The paper evaluates the aerodynamic coefficients on a blunt-nose re-entry capsule with a conical cross-section followed by a cone-flare body. A computer code is developed to solve three-dimensional compressible inviscid equationsfor flow over a Space Recovery Experiment (SRE) configuration at different flare-cone half-angle at Mach 6 and angle of attack up to 5°, at 1° interval. The surface pressure variation is numerically integrated to obtain the aerodynamic forces and pitching moment. The numerical analysis reveals the influence of flare-cone geometry on the flow characteristics and aerodynamic coefficients. The numerical results agree with wind tunnel results. Increase of cone-flare angle from 25° to 35° results in increase of normal force slope, axial forebody drag, base drag and location of centre of pressure by 62.5%, 56.2% and 33.13%, respectively, from the basic configuration ofthe SRE of 25°.
In general the swirl jet is generated by the injected flow that is forced to the tangential direction. A spiral nozzle which is composed of an annular slit and a convergent nozzle, is released the spiral jet that is generated by the radial flow injection through an annular slit. The objective of the present study is to investigate the additional study that is studied a changed the convergent nozzle angle and nozzle length. In the present computation, a finite volume scheme is used to solve three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with RNG $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model. The convergent nozzle angle and the nozzle length of the spiral nozzle are varied to obtain different spiral flows inside the conical convergent nozzle. The present computational results are compared with the previous experimental data. The results obtained show that the convergent nozzle angle and the nozzle length of the spiral jet strongly influence the characteristics of the spiral jets, such as a tangential and a jet width.

In this paper, we described the model of noise, target for tracking radar and range tracking, angle tracking, and Doppler frequency tracking for target acquisition and tracking. Target signal as well as the noise signal is modeled as random process varying with elapsed time. This paper addresses three areas of radar target tracking: range tracking, angle tracking, and Doppler frequency tracking. In general, range tracking is prerequisite to and inherent in both angle and Doppler frequency tracking systems. First, we introduced the several range tracking and described techniques for achieving range tracking. Second, we described the radar angle tracking techniques including conical scan, sequential lobing, and monopulse. Finally, we presented concepts and techniques for Doppler frequency tracking for several radar types.

We propose a novel feed network for a $2{\times}2$ array antenna to form a sectoral conical beam. The proposed feed network, which is a symmetrical structure, consists of four $90^{\circ}$ hybrids, a crossover, and four $90^{\circ}$ delay lines. To verify the performance of the feed network a $2{\times}2$ array antenna and the feed network are fabricated on a microstrip structure, and the radiation patterns are measured at the center frequency of 2.57 GHz. The maximum radiation is measured at the $45^{\circ}$ elevation angle and at the $45^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$, $225^{\circ}$, and $315^{\circ}$ azimuth angles depending on the choice of the input port of the feed network.

This paper analyzed the partial differential equations of laminated composite shells of revolution by using the finite difference method. The proof that numerical results are reasonable and accurate is obtained through converge ratio analysis and commercial program LUSAS for the structural analysis. The purpose of this study is to examine closely the engineering advantages and to analyze the structural behaviors of the anisotropic shells of revolution. Thus, the relevant reinforcement and most suitable arrangement of fiber to produce the highest strength are proposed through the numerical results according to a variety of parameter study. Namely, the distribution of displacements and stress resultants are analyzed according to the change of meridian's curvature, the ratio of height-width of shell, subtended angle, fiber angle, and so on. Using these distribution, the most suitable shell may be proposed to produce the highest strength. Also, the configuration of the entire laminated composite conical shells is analysed, and a variety of the design criterion of circular conical shell are proposed and studied in engineering view points.
The specially-shaped Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) cutter is widely used in drill bit design due to its advantages of high rock cutting efficiency, strong impact resistance and long service life in hard and abrasive formation drilling. A detailed understanding of rock cutting behavior of worn specially-shaped PDC cutter is essential to improve the drilling efficiency and decrease the drilling costs. In this paper, the theoretical models of two new principles (loading performance (LP) and cutting performance (CP)) are derived for evaluating the cutting process of worn specially-shaped cutter, the theoretical models consider the factors, such as cutter geometry, aggressiveness, stress state, working life, and rock cutting efficiency. Besides, the numerical model of heterogeneous granite is developed using finite element method combined with Voronoi tessellation, the LP and CP of 12 kinds of worn specially-shaped PDC (SPDC) cutters are analyzed. The results found that the mechanical specific energy (MSE) of worn cutters first increase and then decrease with increasing the cutting depth, and the MSE increase with the increase of back rake angle except for Conical cutter and Wedge-shaped cutter. From the perspective of CP, the worn PDC cutters are more suitable for the smaller cutting depths, and the back rake angle has little effect on the CP of the specially-shaped worn PDC cutters. Conical cutter, Saddle-shaped cutter and Ellipse-shaped cutter have the highest CP value, while Rhombus-shaped cutter, Convex cutter and Wedge-shaped cutter have the lowest value in selecting cutters. This research leads to an enhanced understanding of rock-breaking mechanisms of worn SPDC cutters, and provides the basis to select of specially-shaped PDC cutters for the specific target formation.

This paper is concerned with anisogrid composite lattice structures whose load bearing shell is formed by systems of geodesic unidirectional composite ribs made by automatic wet winding process. Lattice structures are usually made in the form of conical shell and consist of systems of helical and hoop ribs fabricated by continuous filament winding from carbon and epoxy composites. Design variables of the structure which are the angle of helical ribs and ribs spacings are determined by cone geometry and geodesic line. and Fabrication methods for the conical composite lattice structure are presented.
We analyze high dispersion emission lines of the symbiotic nova AG Pegasi, observed in 1998, 2001, and 2002. The Hα and Hβ lines show three components, two narrow and one underlying broad line components, but most other lines, such as HI, HeI, and HeII lines, show two blue- and red-shifted components only. A recent study by Lee & Hyung (2018) suggested that the double Gaussian lines emitted from a bipolar conical shell are likely to form Raman scattering lines observed in 1998. In this study, we show that the bipolar cone with an opening angle of 74°, which expands at a velocity of 70 km s-1 along the polar axis of the white dwarf, can accommodate the observed double line profiles in 1998, 2001, and 2002. We conclude that the emission zone of the bipolar conical shell, which formed along the bipolar axis of the white dwarf due to the collimation by the accretion disk, is responsible for the double Gaussian profiles.
In this study, to analyze the shaped drawing process from round bar, the practical conical die with considering die radius and bearing was defined by a mathematical expression, and also a simple technique for initial mesh generation to the shaped drawing process was proposed. The drawing of rectangular section from round bar, one of the shaped drawing process, has been simulated by using non-steady state 3D rigid plastic finite element method in order to evaluate the influence of semi-die angle and reduction in area to corner filling. Other process variables such as friction constant, rectangular ratio, die radius and bearing length were fixed during the simulation. An artificial neural network has been introduced to obtain the optimal process conditions which gave rise to a fast simulation.
Copper clad aluminum composite materials are being used for economic and structural purposes, The development of an efficient production method of copper clad aluminum composite material rods by extrusion is very important. This paper describes experimental investigations in the direct extrusion of copper clad aluminum rods through conical dies. There are several parameters that have an influence on determining a sound clad extrusion. These variables are extrusion temperature, extrusion ratio, semi-cone angle of die, extrusion force, extrusion velocity, friction of between the container and billet, percentage of copper used and ratio of flow stress of copper to aluminum. In order to investigate the influence of extrusion temperature, extrusion ratio, semi-cone angle of die on the hot direct extrudability of the copper clad aluminum composite material rods, the experimental study have been performed with these variation.
