  • Six sigma has been the most influential management innovation tool in order to achieve the customer's satisfaction and keep the competition in the age of limitless competition. The success in six sigma is to find the correct CTQ (Critical to Quality). QFD (Quality function deployment) is the efficient too ever created to tie product and service design decisions directly to customer wants and needs. One of the mistakes in QFD is to analyze using an inconsistent HOQ (House of quality) chart. An inconsistent HOQ chart is one in which the information from the correlation matrix is inconsistent with that from the relationship matrix. This study presents the consistency check and inconsistency check in case of failing the consistency check. Also we propose the procedures using the Limiting Probability in correlation matrix and the Median Rank in relationship matrix in order to be consistent in HOQ chart.

  • This study is aimed to validate errors for detected suspicious temperature data using various quality control procedures for 61 weather stations in the Republic of Korea. The quality control algorithms for temperature data consist of four main procedures (high-low extreme check, internal consistency check, temporal outlier check, and spatial outlier check). Errors of detected suspicious temperature data are judged by examining temperature data of nearby stations, surface weather charts, hourly temperature data, daily precipitation, and daily maximum wind direction. The number of detected errors in internal consistency check and spatial outlier check showed 4 days (3 stations) and 7 days (5 stations), respectively. Effective and objective methods for validation errors through this study will help to reduce manpower and time for conduct of quality management for temperature data.

  • In the most of the telecommunication industry, it is necessary to secure consistency to overcome gaps between business logics and information systems logics. We propose a model of provision check in order to secure information consistency of customer information among information systems. First of all, we understand the concept of provision check and design a proposed model for provision check. After an experiment in a business company, we analyze its experimental results and make proposals for effective and efficient provision check in the telecommunication industry.

  • The diagnosis of abnormalities in a nuclear power plant is essential to maintain power plant safety. When an abnormal event occurs, the operator diagnoses the event and selects the appropriate abnormal operating procedures and sub-procedures to implement the necessary measures. To support this, abnormality diagnosis systems using data-driven methods such as artificial neural networks and convolutional neural networks have been developed. However, data-driven models cannot always guarantee an accurate diagnosis because they cannot simulate all possible abnormal events. Therefore, abnormality diagnosis systems should be able to detect their own potential misdiagnosis. This paper proposes a rulebased diagnostic validation algorithm using a previously developed two-stage diagnosis model in abnormal situations. We analyzed the diagnostic results of the sub-procedure stage when the first diagnostic results were inaccurate and derived a rule to filter the inconsistent sub-procedure diagnostic results, which may be inaccurate diagnoses. In a case study, two abnormality diagnosis models were built using gated recurrent units and long short-term memory cells, and consistency checks on the diagnostic results from both models were performed to detect any inconsistencies. Based on this, a re-diagnosis was performed to select the label of the second-best value in the first diagnosis, after which the diagnosis accuracy increased. That is, the model proposed in this study made it possible to detect diagnostic failures by the developed consistency check of the sub-procedure diagnostic results. The consistency check process has the advantage that the operator can review the results and increase the diagnosis success rate by performing additional re-diagnoses. The developed model is expected to have increased applicability as an operator support system in terms of selecting the appropriate AOPs and sub-procedures with re-diagnosis, thereby further increasing abnormal event diagnostic accuracy.

  • This thesis proposes an adaptive variable-sized matching window method using the characteristic points of the image and a method to increase the reliability of the cross-consistency check to raise the correctness of the final disparity image. The proposed adaptive variable-sized window method segments the image with the color information, finds the characteristic points in each segmented image, and varies the size of the matching window according to the existence of the characteristic points inside the window. Also the proposed cross-consistency check method processes the two cases with the cost values corresponding to the best disparity and the second-best disparity: when the cost values themselves are too large and when the difference between the two cost values are too small. The two proposed methods were experimented with the four test images provided by the Middleburry site. As the results from the experiments, the proposed adaptive variable-sized matching window method decreased up to 18.2% of error ratio and the proposed cross-consistency check method increased up to 7.4% of reliability.

  • The consistency between a building information model(BIM) and drawings are very important and has a critical impact on the usage of BIM throughout the project life-cycle. The purpose of this study is to develop a checklist for the consistency check between BIM and drawings. In this research, requirements for drawings in the construction documentation phase were analyzed. In generating drawings based on BIM, a checklist can help practitioners confirm what to modify in the BIM model and what to modify in CAD drawings. Finally, it is expected that the work efficiency will be improved by reducing the unnecessary work by distinguishing the elements that can be extracted from the BIM model from the elements that requires additional works when generating BIM-based drawings.

  • Korean word spacing rules have exceptional cases which permit both spacing and no-spacing between words. The exceptional cases, however, do not mean that inconsistent spacing between words or word-phrases is legitimate in a document proof reading. This paper proposes a word spacing consistency check method using syllable and morpheme information, and evaluated it through experiment.

  • Cached data management of clients is required to guarantee the correctness of client's applications. There are two categories of cache consistency algorithms : detection-based and avoidance-based cache consistency algorithm. Detection?.based schemes allow stale data access and then check the validity of any cached data before they ran be allowed to commit. In contrast, under avoidance-based algorithms, transactions never have the opportunity to access stale data. In this paper, we propose a new avoidance-based cache consistency algorithm make use of version. The proposed method maintains the two versions at clients and servers, so it has no callback message and it can be reduced abort ratio of transactions compare with the single-versioned algorithms. In addition to, the proposed method can be decreased cache miss using by mixed invalidation and propagation for remote update action.

  • In the development of complex software system, it is important to use hierarchical use case model due to the complex scope of development procedure. The use case model is core factor of the OMG (Object Management Group)'s UML (Unified Modeling Language) diagrams. In this paper, we propose a novel method to check syntactic consistency automatically in use case models at the different level of abstraction. This method is a rule-based approach which utilizes actor tree, use case tree and use case description. The proposed method is simulated on ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) architecture for the verification.

  • Purpose: This study is exploratory research to check the survey instrument KDSQ-C used to measure cognition for agreement between the elderly and their caregivers. Methods: Elderly persons from 170 families, who are aged over 65, have never been diagnosed with dementia, and who have caregivers in S City and K City were randomly selected by their nurses. A survey was conducted in the time from September to November, 2009 through personal interviews using a questionnaire. Results: In terms of consistency among items, there was high consistency (0.813) in the responses regarding complex task competence for the statement 'it is hard to reach a destination alone with public transportation'. There was relatively low consistency (0.63) in the responses regard memory for the statement 'they forget an appointment'. When the subject elderly and caregiver live together, as when their children or spouses responded, consistency was greater than when the caregiver lived in a different home. Conclusion: KDSQ-C showed high agreement in measurement between the subject elderly and their caregivers, demonstrating that it can be used as a measurement scale for cognition which can be directly applied to the subject elderly.
