Convergence Study on Flow Characteristic due to the Configuration of Water Tank (물탱크의 형상에 따른 유동 특성에 관한 융합 연구)

  • In this study, the flow characteristics happening inside water tank due to the configuration of various water tank were analyzed by using a computation fluid dynamics program, ANSYS CFX. This study also examined which model was most efficient at the flow by changing the flow conditions of the inlet and outlet due to the configuration of various tank. Same material was applied to models A, B and C. As the result of flow analysis, it was shown that model B had the best flow and model C had the highest pressure applied to the flow. So, though the water tank has the same material according to the configuration of product, the velocity and pressure of flow become different. Therefore, it is thought to develop the tank good for the fluid flow due to the product configuration through this flow analysis result. On the basis of this study result, the esthetic sense can be shown as the analysis data of flow due to the configuration of fluid tank are grafted onto the real life.

  • This paper presents a model of e-learning based on ubiquitous computing configuration. First of all, we survey the advanced e-learning systems for foreign and domestic universities. Next we propose the optimal e-learning model based on ubiquitous computing configuration. The proposed e-learning model as following. we propose the e-learning system's hardware and software configurations, that are server and networking systems. Also, we construct the proposed e-learning systems's services. There are attendance and absence service, class management service, common knowledge service, score processing service, facilities management service, personal management service, personal authorization issue management service, campus guide service, lecture-hall management service. Then we propose the laboratory equipment management service, experimental materials management service etc. The proposed model of e-learning based on ubiquitous computing configuration will be able to contribute to the next generation university educational paradigm.

A Convergent Study on Flow According to the Configuration of Small Car Muffler (소형 자동차의 머플러 형상에 따른 유동에 관한 융합 연구)

  • The flow analysis by each configuration of automotive muffler in this study was carried out. And it aims at finding the design model that can increase the flow property best. It is shown that model B has the lowest maximum pressure and model C has the largest. Compared with the best flow rate according to the shape of the automotive muffler, model A had the comparatively smooth flow stream at the entrance and exit. However, model B has the largest flow rate in the muffler but the least flow rate in the exit, making it look less efficient. By the flow analysis result according to the muffler configuration, it is thought to design the muffler effectively by looking for the model with more smooth flow. The result of this study can be used to investigate the flow according to the configuration of small car muffler without actual test. It also seems to be helpful in the aesthetic convergent design of small car muffler.

  • As a shipboard dependency for the safety and reliability becomes very important, the need for solid systems providing non-stop workload has been increased. This system is heartbeat that transmits shipboard state, audit and control information to the land. So, this paper describes a ship's LAN configuration method for the safety and reliability. In order to achieve these requirements, network, server and disk fault tolerance techniques are surveyed, and dual network configuration model, cluster server configuration method are presented and tested based on the survey.

Active tendon control of suspension bridges: Study on the active cables configuration

  • In a previous study, the potential of damping suspension bridges with active stay cables has been evaluated on a numerical model of a suspension bridge, and demonstrated experimentally on a laboratory mockup. In this paper, we extend our study to explore two different configurations of the active stay-cables: one classical configuration, corresponding to attaching the active stay-cables between the top of the pylons and the deck (configuration I) and, another configuration, consisting of attaching the stay-cables between the base of the pylons and the catenary (configuration II). The analysis confirmed that both configurations are effective with a slight superiority of the second configuration. The study is conducted numerically and experimentally on a suspension bridge mock-up, by considering two types of active stay-cables. The experimental results confirmed the numerical predictions, and demonstrated the effectiveness of the second configuration.

  • This study aims to analyze which subsidiary configuration strategy is more effective under uncertainty especially technology base multinational corporations (henceforth MNCs). In previous studies real option theory scholars argue that high breadth subsidiary configuration is most effective strategy because that provides flexibility to MNCs global network. In this study I want unveil more various types of uncertainty such as technology and learning uncertainty which are more important for technology base firm and further more examine the effect of MNCs subsidiary configuration on firm R&D performance each uncertainty case. Empirical study is performed by negative binominal model based on Japanese 108 multinational corporations. The result shows that under technology uncertainty, high breadth subsidiary configuration is better for firm R&D performance but under learning uncertainty high depth subsidiary configuration is better. Thus, the effects of MNCs subsidiary configuration on firm value can differ by types of uncertainty.

  • This paper introduces an integration of Product Data Management (PDM) and Software Configuration Management (SCM). PDM and SCM have supported development of mechanical products and software products respectively. The importance of software components in the current products increases rapidly since the software enables the products to satisfy various customer requirements efficiently. Therefore the current product development needs enhanced product data management that can control both the hardware and software data seamlessly. This paper proposes an extended product data model for integrating SCM into PDM. The extension enables PDM document management to support the version control for software development. It also enables engineers to control both the software and hardware parts as integrated data objects during product configuration and engineering change management. The proposed model is implemented by using a commercial Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and a development of a network based robot system is tested by the implemented product development environment.

  • This paper introduces our development of a MIMO-OTA system with simplified configuration. The key element of our proposal is the adoption of an antenna branch-controlled configuration for generating multipath delayed waves. The signal processing is carried out on IF band signal with an FPGA in a fading-emulator-type MIMO-OTA measurement system. The proposed scheme is largely different from available system configurations for the fading simulator method of constructing the OTA test environment. We describe the principle of the proposed scheme, channel model incorporated in the system, basic configuration of the developed system, and its performance.

  • The purpose in this study was to investigate stages of concern of home economics teachers about the practical reasoning instruction(PRI) innovation configuration. levels of use. using Concerns Based Adoption Model(CBAM) The design of the study was descriptive. The Questionnaires of stages of concern. levels of use. and innovation configuration developed by Hall in 1987 were used. Data from HE teachers were collected through mailing. focus interview. and phone calls. Mean. percents. an frequencies were used to describe stages of concern, level of use. and innovation configuration. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The highest number of HE teacher respondents was stage 1. Information in March and july. 2 In terms of mean of PRI configuration. percentile. the HE teachers had implemented over 63% of the PRI elements and the cooperative learning elements in both March and July. However. of evaluation elements, 33% in March and 47% in July had been conducted. 3. The highest number of HE teacher respondents was level 3. Mechanical level in March. and July.

  • To evaluate the aerodynamic efficiency of TR-S4 configuration, wind tunnel tests of 40% scaled model were done in KARI LSWT. TR-S4 configuration has different nacelle shape, larger EO/IR camera and aftward wing location compared with TR-S2. Component build-up test after adding each element of model is performed. Also effects of horizontal tail incidences, Flaperon and Aileron deflection. on aerodynamic characteristics are measured. Test results showed that TR-S4 configuration has favorable stability characteristics in longitudinal, lateral and directional for the pitch and yaw motions.
