전송 모의실험을 통한 전계흡수 광변조기의 파장왜곡 특성해석 (Chirping Characteristics Analysis of Electroabsorption Modulators by Riber Transmission Simulations)

  • The chirping characteristics of InGaAsP electroabsorption modulatiors have been analyzed. The effective .alpha. parameters for large signal modulation were estimated by comparing the pulse shape after fiber transmission with constant chirping assumption.We investigated the structure and the operating condition of the modulator to improve the chirping characteristics. The .alpha. parameters were calculated as the function of wavelength detuning and the bias voltage. To minimize the chirping performance, high bias voltage and a small wavelength detuning and the bias voltage. An negative .alpha. value is achieved at the wavelength detuning below 30meV with a proper bias voltage so that pulse compression effect was expected.

  • In this paper, we investigated the anomalous hump in the bottom gate staggered a-IGZO TFTs. During the positive bias stress, a positive threshold voltage shift was observed in the transfer curve and an anomalous hump occurred as the stress time increased. The hump became more serious in higher gate bias stress while it was not observed under the negative bias stress. The analysis of constant gate bias stress indicated that the anomalous hump was influenced by the migration of positively charged mobile interstitial zinc ion towards the top side of the a-IGZO channel layer.

  • 고빈도 진동환기가 동맥혈의 가스분압에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 저자들은 9마리의 고양이를 대상으로 진동빈도, 일회분출량 및 bias flow를 다양하게 변화시켜 아래와 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 일회분출량과 bias flow를 고정시킨 후 진동빈도를 점차 증가시켜 도 $PaCO_2$의 변동은 없었다(Table 1). 2) 진동빈도를 고정시킨 후 일회분출량과 bias flow를 변화시켜 관찰하였던 바 $PaCO_2$는 bias flow의 변화와는 상관관계가 없으나, 일회분출량의 변화와는 유의한 상관관계가 있었다(p<0.01)(Table 2, Fig. 1). 3) $PaCO_2$는 진동빈도를 15Hz로 고정시킨 상태하에서는 1회 분출량 및 bias flow를 증가시켜도 큰 변동없이 정상으로 유지되었다(Table 2). 이상의 결과로 고빈도 진동환기법에서 $PaCO_2$의 결정인자는 진동빈도와 bias flow와는 무관하였고 일회분출량과는 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

ECR-PECVD 방법으로 제작된 DLC 박막의 기판 Bias 전압 효과 (Effect of Substrate Bias Voltage on DLC Films Prepared by ECR-PECVD)

  • ECR-PECVD 방법을 이용하여 ECR power, $CH_4/H_2$ 가스 혼합비와 유량, 증착시간을 고정시켜놓고 기판 bias 전압을 변화 시켜가면서 DLC 박막을 제작하였고, 제작된 박막의 두께, Raman과 FTIR 스펙트럼 그리고 미소경도 등을 측정 및 분석하여 기판 bias전압에 따른 이온충돌이 박막의 특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. FTIR 분석 결과로부터 기판 bias 전압을 증가시킬수록 이온충돌 현상이 두드러져 탄소와 결합하고 있던 수소원자들의 탈수소화 현상을 확인할 수 있었고, 박막의 두께는 bias 전압을 증가시킬수록 감소되었다. 그리고 Raman 스펙트럼으로부터 Gaussian curve fitting을 통하여 $sp^3$/$sp^2$의 결합수에 비례하는 D와 G peak의 면적 강도비(ID/IG)는 기판 bias 전압을 증가시킬수록 증가하였고, 또한 경도도 증가하였다. 이 결과로부터 본 연구에서 제작된 수소를 함유한 비정질 탄소 박막은 기판 bias 전압의 크기를 증가시킬수록 DLC 특성이 더 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents a velocity regulation scheme for a DC motor subjected to random torque and velocity measurement noises of white noise type as well as unknown constant load torque (bias). The scheme separately estimates an unknown bias in addition to state estimation by the bias-free Kalman Filter, and reflects the effect of the bias estimate to the armature input voltage such that velocity variations be regulated. It is shown via computer simulations that the performance of the present scheme is superior to that of the conventional analog PI regulator.

GPS/INS 가관측성의 간편한 해석 (Simplified Observability Analysis of GPS/INS)

  • In this paper a study on the simplified observability analysis of GPS/INS is introduced. Errors for the position, velocity, attitude, gyro and accelerometer biases, and lever arm between GPS antenna and inertial sensors are considered in the observablity analysis. From the error dynamics model in which relatively small terms are neglected, simple observability conditions are obtained such that the observability of GPS/INS is determined by the test on the attutude, gyro bias, and lever arm. Unobservable errors for the position, velocity, and accelerometer bias are determined by those for the attitude, gyro bias, and lever arm. The simplified observability conditions are applied to a constant speed horizontal motion. It is shown that there are seven unobservable modes for the motion including the vertical component of gyro bias. The analytic observability analysis results are confirmed with a covariance simulation.

모사된 화재의 열적환경에서 열전대를 이용한 온도 측정오차에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Temperature Measurement Bias using Thermocouple in Simulated Thermal Environments of Fire)

  • An experimental study was conducted to identify the quantitative measurement bias for the bare-bead thermocouple (TC), which was widely used for measuring temperature in fire experiments. To this end, an apparatus could be controlled individually gas flow rate, preheating temperature and incident radiative heat flux was developed to simulate the thermal environments of fire. A relative measurement bias of bare-bead TC was evaluated with the comparison of double-shield aspirated TC. As a result, the relative measurement bias of bare-bead TC was gradually increased with the increase in radiative heat flux with constant gas temperature. The relative bias was also significantly increased with the decrease in gas temperature. Quantitatively, at the gas temperature of $20^{\circ}C$, the bare-bead TC had the relative bias of approximately 400% with the radiative heat flux of $20kW/m^2$ corresponding to thermal radiation level of the flashover. The present study was intend to provide fire researchers with methodologies for the reanalyses of temperature measured using bare-bead TC, radiation corrections, and validation of fire modeling.

Precision orbit determination with SLR observations considering range bias estimation

  • The unexpected observation condition or insufficient measurement modeling can lead to uncertain measurement errors. The uncertain measurement error of orbit determination problem typically consists of noise, bias and drift. It must be removed by using a proper estimation process for better orbit accuracy. The estimation of noise and drift is not easy because of their random or unpredictable variation. On the other hand, bias is a constant difference between the mean of the measured values and the true value, so it can be simply removed. In this study, precision orbit determination with SLR observations considering range bias estimation is presented. The Yonsei Laser-ranging Precision Orbit Determination System (YLPODS) and SLR NP (Normal Point) observations of CHAMP satellite are used for this work. The SLR residual test is performed to estimate the range bias of each arc. The result shows that we can get better orbit accuracy through range bias estimation.

  • Kernel estimator is very popular in nonparametric density estimation. In this paper we propose an estimator which reduces the bias to the fourth power of the bandwidth, while the variance of the estimator increases only by at most moderate constant factor. The estimator is fully nonparametric in the sense of convex combination of three kernel estimators, and has good numerical properties.

Dynamic Magneto-mechanical Behavior of an Iron-nickel-based Ferromagnetic Alloy with Constant Elasticity

  • The dynamic magneto-mechanical behaviors in a type of iron-nickel-based ferromagnetic alloy with constant elasticity were investigated as a function of both the DC bias magnetic field ($H_{dc}$) and the frequency. The rectangular plate-like samples were excited to vibrate at a half-wavelength, longitudinal resonance by an AC magnetic field superimposed with various $H_{dc}$. The experimental results found that the strain coefficient at resonance reached 819.34 nm/A and the effective mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) was greater than 2000. The ratio of the maximum variation of the Young's modulus over $H_{dc}$ to the value of the Young's modulus at a zero bias field was only ${\sim}0.83%o$ because of the so-called constant elasticity. The resonant strain coefficients and $Q_m$ are strongly dependent on $H_{dc}$, which indicates a promising potential for use in DC and quasistatic magnetic field sensing.
