  • Korea may have the social environment that has a high interest and demand for the fashion industry, but the relative importance that the Hanbok industry occupies in the fashion industry is very low. It can be found that this is attributed to the difficulty in identifying the trends of Hanbok due to the smallness of Hanbok material producers and Hanbok producers, a change in consumers' consciousness of Hanbok, the difficulty of ties and integration between Hanbok-related organizations, the lack of support from government and the like. Given the recent trend that the principal factor that enables the Korean fashion industry to be competitive in the world fashion business community is based on the beauty of Hanbok, this indifference to the Korean Hanbok industry would be the roadblock to internationalizing the Korean fashion industry. Accordingly, this study attempted to identify the problem of Hanbok-rela1ed department as the basic work for the development of the Hanbok industry and present the plan to activate it, thereby providing basic materials for exploiting the new arena of the Hanbok cultural industry the domestic and foreign fashion market in the 21st century.

  • This research studies socio-cultural hegemony change focused on male society through contemporary ideal masculine images of Asian men (especially Korean and Chinese men). Participants were: South Korean men in and around Seoul and Chinese men in Beijing and Shanghai. The youngest survey participants in their 20's and the oldest in their 40's were asked about their present men's appearance images and masculinity as well as asked to evaluate satisfaction with their own style, and interest in fashion trends on a 5-point Likert scale. In this research, an ideal masculinity was tested by 6 characters (traditional masculinity, macho masculinity, androgynous masculinity, adolescent masculinity, trendy masculinity, and general masculinity) as male avatars. Asian men's consciousness of an ideal masculinity image has moved gradually from traditional masculinity to trendy masculinity, leading to new roles in a socio-cultural agenda. Korean and Chinese men are more interested in appearance and notice fashionable styles to be trendy that follow the latest fashion because most other Asian men reflect a traditional masculinity as an ideal appearance image.

The characteristics of groups classified by self-consciousness shows significant difference in all girth factors, back intersyce breadth, front intersyce breadth, neck to nipple length, and nipple to nipple breadth. 3. Conscious about the somatotype with using body index generally shows similarity. In the length factor including height, slim somatotype group is perceived as longer than normal somatotype group, and in the girth factor including weight, normal somatotype group is recognized as bigger and thicker than others.

  • In this paper, it is to identify the effects of differences in interpretation levels depending on the type of brand association and the brain psychological distance on the evaluation of the product of that brand through two experiments. To test our hypotheses empirically, we conducted online survey. We addressed the hypotheses involving the general and relative impact of actual and ideal self-congruence on emotional brand attachment (H1) and explored the effect of product involvement as the moderating variable (H1-1 and H1-2). The goal of this research was to validate the results from involving our basic model and to explore the impact of two additional moderating variables (self-esteem and public self-consciousness: H2). We followed the same procedure. This finding is theoretical to the extent of the interpretation level theory in brand association research by applying the interpretation level theory to the brand association, and provides the meaning that, in practice, it is necessary to utilize the message of different types of brain psychological distance depending on the brand association characteristics that the brand has in defining the brand. In particular, it was confirmed that functional brand associations and symbolic brand annals have representational harmonization, respectively, depending on the low and high levels of interpretation levels.

  • In the midst of growing demand for rural life of urban dwellers, this study tried to investigate the difference in behavior and recognition about urban rural exchange between Korea and Japan. For this, this study utilized 2,000 total samples of the survey conducted by MLIT in Japan, because Japan has experienced a low birth rate and aging population earlier and actively promoting urban rural exchange program than South Korea. The result of the analysis is as follows. First, the needs for rural life of urban dwellers are similar both in Japan and South Korea. However, Japanese prioritize future efforts to current efforts. Second, urban dwellers' activities in rural areas were classified into three categories; field trips and hands-on activities, cruise and circulating activities, and leisure activities. Third, similarly three types of visit or intercourse of urban dwellers into rural areas were classified; repeatedly visit the same place as 'iterative type', visit a new place as 'new pioneer type', and not yet determined as 'undefined type'. Variables such as age of household, income, number of inmate, and number of children were analyzed linked to these three types of visit or intercourse in a Discriminant analysis. As a result, only 'age of household', however, turned out to be the crucial factor which influence decisively distinguishing characteristics of these three types of visit into rural areas.

  • Group features such as group cohesion and consistency on appropriation(COA), which have been constructed through social interactions, should be noted for characterizing online game, especially, clan based massively multi-players online game (MMOG). This study attempted to identify the relationship between group characteristics and users' effectiveness of MMOG considering group experience. For this purpose, a research model was suggested: group cohesion and COA are variables for explaining group features, perceived use control is a variable for individual competency of playing MMOG, and perceived winning and perceived enjoyment are dependent variables. Moreover, group experience was included as a moderating variables for two relationships, group cohesion-preceived winning and COA-perceived winning. For the validation of this research model, 100 users for Sudden Attack which is one of very well known MMOG games were surveyed by questionnaires. Before survey, they were grouped into 10 teams and were played over ten times by team for perceiving group consciousness. In result, most hypotheses were statistically supported except the relationship between group cohesion and perceived winning.
