  • Targeting people returning to farming and also people preparing for returning to farming, this study analyzed differences in awareness of conflict factors and conflict management focusing on the conflicts experiencing in the process of their movement and settlement process in rural area. In the results, people preparing for returning to farming showed higher awareness of conflicts and also higher necessity of conflict management than people already returning to farming. Also, both groups preferred individual conflict management to structural conflict management. Based on the results like above, the implications can be summarized like below. First, it would be necessary to have programs informing possible conflicts in advance in the process of returning to farming and also relieving psychological anxiety by providing prior-learning to people preparing for returning to farming. Second, it would be necessary to have individual conflict management measures to establish mutual trust and to form community spirit through regular social gatherings between original residents and people returning to farming. Since the effect of conflict management can be maximized only when the structural and individual conflict managements are properly harmonized, it would be necessary to have the structural conflict management which is relatively felt difficult.

  • The main objectives of this study are (1) to identify the conflict types in IS integration process with respect to M&A, (2) to propose the ways to manage the origin of conflict to be expected, and (3) to develop the conflict management model which establishes the relationship among the M&A strategy, the IS integration strategy and change management process that influence the source of conflict. In order to achieve these research objectives, this study focuses on banking industry under M&A with the viewpoint of change management instead of existing technology-oriented IS integration strategy. The findings of this study are thought not only to be useful as a practical guideline in carrying out IS integration project under M&A but also to provide significant basis for constructing the theoretical framework of effective IS integration strategy.

As their interests and goals are different conflict arises in the process of their interaction, and it is an important factor affecting outsourcing success. The study focuses on the conflict between client users and vendor, i.e. main conflict in the outsourcing project, and examines the relationship of conflict with project success, the antecedents of conflict, and investigates the effectiveness of conflict resolution facilitation. An integrated conceptual model is developed grounded on is outsourcing, IS development, project management, and organizational behavior literature. Nine specific hypotheses on the conflict in outsourcing projects are proposed, and data collection and analysis are performed with 214 ISD outsourcing projects. Results indicated that the conflict between client users and vendor in outsourcing projects was found to have negative effects on project success. Main causes affecting conflict were examined, and relative influences of these causes were clarified. Recently internal IT personnel have been faced their role change with the increase of outsourcing, and the importance of their conflict resolution facilitation was highlighted.

  • Nagoya Protocol designed to establish criteria about material trade of biological genetic resources(ABS) was adopted in the 10th conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. In the course of the negotiation for adoption of the protocol, there was conflict between developed and developing countries, resource-rich and poor countries, and multinational corporations and environmentalists. This study investigates conflict process, subjects, issues and major factors in the negotiation case, and analyzes the negotiation by using the Conflict Management Process. To develope conflict management strategies for various conflict cases, we examine previous studies and analyze the intersectional conflict factors of this case and general cases, such as Fundamental side, Resource-allocation side, and Communication/Information-sharing side. These analyses of conflict prevention/resolution of the ABS negotiation show the importance of building mutual trust among stakeholders, enhancing mediator training, and constructing appropriate legislative/policy systems for successful conflict management.

  • Public conflicts in the port sector can cause additional social costs and delay the supply of port infrastructure, which can negatively affect local industries and national competitiveness. Although the importance of conflict management in the port sector is gradually increasing, there is still no systematic conflict management countermeasure. Therefore, in this study, the limitations of the current conflict management system in the port sector were considered, and a Delphi survey was conducted targeting experts and stakeholders in the port sector and conflict management. In addition, criteria for diagnosing conflicts in the port sector, causes of conflicts, proactive management measures, and ex post solutions were derived. The results of the Delphi survey analysis showed that the biggest causes of conflict were the absence of stakeholder opinion collection, consultation, and communication tools. Preliminary conflict management measures including a public deliberation process to collect local opinions and discuss development directions before deciding on specific issues, and ex post conflict resolution measures including investigation of causes of conflicts and objective personnel management in the process of preparing alternatives (e.g., securing reliability) were determined as the most important factors. In addition, based on the results obtained in this study, conflict management techniques for each phase of the port development project were presented. These findings are expected to be used as a useful reference material to reflect the port sector, which has not been included in the "Public Institution Conflict Management Manual (2016)" of the Office for Government Policy Coordination.

  • In this era of cut-throat competition, innovation is a source of competitive advantage, and securing core competency through innovation plays a pivotal role in ensuring the survival and growth of an organization. In an organization, R&D team is a core division driving innovation, and creative tension and conflict among researchers fuels innovative performance. Despite heated debate over the positive and negative effects of conflict, insufficiently-identified process factors have left sophisticated mechanisms between conflicts and effects unaddressed. This study assumes that team learning behaviors can bean important process factor given that conflict propels learning, and that learning is a decisive factor in creating competitive advantage. This study conducted an empirical analysis of the relationship between relationship/task conflict and team innovative performance, and the mediating role of team learning behaviors using data collected from a questionnaire sent out to the heads of 262 R&D teams and second highest-ranking officials thereof. The analysis conducted based on structural equation model indicates that relationship conflict has negatively affected team learning behaviors, whereas task conflict has positively influenced team learning behaviors(full mediation effect), team learning behaviors has positively influenced team innovative performance. Based on these results, the study has suggested implications of intra-team conflict and team learning behaviors for team innovative performance.

However, the damage would be indirectly and directly brought to the main parties in apartment reconstruction project because the conflicts aren't managed. Thus, an effective conflict assessment should be preceded, and a process and a system for managing the conflicts should be developed to prevent and settle the conflicts. The purpose of this study classifies the conflicts which are occurred on each phase of the project based on principal facts, and presents the process to develop conflict management system through conflict assessment to each stakeholder.
