  • In this paper, it is presents a new approach to the design of neural control system using digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness. Robotic manipulators have become increasingly important in the field of flexible automation. High speed and high-precision trajectory tracking are indispensable capabilities for their versatile application. The need to meet demanding control requirement in increasingly complex dynamical control systems under significant uncertainties, leads toward design of intelligent manipulation robots. The TMS320C3x is used in implementing real time neural control to provide an enhanced motion control for robotic manipulators. In this control scheme, the networks introduced are neural nets with dynamic neurons, whose dynamics are distributed over all the network nodes. The nets are trained by the distributed dynamic back propagation algorithm. The proposed neural network control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, andsuitable for implementation of robust control.

  • Developable surface plays an important role in computer aided design and manufacturing systems. This paper is concerned with improving the develop ability of mesh. Since subdivision is an efficient way to design complicated surface, we intend to improve the developability of the mesh obtained from Loop subdivision. The problem is formulated as a constrained optimization problem. The optimization is performed on the coordinates of the points of the mesh, together with the constraints of minimizing shape difference and maximizing developability, a developability improved mesh is obtained.

  • The SRM can be operated on the high speed range in which the back-emf is greater than the DC link voltage. However, the phase current of the SRM should be controlled through the selection of an exciting angle since it can not be controlled by a chop of the DC link voltage in the high speed range. In this paper, a PI and a bang-bang controller are employed in order to control the speed of the SRM and the leading angle of the SRM is adapted as a control input. The performances of two controllers are evaluated by computer simulation. The results show that the bang-bang controller is more attractive than the PI controller in the cost and performance aspects.

  • 협상은 상거래에 있어서 매우 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 현재의 웹 기반 전자상거래 시스템은 이러한 중요한 협상 구조를 상거래에 잘 반영하지 못하는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점중 기업과 소비자간의 미비한 협상 구조를 보안하기 위해 실세계 상거래에서 존재하는 점원을 전자상거래상의 가상점원으로 모델링하여 회사의 정책과 구매자의 특성을 반영하여 구매자와 전략적으로 자동 협상을 수행할 수 있는 에이전트의 구조를 설계하고 표현하고, 그 제안에 대한 평가 내용과 결정사항을 전달할 수 있는 언어적인 구조가 필요하며, 협상의 대상이 되는 사안들의 특성을 반영할 수 있는 표현 구조도 요구된다. 또한 이러한 협상에서 전략을 세우고 알맞은 제안을 제시하며 상대의 제안에 대하여 전략적으로 반응할 수 있는 의사결정 모델이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 회사의 정책 모델과 구매자의 모델을 정의하고 이를 이용한 협상 모델을 설계 구현하였다. 협상 구조의 모델링을 위해 KQML(Knowledge Query Manipulation Language)을 기반으로 전자상거래 프로토콜로 설계하고, 논쟁 기반 협상 모델을 기초로 협상언어를 설계하였다. 또한 협상에서의 전략적인 의사결정을 위해 게임이론을 이용하고, 규칙 기반 시스템으로 이를 보충하였다. 마지막으로 가상점원 모델을 바탕으로 조립 컴퓨터 판매를 위한 가상점원으로 구현하였고, 이에 대한 실험을 통하여 가상점원의 유용성을 보였다.

  • 기존의 다중 코일을 이용한 소형 자성체를 제어하는 시스템에서 전류 벡터 지령은 구동 매트릭스의 pseudo-inverse를 사용하여 계산되었다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 전류 지령에 null space 전류 벡터 지령을 더하는 방법을 이용하여 현재 전류 벡터값과 목표 전류 벡터 지령 사이의 전류 변화량이 최소화 되는 전류 지령 수정 방식을 제안한다. 제한된 전압 정격 내에서 제안된 방식을 적용할 경우 전류 지령 벡터값에 도달하는 시간이 짧아짐으로, 기존 방식에 비해 빠른 반응성을 얻을 수 있다. 제안된 방법은 Matlab(R) Simulink(R)를 통해 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 우선 단말기에서 이미지 및 폰트를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 비트맵 처리 기법을 제안하고 이를 이용한 이미지 및 폰트 처리 시스템을 소개 하고자 한다. 초기에는 컴퓨터 상에 문자를 표현하기 위하여 아스키코드가 개발되었고 이에 표현하지 못하는 부분을 더하고자 유니코드가 개발되어 사용하고 있으나 코드에 대한 표준화 작업은 지금도 계속 되고 있다. 이러한 아스키코드와 유니코드를 무선 단말기상에 적용하고자 하는 시도는 많이 했지만 시간과 노력이 많이 요구되는 비효율적인 잔업이 계속 되어 온 것도 사실이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 채결하고자 아스키코드 및 유니코드를 무선 단말기에 적용시키는 일련의 과정을 단축하고 능률적인 처리시스템을 소개하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 이미지 및 폰트 처리의 불필요한 작업을 단축하여 최소 비용의 처리 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

SNPAnalyzer: web-based workbench for the SNPs analysis

  • Summary: The analysis of human genetic variation is one of the key issues far the understanding of the different drug response among individuals and many programs are developed for this purpose. However, current publicly available programs have so many limitations such as time complexity problem for the analysis of large amount of alleles or SNPs, difficult manipulation for installation, data import, and usage, and low-quality visual output. Here we present workbench for SNP anlaysis, SNPAnalyzer. SNPAnalyzer consists of 3 main modules: 1)Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium ,2) Haplotype Estimation, and 3) Linkage Disequilibrium. Each module has several different widely-used algorithms for the extensive analysis and can handle large amount of alleles and SNPs with simple format. Analysis results are displayed in user-friendly formats such as table, graph and map. SNPAnalyzer is developed using C and C$^{++}$ and users can easily access through web-interftce.   • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted an increasing attention due to their superior mechanical properties and potential application in industries. The strength of CNT has been predicted or calculated through several simulation techniques but actual experiments on stress-strain behavior are rare due to its dimensional limit, nanoscale positioning/manipulation, and instrumental resolution. We have attempted to observe straining responses of a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) with different growth methods by performing an in-situ tensile testing in a scanning electron microscope. Linear deformation and fracture behaviors of MWNT were successfully observed and its force-displacement curve was also measured from the bending stiffness and displacement of the force sensor and manipulator. We also obtained different tensile load of carbon nanotube with different growth methods.

급속 조형을 위한 STEP파일의 다이렉트 슬라이싱에 관한 연구

  • STEP is a neutral model for exchanging CAD modelbetween different CAD systms. The paper presents a laser path contour generation for rapid prototyping originated form STEP format files without using any tools nor libraries for STEP data manipulation. Polygons are generated from every point on the layer of given thickness, which are the intersections of layer plane and edges stored in entity tables. Curves are approximated with polygons whitin segment tolerance limit in order to cover sculptured surfaces. With the advantage of less data loss in direct slicing over STL formats, the system developed in this work shows a good potential to provide data share with various CAD systems including RP data preparation.

Crop improvement the biotechnology option

  • Plant biotechnology involving genetic modification has been rather controversial. However, the major issues related to safety are being addressed by continued improvements in technology. Some of the related facts will be highlighted to set the tone for a scientific discussion on the possibilities of using the technology for crop improvement. Our main research interest is to understand the molecular regulation of shoot bud regeneration in plant tissue culture, which is essential for crop improvement by biotechnology. We have isolated and characterized some genes that are associated with adventitious shoot regeneration. These include a MADS-box cDNA (PkMADS1) from paulownia kawakamii, which regulates vegetative shoot development and in vitro shoot regeneration from leaf explants. Another gene we have characterized from petunia codesfor a cytokinin binding protein (PETCBP). Preliminary functional analysis of this gene indicated that this also affects adventitious shoot bud initiation. Also, the antisense suppression of this gene in petunia causedexcessive branching. Results from our work and selected other publications will be used to highlight the possibilities of manipulation of such genes to improve crop species.
