Prediction of Speed in Urban Freeway Having More Freight Vehicles - Based in I-696 in Michigan -

  • Generally an urban freeway means a primary arterial which provides road users with a free-flow speed, except for ramp junctions during rush hours. However, most road users suffer from traffic congestion in the basic segments as well as in the ramp junctions of urban freeway during rush hours, because most road users prefer urban freeways to local roads in the urban areas. This study then intends to analyze lane traffic characteristics of urban freeway basic segments having more freight vehicles during rush hours, find the lane showing a high correlation with the segment speed between lane speeds, and finally suggest a segment-speed predictive model by the lane speed of urban freeway basic segments during rush hours.

  • In this paper, the authors present a row dynamic route planning by Q-learning. The proposed algorithm is executed in a cellular automation based traffic simulator, which is also newly created. In Vehicle Information and Communication System(VICS), which is an active field of Intelligent Transport System(ITS), information of traffic congestion is sent to each vehicle at real time. However, a centralized navigation system is not realistic to guide millions of vehicles in a megalopolis. Autonomous distributed systems should be more flexible and scalable, and also have a chance to focus on each vehicles demand. In such systems, each vehicle can search an own optimal route. We employ Q-learning of the reinforcement learning method to search an optimal or sub-optimal route, in which route drivers can avoid traffic congestions.   • Because many light rail transit systems are mainly operated in the downtown areas of a large cities and the congestion areas, there are many steep gradients and sharp radius sections in that lines. As that reasons above, light rail vehicles are equipped with differential gear units between traction motors and final reduction gear units. In this paper, the configurations and the interferences of 2K-H I type Planetary gear train, which is applicable for light rail vehicles and based on various differential gear units, are studied.   • In this study, to identify the ineffectiveness of inter-connected system of cargo volume between the Pusan Port and inland areas and also to make more rational suggestions, the following conclusions were drawn by analyzing Container Cargo Traffic from BCTOC to Off-Dock CY: 1. There existed about 30% to 50% reduction in the container transport times when the container transport vehicles were operated during the off-peak period to alleviate the traffic congestion due to mixed traffic. 2. There appeared to be more economic when Off-Dock DY's scattered around the City of Pusan were unified in one ODCY Unit at YangSan, and the Exclusive Overpass Freeway System for the container transport vehicles were constructed and operated on the existing Urban Freeway from BCTOC ti this ODCY Unit (Expected to make about 230 billions Won in net present value by NPV method).

  • An intelligent road transport management system focused on microscopic, real-time traffic signal control is proposed. Referring to the development of those systems in Japan, extensive use of image traffic detectors observing the movement of vehicles inside intersections, and direct data exchange between the signal controllers of neighboring intersections are newly assumed. On site investigation of five intersections in Japan or in Malaysia shows the possibility of effective information provision and simple algorithm for solving heavy congestion, as well as easy installation.

  • 하이브리드 자동차를 연구로 목적으로 논문을 설계합니다. 히이브리드 자동차는 내연 기관과 배터리 엔진을 동시에 장착하여 기존의 일반 차량에 비해 연비와 유해가스 배출량을 획기적으로 줄인 차세대 자동차로 전기모터는 차량 내부에 장착된 고전압 배터리로부터 전원을 공급받고, 배터리는 자동차가 움직일 때 다시 충전되는 시스템을 가진 차를 연구로 기존 자동차의 에너지 손실은 대부분 교통 혼잡에 따른 공회전을 보완해 차량의 속도나 주행 상태 등에 따라 시간과 차량 정지시 발생하는데 하이브리드 시스템은 이 같은 가솔린 또는 디젤 엔진의 단점엔진과 모터 힘을 적절하게 제어함으로써 효율성을 극대화시킨 차라고 할 수 있다. 하이브리드 차는 연비 개선, 환경 친화성, 경제성, 노이즈 감소 등 다양한 장점을 가지고 있어서 점차 많은 사람들에게 선택되고 있는 대안적인 자동차 옵션입니다. 해당 연구를 통해 환경오염을 방지하고 미래 자동차 연구를 위해 노력을 기울일수 있을 것입니다.

  • 자동차 네트워크 환경에서 기본적인 목표는 도로 상에서 자동차 안전과 ITS(Intelligent Transportation System), 비디오 등의 상업 서비스를 제공하는 것이다. 그리고 대부분의 연구들이 혼잡 상황에서의 자동차 안전을 위한 안전 메시지 전송에 대해 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 차량 안전 메시지 전달을 위한 채널 이용도 중요한 요소지만, 적합한 서비스를 제공하는 것 또한 중요하다. 이를 위해서 IEEE 1609.4에서 상업 서비스 전달을 위한 4개의 채널을 지정하고 있지만 혼잡 상황과 같이 많은 자동차들이 존재하는 경우, 각각의 자동차들에 채널 경쟁으로 인해서, 안전메시지 전송 문제가 발생하는 것처럼 서비스 채널의 부족으로 인해 서비스의 제공이 제대로 이루어지지 않는 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 동적 채널 할당 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 RSU(RoadSide Unit)에서 서비스에 대한 정보와 채널의 상태 정보를 관리하며, 큐에 전송 데이터를 저장하고 SJF(Shortest Job First) 스케쥴링을 기반으로 RSU가 관리하는 정보를 통해 네트워크 혼잡 상황 하에 데이터 전송을 위한 IEEE 1609.4에 지정된 4채널에서 적합한 채널을 선택한다.

Designing a Vehicles for Open-Pit Mining with Optimized Scheduling Based on 5G and IoT

  • In the Recent times, various technological enhancements in the field of artificial intelligence and big data has been noticed. This advancement coupled with the evolution of the 5G communication and Internet of Things technologies, has helped in the development in the domain of smart mine construction. The development of unmanned vehicles with enhanced and smart scheduling system for open-pit mine transportation is one such much needed application. Traditional open-pit mining systems, which often cause vehicle delays and congestion, are controlled by human authority. The number of sensors has been used to operate unmanned cars in an open-pit mine. The sensors haves been used to prove the real-time data in large quantity. Using this data, we analyses and create an improved transportation scheduling mechanism so as to optimize the paths for the vehicles. Considering the huge amount the data received and aggregated through various sensors or sources like, the GPS data of the unmanned vehicle, the equipment information, an intelligent, and multi-target, open-pit mine unmanned vehicle schedules model was developed. It is also matched with real open-pit mine product to reduce transport costs, overall unmanned vehicle wait times and fluctuation in ore quality. To resolve the issue of scheduling the transportation, we prefer to use algorithms based on artificial intelligence. To improve the convergence, distribution, and diversity of the classic, rapidly non-dominated genetic trial algorithm, to solve limited high-dimensional multi-objective problems, we propose a decomposition-based restricted genetic algorithm for dominance (DBCDP-NSGA-II).

Dynamics-Based Location Prediction and Neural Network Fine-Tuning for Task Offloading in Vehicular Networks

  • Task offloading in vehicular networks is hot topic in the development of autonomous driving. In these scenarios, due to the role of vehicles and pedestrians, task characteristics are changing constantly. The classical deep learning algorithm always uses a pre-trained neural network to optimize task offloading, which leads to system performance degradation. Therefore, this paper proposes a neural network fine-tuning task offloading algorithm, combining with location prediction for pedestrians and vehicles by the Payne model of fluid dynamics and the car-following model, respectively. After the locations are predicted, characteristics of tasks can be obtained and the neural network will be fine-tuned. Finally, the proposed algorithm continuously predicts task characteristics and fine-tunes a neural network to maintain high system performance and meet low delay requirements. From the simulation results, compared with other algorithms, the proposed algorithm still guarantees a lower task offloading delay, especially when congestion occurs.

제주지역 다지교차로의 회전교차로 교통시스템 변환에 따른 효과분석 (Effectiveness Analysis of Transforming Many-Legs Type Intersection into Roundabout in Jeju)

  • 회전교차로는 평면교차로의 일종으로 교차로 중앙에 원형교통섬을 두고 교차로를 통과하는 자동차가 원형교통섬을 우회하도록 하는 교차로 형식이다. 본 연구에서는 신호교차로와 회전교차로의 운영 및 경제적 효과를 분석하기 위해서 제주지역의 5개 교차로를 중심으로 회전교차로 설치에 따른 비교 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 차량평균지체 측면에서 신호교차로에 비해 회전교차로가 65.6%%에서 91.77%의 개선효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 차량운행비용과 시간가치비용을 종합한 교통혼잡비용의 효과를 분석한 결과, 년간 58.59%(D intersection)에서 81.69%(B intersection)의 비용절감 효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 이를 통해 제주지역의 경우 신호교차로에 비해서 회전교차로가 운영 효과가 뛰어난 것으로 조사되었다.
