Curve Fittig에 의한 Terzaghi의 압밀계수 산정방법 연구 (The Study on Determination of the Coefficient of Terzaghi's Consolidation by Curve Fitting)

  • It has been known that Terzaghi's consolidation theory is not well consistent with the consolidation phenomenon on the soft clay ground, but this theory has still been adopted normally in practice because there is no method for estimating the consolidation settlement and rate easier than Terzaghi's theory. It is impossible to map whole part of consolidation settlement vs time curve to the curve of Terzaghi'z average degree of consolidation. If the primary consolidation and the secondary compression are happened same time, it would be useless of trying to find the end of primary consolidation, but it is needed for using Terzaghi's theory that the end of consolidation is determined to the time of beginning consistency between the final settlement analyzed with curve fitting and the experimented consolidation settlement.

현장 지반특성을 고려한 압밀도 및 시간계수 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determination of the Degree of Consolidation and Time Factor Considering Site Ground Characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 국내 연약지반 설계에서 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 Terzaghi 압밀이론에 의한 1차원 압밀해석의 침하량 및 침하시간이 실제 현장에서 측정되는 침하량 및 침하시간과의 차이로 인해 발생하는 문제점을 최소화하고자 수행하였다. 현장 지반특성을 고려한 압밀도-시간계수는 압밀도, 침하시간, 시간계수의 관계를 이용하여 결정할 수 있으므로 현장에서 측정된 시간-침하량 곡선을 현장과 동일한 압밀거동이 재현될 때의 수치해석기법으로 역해석하였다. 현장과 동일한 압밀거동이 재현될 때의 시간-침하량과 시간-과잉간극수압 데이터로 각 침하시간에 대한 침하량과 과잉간극수압을 이용하여 침하량과 과잉간극수압에 의한 송산그린시티 지반의 압밀도-시간계수를 산정하였다. 본 연구결과 연약지반 대상지역의 압밀특성이 고려되지 않은 Terzaghi 압밀도-시간계수를 사용한다면 시공시 연약지반 종료시기를 결정하는데 어려움이 있으며 압밀특성이 고려된 압밀도-시간계수를 사용할 필요가 있다.

변곡점을 이용한 신속한 압밀시험에 관한 연구 (Rapid Inflection Point Method of Consolidation Testing)

  • This study presented the new method for evaluating the coefficient of consolidation by using inflection point method which was based on the fact that time factor, T corresponding to the inflection point of a semilogarithmic plot of a time curve is fixed and equals to T = 0.405 at 70% consolidation. In the proposed method, the next load increment is applied as soon as the necessary time required to identify the inflection point. Thus, the coefficient of consolidation may be easily evaluated. The time required to complete the testing using this rapid consolidation method could be as low as 1.5-3 hours compared with 1 or 2 weeks in the case of the conventional consolidation test.

경지정리 사업이 농업기계화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Land Consolidation on Agricultural Mechanization)

  • In 1990's, two types of land consolidation has been widely carried out to enforce competativeness of rice production in Korea. One is so called large-scale land consolidation for resizing paddy field and farm road, the other is general land consolidation for changing both size and shape of field, water channel and farm road. This study was conducted to evaluate how much effect on fm mechanization the land consolidation had. To evaluate the influence of the land consolidation, theoretical analysis and surveys were accomplished. Land consolidation was analyzed to increase field efficiency by 180 to 670% depending on the type of land consolidation and machine selection. Also, land consolidation brought increment of real working time ratio by reducing traveling time on farm road. Trends of large scale mechanization and increment of custom work were observed to be accelerated by land consolidation. It also gave effect on the pattern of machine troubles. Farmers were conscious of the influence of land consolidation on machine utilization, however, in plains level of satisfaction was shown to be low.

이탄의 장기압밀특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Long-term Consolidation Characteristics of Peats)

  • This study aims at scrutinizing the long4errn consolidation characteristics of peats sampled at three different regions of Chonbuk province. The standard consolidation test and the single load consolidation test were performed about these samples and especially in case of the latter the loading period was 350 days. The main condusions analyzed are as follows. 1. Void ratio showed much greater values than that of the general clay and was decresed greatly according to the increase of the load. 2. In case of the relationship between the sefflement and the long-term settlement time the rate of settlement increment became great according to the increase of the load step and the long4erm settlement became linely proportional to the logarithm of time alter 10 minutes. 3. The linear correlation was showed between the long4erm settlement time and the void ratio and therefore equations by regression analysis were derived in order to estimate the long-term settlement The slope of straight lines increased according th the increase of the load step and secondary consolidation coefficients ranged from 0.04-0.27. 4. The secondary consolidation coeffcient became linealy proportional to the compression index and the ratio of Ca to CC was 0.072. 5. The period required in ending the primary consolidation was about 10 minutes and alter that the secondary consolidation coefficient appeared to have constant value. Therefore the secondary consolidation coefficient was judged to be used as a significant factor in estimating the long4erm settlement. 6. In case of the single load consolidation test the secondary consolidation coefficient showed the tendancy increasing according to the increase of the consolidation pressure.

  • The estimation of consolidation rate is one of the important factors in the construction on soft clayey deposits. A number of researches are carried out to predict the consolidation behavior in field, however, most of the results show the discrepancies between the prediction and observation. This paper analyzes consolidation behavior of normally consolidated clay in K/sub o/ condition with 2-dimensional drainage by use of the numerical methods. Elastic and elastic-plastic finite element analyses are compared in terms of the dissipation of excess pore pressure. These results are also compared with Terzaghi-Rendulic's equation that is implemented by finite difference method. The consolidation time calculated by using elastic model is found to be similar to the result of Terzaghi-Rendulic's equation. The consolidation predicted by MCC model takes more time than other cases. Initial increase of excess pore pressure in radial drainage can be shown, however, this phenomenon does not have a significant effect on tile final consolidation time.

  • This paper aims to analyse the impact of city-county consolidation on promotion practices of local government employees, using system dynamics approach. The cases employed in this study are Cheongju City and Cheongwon County which reached the referendum stage twice but without success. While the idea of consolidating two neighbouring local governments via a merger sounds enticing, some opponents argue that consolidation may cause some problems on the part of local government employees, emphasizing that consolidation could lengthen actual time period needed for local government employees' promotion. The majority of the existing literature on city-county consolidation, however, tends to describe the most successful cases, focusing on the achievements it has made or the political processes associated with it. With this in mind, this paper attempts to identify the impacts of consolidation on the local government employees' promotion time period, utilizing system dynamics approach. It concludes that consolidation could rather shorten the time period of promotion of local government employees concerned from the long term perspective.

압밀특성에 관한 연구 (I) (선행하중이 압밀특성에 주는 영향) (A Study on the Characteristics of Consolidation of Soils (I) (The Influence of Pre-consolidation Load of Soils on Consolidation Characteristics))

  • The determination of the pre-consolidation load known to have a great effect on the consolidation characteristics of the soil have been researched and discussed in detail by many other researchers. A study was undertaken to investigate and compare the effect of pre-consolidation loads on the coefficient of permeability and the consolidation characterisics of soil through the consolidation test on the three types of soil samples. The results of this study are follows; 1. Large compression index is dependent on initial void ratio of the sample being used and the pressure-void ratio curve shows a curved linear relationship in over-consolidated area but a linear relationship in normally consolidated area.2. Settlement-time curve is S-shaped where the pressure is larger than pre-consolidation load and regardless of over-burden pressure, it is a similar straight line respectively in the secondary consolidation area. 3. Primary consolidation ratio of the sample increases almost linearly with the increase of over-burden pressure but the coefficient of volume compressibility decreases linearly with the increase of it. 4. Time factor of a certain degree of consolidation increases with over-burden pressure but the coefficient of consolidation decreases with it in over-consolidated area. There is a linear relationship between them in normally consolidated area. 5. The void ratio of completion point of primary consolidation decreases linearly with over-burden pressure. 6. The coefficient of permeability of sample decreases linearly with over-burden pressure in normally consolidated area, also it increases linearly with increment of the void ratio of the sample.

  • Self-Boring Pressuremeter Test(SBPT) is known to be the most effective in-situ test method which can reliably determine consolidation characteristics as well as deformation modules and untrained shear strength. In order to derive the coefficient of consolidation using SBPT results it is necessary to obtain the dissipation behavior from the pore pressure change with time during constant radial strain(generally 10%) and to derive the reliable time factor(Τ) from the analytical method which considers the real in-situ conditions. As previous studies on time factor are based on the assumptions of plane strain condition that the membrane of SBP is infinite, of untrained condition during the expansion of the probe and of elastic soil behavior during consolidation, these analyses can't consider the real boundary conditions and the real soil behaviour. In this study, consolidation analysis similar to real in-situ conditions including test procedure is conducted using finite element program which employs MCC model and Biot theory. Time factor considering the effects of finite membrane length, the total pressure change during consolidation and partial drainage is proposed and compared with previous results.

수평배수재가 포설된 준설매립지반의 압밀해석(II) - 현장설치조건에 의한 개량효율 분석 - (Consolidation Analysis of Dredged Fill Ground Installed with Horizontal Drains (II) - Improvement Efficiency Analysis with Field Installation Conditions -)

  • 수평배수재가 설치된 준설매립지반의 중력에 의한 압밀 거동을 수평배수 자중압밀해석을 위하여 개발된 유한차분 프로그램을 이용하여 해석하였다. 수평배수재 단면의 크기와 수평배수재의 설치단면의 방향(수직/수평)이 대상지반의 압밀에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 시공된 지반에서 발생 가능한 요인들, 즉 하부 무처리층의 존재, 그리고 수평배수재 단부에서의 수두적체 등이 압밀속도와 침하량에 미치는 영향도 분석하였다. 그 결과, 수평배수재의 단면적을 2배로 증가하여도 압밀 소요시간이 미량 감소하는데 그쳤으나, 수평배수재를 수직방향으로 설치한 경우 수평방향 설치시에 비하여 압밀소요 시간이 매우 감소하는 것으로 평가되었다. 해석결과로 부터 하부 무처리층의 영향이 처리 지반의 장기 침하에 미치는 영향이 크며, 배수재 단부에 발생하는 수두적체는 압밀시간 증가와 미진한 압밀효과를 초래하는 것을 정량적으로 알 수 있었다.
