The quality of Internet services such as VOD and Web storage services deteriorates as the number of users increases beyond a certain point. However, most of the pricing mechanisms in research as well as those in practice do not reflect such situations (i.e., congestion). The purpose of this paper is to show that different types of pricing mechanisms are required and to model such situations using game theory. We extend Fishburn & Odlyzko(1999) model, in which the service quality is the same for the different pricing schemes, to reflect the situations where the service quality is different between the different pricing schemes due to congestion.
With the recent development in microsurgery, the use of a perforator flap has been widely implemented. If the length of the ALT flap pedicle is insufficient despite adequate preoperative planning, pedicle length extension is necessary. We planned for a reverse ALT free flap using the distal vessel of the descending branch for pedicle length extension in the case of ALT perforator branch originating from the proximal portion of the descending branch. For the management of venous congestion, the distal venae comitantes were anastomosed to the proximal venous stump in an antegrade manner, successfully resolving the venous congestion. Modified reverse-flow ALT free flap, wherein the venae comitantes are anastomosed to the proximal vein stump, is a good option that allows for relatively simple pedicle extension within the same operative field when securing an adequate pedicle length is difficult because of the origin of the perforator from the proximal descending branch, unlike the initial surgical plan.
In the last decade, substantial progress has been achieved in intelligent traffic control technologies to overcome consistent difficulties of traffic congestion and its adverse effect on smart cities. Edge computing is one such advanced progress facilitating real-time data transmission among vehicles and roadside units to mitigate congestion. An edge computing-based deep reinforcement learning system is demonstrated in this study that appropriately designs a multiobjective reward function for optimizing different objectives. The system seeks to overcome the challenge of evaluating actions with a simple numerical reward. The selection of reward functions has a significant impact on agents' ability to acquire the ideal behavior for managing multiple traffic signals in a large-scale road network. To ascertain effective reward functions, the agent is trained withusing the proximal policy optimization method in several deep neural network models, including the state-of-the-art transformer network. The system is verified using both hypothetical scenarios and real-world traffic maps. The comprehensive simulation outcomes demonstrate the potency of the suggested reward functions.

TCP is considered a major candidate transport protocol even for constrained IoT networks due to its ability to integrate into the existing network infrastructures. Since TCP implementations such as uIP TCP often allow only a single TCP segment per connection to be unacknowledged at any given time due to resource constraints, the congestion control relies only on RTO management. In our previous work, to address the problem that uIP TCP performs poorly particularly when a radio duty cycling mechanism is enabled and the hidden terminal problem is severe, we proposed a RTO scheme for uIP TCP and validated the performance through Cooja simulation. In this study, we investigate the effect of other factors that were not considered in our previous work. More specifically, the effect of traffic intensity, the degree of the hidden terminal problem, and RDC is investigated by varying the offered load and the transmission range, and the RDC channel check rate. Simulation results imply that we need to further investigate how to improve TCP performance when the radio duty cycling mechanism is used.
Most of Cities are suffering from the traffic congestion problem with the vehicles increased. Especially, the City of Pusan is experiencing the severest traffic congestion with the lower read capacity and the higher travel demand than any other cities in the country. Thus, the purpose of this study was to grasp the conditions, review the problems and finally suggest the improvements which we faced at this time for the construction of the Urban Transportation System considered in Pusan area. Based upon the results, it was concluded that firstly the Urban Transportation System(UTS) in Pusan area should be constructed by the Public Transportation System in the center of the Public Transit Modes(i.e., bus and subway), secondly the Para-transit Modes(i.e., Light Rail Transit, LRT) introduced, and thirdly the Transportation Demand Management(TDM) implemented with the expansion of the transportation facilities if possible.
The ubiquitous transportation system environments make it possible to collect each vehicle's position and velocity data and to perform more sophisticated traffic flow management at individual vehicle or platoon level through V2V and V2I communication. It is necessary to develop a new traffic management paradigm to take advantage of the ubiquitous transportation system environments. This paper proposed a preventive congestion management algorithm for uninterrupted flow, whose goal is to minimize the incident potential and maximize the productivity by maintaining traffic flow stability. The algorithm includes the following steps: Processing the raw data to produce the 3-dimension speed/flow/density profile and to produce the platoon profile and the shock wave profile, Determining the traffic state and the flow stability based on the processed data, Deciding the desirable speed the according the traffic flow state, and finally Providing the desirable speed information. It remains as further work to perform field experiments and calibrate the algorithm parameters.

There are several ways to solve parking problem in the downtown. One of them is to manage parking efficiently, that is, to raise use-efficiency of parking place and to help in the block efficiently, it can prevent disproportion that some parking space is over capacity and the other parking one is under. It causes not only the disproportion of economic efficiency but also the congestion of local road. The precondition to manage parking efficiently is to analyse the parking characteristics. In this paper we build up total D/B by collecting every information about parking space. We developed the Parking Management System by using RFID and Sensor. The efficient Parking Management System is for convenience of drivers and efficient usage of parking space. And this system is also the basic study to be developed as the total Parking Management System by upgrading every information.

MTC(Machine Type Communications), providing a variety of services anytime and anywhere by connecting the cellular network to the machine and things without human intervention, is being considered as a major challenge of the next-generation communications. Currently, When a massive MTC devices simultaneously connect to the network, each MTC device needs an independent access authentication process. Because of this process, authentication signaling congestion and overload problems will cause in LTE-Advanced. In this paper, we propose a group-based authentication protocol and a key management protocol. For managing the MTC devices as group units, the proposed protocol elects a group leader and authentications only once with the core network. After the authentication is completed, a group leader manages the rest members and MME(Mobility Management Entity) by constructing a binary tree. Finally, the propose protocol analysis show that the proposed protocol not only can reduces the authentication signaling which generated in between the MTC devices and the core network but also can manages the MTC devices, efficiently.

In this paper, we propose an end-to-end mobility management and TCP flow control scheme which considers different link characteristics for vertical handover environments. The end-to-end mobility management is performed by using SIP protocol. When a mobile node moves to a new network, it informs its movement of the correspondent node by sending SIP INFO message containing a new IP address which will be used in the new network. And then the corresponding node encapsulates all packets with the new IP address and sends them to the mobile node. in general, RTT of WLAN is shorter than RTT of cdma2000. when the MN moves from WLAN network to cdma2000 network, TCP retransmission timeout will be occurred in spite of non congestion situations. Thus, TCP congestion window size will be decreased and TCP throughput will be also decreased. To prevent this phenomenon, we propose a method using probe packets after handover to estimate a link delay of the new network. We also propose a method using bandwidth ratio of each network to update RTT. It is shown through NS-2 simulations that the proposed schemes can have better performance than the previous works.
Policy base management system that can satisfy various user's request in distributed system environment recently and manage network resources efficiently is required. Described policy base management information consisted of ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rules so that efficient management of various communication network and consistent management policy may be available in this paper. Policy is consisted of Event, Condition and Actions to achieve when condition is satisfied. And we can present formality of dynamic function of management object as applying policy to ATM congestion control model been applying in real environment.
