tensile stress calculated by the subroutine is almost the same as the Chinese Concrete Design Specification (GB50010) before the peak stress, but ends soon after the peak stress. The stress-strain curve of uniaxial compression calculated by the subroutine is in good agreement with the peak stress in Chinese Concrete Design Specification (GB50010), but there is a certain deviation in the descending stage. In addition, this paper uses the newly compiled subroutine to simulate the shear bearing capacity of the shear key in a new structural system, namely the open-web sandwich slab. The results show that the damage constitutive subroutine has certain reliability.
Several isotropic compression-expansion tests and a series of drained conventional traxial tests with various confining pressures for relative density of Beakma river sand 25%, 50%, 80% and 100% selecting Lade's Single Work-Hardening constitutive model. This examination materials use regression analysis as a basis, depending on the relative density of soil parameters change statement attributes. Yield fuction represent the soil parameters h and $\alpha$ is not affected by the changes in the relative density. $\eta_1$ could be replaced by fomula. And Numerical analysis results predicted very good and could confirm that.
This paper examines the seismic responses of a reinforced concrete (RC) frame core-tube building with pre-pressed spring self-centering energy dissipation (PS-SCED) braces. The PS-SCED brace system consists of friction devices for energy dissipation, pre-pressed combination disc springs for self-centering and tube members as guiding elements. A constitutive model of self-centering flag-shaped hysteresis for PS-SCED brace is developed to better simulate the seismic responses of the RC frame core-tube building with PS-SCED braces, which is also verified by the tests of two braces under low cyclic reversed loading. Results indicate that the self-centering and energy dissipation capabilities are well predicted by the proposed constitutive model of the PS-SCED brace. The structure with PS-SCED braces presents similar peak story drift ratio, smaller peak acceleration, smaller base shear force and much smaller residual deformations as compared to the RC frame core-tube building with bucking-restrained braces (BRBs).
The flow stress of 304 stainless steel during hot forming process were determined by conducting hot compression tests at the range of 1273 K∼1423 K and 0.05 /s∼2.0 /s as these are typical temperature and strain rate in hot forging operation. In this material, Dynamic recrystallization was found to be the major softening mechanism with this conditions as Previous studies. Based on the observed phenomena, a constitutive model of flow stress was assumed as a function of strain, strain rate, temperature. In the constitutive model, the effects of strain hardening and dynamic recrystallization were taken into consideration. A finite element method connected to constitutive model was performed to predict the dynamic recrystallization behaviors and also stress-strain curves in hot compression of 304 stainless steel.
Numerical analysis on laminated plates containing an open hole subjected to compression is conducted to predict the damage constitutive behaviour of the plates. A micromechanical constitutive model for unidirectional laminated composites proposed by Liang et a1. (2006), in conjunction with damage models (Karihaloo and Fu, 1989, 1999; Zhao and Weng, 1996, 1997), is implemented into the finite element code ABAQUS to conduct the numerical analysis. The predictions are compared with experiments (Lessard and Chang, 1991) to verify the accuracy of the present analysis.

Profile development of the melt spinning process of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) was simulated by a numerical method under the consideration of two constitutive equations of Newtonian and upper convected Maxwell (UCM) models. The viscoelastic characteristics of the polymer were considered via UCM constitutive equation that considered relaxation time as a function of temperature and molecular weight. The UCM model predicted the diameter profile better than the Newtonian, while velocity development was slower than the Newtonian model. Viscoelasticity played an important role in accurately predicting diameter profile. However, even though neck-like deformation was observed in the UCM model, the exact position of the deformation under high speed spinning was not obtained.
The deformation behavior of copper during equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was calculated using a three-dimensional version of a constitutive model based on the dislocation density evolution. Finite element simulations of the variation of the dislocation density and the dislocation cell size with the number of ECAP passes are reported. The calculated stress, strain and cell size are compared with the experimental data for Cu deformed by ECAP in a modified Route C regime. The results of FEM analysis were found to be in good agreement with the experiments. After a rapid initial decrease down to about 200 nm in the first ECAP pass, the average cell size was found to change little with further passes. Similarly, the strength increased steeply after the first pass, but tended to saturate with further pressings. The FEM simulations also showed strain non-uniformities and the dependence of the resulting strength on the location within the workpiece.
Up to now, many constitutive models for clay have been proposed and studied based on the elasto-plastic or elasto-viscoplastic theory and it has been recognized that the effect of time on the loading process is a salient feature. In the present study, cyclic behavior characteristics of clay was studied with a viscoelastic-viscoplastic constitutive model for clay based on the non-linear kinematic hardening rule. In order to examine the behavior of clay several cyclic untrained triaxial tests and also their numerical simulations were performed. As results of that, it was found that the proposed model can well describe cyclic behaviors of clay such as frequency dependent characteristics, and have the high feasibility of numerical simulation for dynamic analysis.
