위상 잡음 보상과 PAPR 저감을 고려한 DFT-Spread OFDM 통신 시스템 설계와 성능 평가 (Design and Performance Evaluation of the DFT-Spread OFDM Communication System for Phase Noise Compensation and PAPR Reduction)

  • 최근에 PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio)을 저감하기 위하여 DFT-Spread OFDM(Discrete Fourier Transform-Spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 이 많이 연구되고 있다. 그러나 DFT-Spread OFDM 시스템에서는 발진기에서 발생하는 위상 잡음에 의한 DFT 확산 코드의 위상 오프셋 불일치로 인하여 기존 OFDM 시스템에 비하여 상대적으로 더 많은 간섭 즉 ICI(Inter-sub-Carrier-Interference)와 SCI(Self-Channel- Interference) 성분이 발생하여 성능이 나빠진다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 DFT-Spread OFDM 시스템의 위상 잡음에 의한 통신 성능의 영향을 분석한다. 그리고 위상 잡음 보상을 위한 기존의 ICI 제거 기법 (ICI self-cancellation method)을 검토하고, 2 가지 새로운 ICI 제거 기법을 제안한다. 또한, PAPR을 저감하고 동시에 위상 잡음에 의해 간섭을 제거하기 위하여, 기존 방법과 새로이 제안한 ICI 제거 기법을 사용하는 새로운 시스템을 구성하고 그 성능을 비교 분석한다. 분석 결과, DFT-Spread OFDM 시스템에 ICI 제거 기법을 적용한 새로운 시스템은 낮은 PAPR 특성을 유지하면서 위상 잡음에 의한 성능 악화를 최소화할 수 있다. 그 중에서 data-conjugate 기법과 새로 제안한 symmetric data-conjugate 기법을 적용한 DFT-Spread OFDM 시스템이 제일 우수하여 DFT-Spread OFDM 보다 크게 성능이 개선되며, data-conjugate 기법을 적용한 DFT-Spread OFDM이 좀 더 우수하다.

아시알로페투인을 약물수송체로 이용한 아시클로버의 간표적화 (Hepatic Targeting of Acyclovir Using Asialofetuin as a Drug Carrier)

  • With the purpose of improving the therapeutic index of $[^3H]$ acyclovir (ACV) in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection, asialofetuin (AF) which after selective interaction with Ashwell's receptor specifically enters into hepatocytes, was chosen as a carrier system for hepatic targeting. This drug was first converted to its monophosphate (ACVMP), which was subsequently activated by water soluble carbodiimide to conjugate with ${\varepsilon}-NH_2$ groups of Iysine residues of AF. The molar ratio of ACVMP to AF in the conjugate was 3.9. In rats, elimination of ACVMP-AF conjugate after i.v. injection showed two phase elimination kinetics. Initial apparent elimination rate constant in rats was $0.191\;min^{-1}$ which was greater than that of ACV. The elimination rate constant from terminal phase was $0.021\;min^{-1}$. Area under the total radioactivities versus time curve was found to be several times larger in liver than in other organs (spleen, intestine, lung and kidney) after i.v. administration of the conjugate labelled in the drug moiety. The above results suggested that ACVMP-AF conjugate was rapidly taken up by hepatocytes and could be a useful hepatic targeting system.

Measurement of Free Polysaccharide in Tetanus Toxoid-Conjugate Vaccine Using Antibody/Ammonium Sulfate Precipitation

  • A method that effectively precipitates capsular polysaccharide of Haemophilus influenzae type b (polyribosylribitol phosphate, PRP) conjugated to tetanus toxoid (TT), PRP TT in a liquid vaccine has been developed to measure free PRP present in TT-conjugate vaccine. The method involves adding anti-TT antibody and ammonium sulfate to precipitate PRP-TT conjugate and measuring free PRP in tile supernatant. This new method provides a complete precipitation of the total PRP-TT, and provides an accurate and reproducible measurements of free PRP. The accuracy of the assay was confirmed by spiking known amounts of unconjugated PRP to PRP-TT conjugate, and the new method was found to have no effect on free PRP while precipitating PRP-TT. The published acid precipitation method did not produce reproducible results due to incomplete precipitation of PRP-TT, especially when the vaccine is formulated in a salt-buffered solution.

In vitro Drug Release Characteristics of Methotrexate-Human Serum Albumin and 5-Fluorouracil-Acetic Acid Human Serum Albumin Conjugates

  • The release rates of methotrexate (MTX) from MTX-human serum albumin (HSA) conjugate, and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) from 5-FU acetic acid (AA)-HSA conjugate were determined after incubation of the conjugates in various conditions. The concentrations of 5-FU released from the conjugate increased monoexponentially, however those of MTX increased biexponentially in all studies. It indicated that there are two distinct types of MTX-HSA linkage, weakly and tightly bound linkages. The release rates of 5-FU were lower than those of MTX in all studies indicating that the bond of 5-FU-AA-HSA conjugate is very stable, which is supported by the higher value of activation energy (39. 9 vs 10. 7 Kcal/mole) using Arrhenius equation. The release rates of MTX and 5 -FU from the conjugates increased with incubation temperatures. Proteolytic enzyme and liver homogenates accelerated significantly the release rates of MTX and 5-FU. Approximately 1.30 and 22.0% of MTX were released after 12 hours of incubation in the absence and presence of protease, respectively. The corresponding values for 5-FU were released after 12 hours of incubation with rat liver homogenates which were diluted 6 times with phosphate buffer of pH 6.0. The MTX-HSA and 5-FU-AA-HSA conjugates were very stable in rat plasma.

  • Objective : Foville syndrome & Foville-Millard-Gubler syndrome is a disease characterized by facial palsy, ipsilateral conjugate gaze palsy and ipsilateral internal strabismus. There has never been a clinical report of this disease in oriental medicine. Since gradual improvement has been experienced with oriental medical treatments based on facial palsy and paralytic strabismus in this case, it is worthwhile to introduce this disorder and report the case referring to clinical record. Methods : 75-year-old female patient and 45-year-old male patient suffering right facial palsy, right conjugate gaze palsy and right internal strabismus were treated with acupuncture, herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture and electroacupuncture. Result : Concurrence of right facial palsy, right conjugate gaze palsy and right internal strabismus was diagnosed with Foville syndrome or Foville-Millard-Gubler syndrome which is generally caused by the impairment of PPRF, abducens and facial nerves on the affected side and showed improvement with oriental medical treatments. Conclusion : More accurate diagnosis, more aggressive treatments and further researches are all required on this disease afterwards.

표준공액구배법과 수정공액구배법을 이용한 2차원 열전도 문제의 역해석 (An Inverse Analysis of Two-Dimensional Heat Conduction Problem Using Regular and Modified Conjugate Gradient Method)

  • A two-dimensional transient inverse heat conduction problem involving the estimation of the unknown location, ($X^*$, $Y^*$), and timewise varying unknown strength, $G({\tau})$, of a line heat source embedded inside a rectangular bar with insulated boundaries has been solved simultaneously. The regular conjugate gradient method, RCGM and the modified conjugate gradient method, MCGM with adjoint equation, are used alternately to estimate the unknown strength $G({\tau})$ of the source term, while the parameter estimation approach is used to estimate the unknown location ($X^*$, $Y^*$) of the line heat source. The alternate use of the regular and the modified conjugate gradient methods alleviates the convergence difficulties encountered at the initial and final times (i.e ${\tau}=0$ and ${\tau}={\tau}_f$), hence stabilizes the computation and fastens the convergence of the solution. In order to examine the effectiveness of this approach under severe test conditions, the unknown strength $G({\tau})$ is chosen in the form of rectangular, triangular and sinusoidal functions.

Conjugates of Enkephalin Analogs: Synthesis and Discrimination of μ and δ Opioid Receptors Based on Membrane Compartment Concept

  • A series of conjugated cyclic and linear enkephalin analogs, Tyr-c[D-A2bu-Gly-Phe-Asp(NH-X)], where X = methyl, stearyl or$ PEG_350$, and Tyr-D-Ala-Gly-Phe-Cys(S-X), where X = methyl, octyl, or farnesyl, were synthesized in solution to investigate the receptor selectivity of opioids based on Schwyzer's membrane compartment $concepts.^{5,6}$ Cyclizations of the target compounds were achieved in high yields (> 60%) employing BOP, $NaHCO_3$ in DMF despite the steric hindrance of the bulky pendant groups. In the binding assay, the hydrophobic fatty acyl conjugates retained $\mu$-receptor selectivity. The unsaturated farnesyl conjugate exhibited the increased binding affinity than the saturated stearyl conjugate for both $\mu$-and $\delta$-opioid receptors. The PEG conjugates displayed the $\delta$-receptor selectivity. The low molecular weight $PEG_350$ conjugate exhibited the increase selectivity than the high molecular weight $PEG_5000$ conjugate to the $\delta$-receptor. The results of this study support the membrane compartment concepts.
