  • Housing environments of individuals and families can have considerable influence on their quality of life. This study examines the factors influencing housing satisfaction and compares them between rural and urban areas. A total of 3,958 households collected from a nationwide survey were analyzed using an ordered probit model. The results indicate that housing satisfaction was influenced by individual, housing, and neighborhood attributes. The factors that differentiated between rural and urban models were sex, housing type, and relationships with neighbors. The results have important policy issues for improving rural housing.

  • Airborne noise is one of the considerable environmental factors for navy ship personnel who should accomplish their tasks in restricted ship spaces against adverse health effect of noise. However, it is difficult to find studies on actual condition of airborne noise for navy ships. In this study, we measured airborne noise levels at 379 compartments of 33 Korean navy ships. Using the measured data, we presented mean values and their standard deviations of measured noise levels with factors of ship type, compartment category, and operation mode. Additionally, we evaluated the mean value and cumulative probability of airborne noise levels of compartments with those of the US navy ships. These results can be rationally used in making the proper airborne noise criteria of the navy ship for the future.

  • Cytochrome P4501A2 (CYP1A2) is responsible for the metabolic activation of a number of aromatic amines and amides to mutagenic and carcinogenic moieties. Considerable variations in the level of CYP1A2 expression in humans have been reported. Thus, the level of human CYP1A2 may determine an individuals susceptibility to these chemicals. Given its importance, the molecular mechanisms of CYP1A2 regulation have been studied by many groups. Direct interactions between transcription factors with the promoters of the gene represent one of the primary means by which the expression of CYP1A2 is controlled. In this review, several important cis elements, transcription factors and the effects of deacetylation/methylation of promoter regions that play an important role in the induction by PAHs as well as constitutive expression of human CYP1A2 are discussed.

  • This subject,'S" apartment structural frame has not been achieved without considerable effort by all quality controller involved. Therefore, it is appropriate at this time to report by all the fact of concrete quality control in our site. These are emphasized that the average strength of placed concrete must always exceed the specified value of design strength used in the structural design phase. In general, quality of ready mixed concrete largely depends not only upon the manner of production and proper observance of recognized methods of placement, finishing, curing, transportation etc. ,but also many kinds of influential factors even more handling of the test procedure, As this practical report, approaching to judgement by analysis of sampled specimens in site weather placed concrete have satisfied quality compare the specified strength with the target strength which is applied to standard deviation related with influential factors as above mentioned. This case study is consist of 1) A foreword, 2) Site brief, 3) A precondition for analysis, 4) A formulas derivation and quality analysis, 5) Economic gains by the coefRcient of increase and 6) A conclusion.sion.

  • This research analyzes how the visual merchandising (hereafter VMD) of the consumers on the cultural services of global K company affect their brand attitudes and how the brand attitudes influence their purchase intension. In particular, by utilizing the multiple regression analysis method which tested the hypotheses of this study, it was proved that their attitudes of VMD factors proposed in this research positively influenced on the brand attitudes, and that their brand attitudes had considerable impact on the purchase intention and also it had close relationships with the intention. In the result of analysis, the consumers' attitudes of VMD factors has a direct and indirect effects on their brand attitudes and purchase intention. Therefore, this result in the practical aspect could give some valuable implication for the marketers who are trying to find out how to retain its consumers on the market managing.

  • Objectives: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer for all US populations including Asian Americans. CRC screening has considerable benefits to prevent CRC and reduce mortality. The purpose of this article was to review the published literature on rates of colorectal cancer screening and factors associated with colorectal cancer screening practice among Asian Americans. Methods: Through searching electronic reference databases from 2000 to 2013, 30 articles were found on Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese Americans. Findings: Asian Americans had significantly low ratesfor CRC screening; Korean Americans reported the lowest rates, while higher screening rates were found among Japanese Americans. Older age, longer length of stay in the US, and having a physician's recommendation were the most common facilitators to receiving screening. The common inhibiting factors were financial issues, employment status, and worries/fears about the procedure. Conclusions: Despite a number of Asian Americans being vulnerable to CRC, individual Asian subgroups were underserved with CRC screening and intervention. Further studies should focus on each individual Asian subgroup and culturally proficient CRC screening intervention programs should be developed for each.

  • We consider transmit antenna selection combined with power allocation for quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) systems to improve the error rate performance. The Euclidean distance-based joint optimization criterion is presented for transmit antenna selection and power allocation in QSM. It requires an exhaustive search and thus high computational complexity. Thus its reduced-complexity algorithm is proposed with a strategy of decoupling, which is employed to successively find transmit antennas and power allocation factors. First, transmit antennas are selected without considering power allocation. After selecting transmit antennas, power allocation factors are determined. Simulation results demonstrate considerable performance gains with lower complexity for transmit antenna selected QSM systems with power allocation, which can be achieved with limited rate feedback.

  • This study investigated factors influencing consumers' switching behavior in apparel purchasing situation. As customer switching behavior is getting more and more important, a considerable amount of researches have focused on how service providers acquire and sustain customers. The field of customers' switching behavior has been relatively well researched over the years, at least from the perspective of the cultural value(Chemyen). The purpose of this study is to understand customer' switching behavior to relationship benefits and Chemyeon. The sample was consisted on 182 females over 20 years old living in Ulsan and Gyungnam province. The data was analyzed by frequency, reliability, factor analysis, and structural equation model analysis. Findings showed that Chemyeon was shown to reduce customer' switching behavior. Also, three factors of relationship benefits(economic benefit, social·psychological benefit, and special treatment benefit) had negative effects on customer' switching behavior.

  • In this study, the experimental considerations of the friction factors are presented in a few cases. The friction factors in the cases of, first, the drawing quality material, SPC3C through the non-coated die of base material. GC30, secondly, SPCC through the Cr-coated GC30 die, and lastly. SPCC through the TD heat treated STD11 die, are measured experimentally both for the increasing die temperature and the blank holding forces. The results show no considerable variations of the value of friction coefficients according to the change of both the die temperature and the die treating conditions.
