In Korea, recently, efforts have been made to introduce BIM(Building Information Modeling) to housing complex projects. However, there have been several problems including excessive competition for building design and outcome-oriented evaluation due to a lack of clear evaluation criteria and poorly organized management process. Under this circumstance, the study surveyed opinions of project managers and conducted a pilot test to improve evaluation criteria of BIM-based design for housing complexes. The objective is to assess the level of BIM technology and its applicability, and to propose a list of reasonable evaluation criteria for better project management. First, the study examined the current condition of evaluation on the BIM-based housing complexes, and identified 15 preliminary items that might be suitable for application of BIM. Second, the study conducted a pilot test for the 15 items to determine their suitability for the level of BIM technology, clarity of the calculation process, and the extent of fulfilling information quality, and short-listed eight items for application of BIM. In particular, in the design concept stage, mostly 3D visual images and area-related items are suitable for BIM-based evaluation. Accordingly, formerly used items such as project cost, energy and environmental analysis, building structure, and facilities were deemed more relevant to the subsequent stages of basic design and its implementation.

This study presented the development of a user centered school facility fire safety evaluation model that would support fire safety evaluation, which is globally recognized as being important in terms of school safety, to be more efficiently implemented in the school field mainly by students. The study consisted of five steps. First, actual condition survey tools were developed based on the major fire safety evaluation items derived through literature review. Second, the characteristics of domestic school facilities in terms of fire safety were developed using the survey tools. Third, an evaluation model at a level utilizable by students was developed based on the foregoing characteristics. Fourth, the applicability of the model was verified through a trial application of the model to elementary school students. Finally, legal and institutional improvement plans and fire safety education materials were presented through a policy proposal.

Development of index for evaluation of environmental nature and its application for the purpose of construction of industrial complex with environmentally friendly. Industrial complex comes to be recognized as a disgusting zone according to the increasing environment consciousness of residents. And the objection about the exploitation of geographically unwanted land site is increased during development process and it is possible to cause Nimby phenomenon. Therefore, ecology and environment-oriented strategies tends to be adopted for industrial complex development. Furthermore, the maximization of profit mainly directed by enterprises as of today cannot guarantee its future and the efforts of adopting environmental constancy and harmony as a new objective are made progressively. For the development of city and region, in particular such as residence complex, farming and special city, the discussion of environmental consistency, new paradigm with environmentally friendly is briskly under progress, but the relevant discussion for the development of industrial estate is not done so much. Just only few studies are realized from the viewpoint of industrial ecology but its level remains in the understanding of the concepts and presentation of development direction. This study is to prepare for the foundation of the construction of industrial estate with environmentally friendly under the current condition of Korea against coming future environment era and to try to develop of evaluation range and index which are the basis of evaluation of environment. I applied the above evaluation index to the residents of actual industrial estate to understand their consciousness of decreased environment. And I obtained 7 evaluation ranges and 37 evaluation indexes for the relevant residents. Among them, I get the value less than the average in 19 index items. And they represent very sensible reaction about environment pollution including decrease of waste materials. This study has several limits but is meaningful in that the development of evaluation index for environmental nature in industrial complex is done, and that the basic discussion of the plan and design for environmentally friendly industrial estate is made under the above evaluation and that 37 evaluation items are applied to the reality.
This study aims to improve the uniform functionality of the workers who work in Electric Technology Division, Korea Railroad Corporation. Former study of questionnaire survey was taken to examine the current state of wearing working clothes for the workers. Based on the results of the former study, an experimental clothes, the functionality of which has improved in terms of design, materials, and patterns, was created, and existing working clothes and the treated experimental clothes were compared through simulation wearing evaluation comprising appearance, activity adaptability, quantitativeness, and on-site adaptability evaluation comprising appearance and activity adaptability. The followings are the results of the study: Simulation wearing evaluation is composed of 5subjects and 11experts specializing in costume, and as a result of evaluation the experimental clothes were evaluated superior to the existing working clothes in all items. On-site adaptability evaluation was conducted by workers in the Electric Technology Division, who are the subjects in this study. In that evaluation, the experimental clothes were also evaluated superior to the existing working clothes in all items. While the five subjects who participated in the simulation wearing evaluation move, the quantitative evaluation measured the distance of location transfer of the back length in the jacket and the distance of location transfer of the back waist in the trousers. As the distances in the experimental clothes were measured shorter than the distances in the existing working clothes, the subjective evaluation results are objectively supported.

Static Characteristics of the system, such as weight, center of gravity etc., are inspected and regulated through the whole design process of a light weight torpedo system, and the nominal condition of the characteristics is prescribed for standardization of manufacturing and fabrication. It is possible that a real system or assembled system has different static characteristics from that of the nominal condition. It is required to evaluate the tolerance of the static characteristics within which the performance of the system should not be contaminated by the static characteristics. In this paper, an evaluation method of the tolerance is described for light weight torpedo systems. The method is to check on the performance and related critical parameters of light weight torpedoes. The checking items are composed of general conditions of underwater mobile systems such as stability and dynamic sensitivity and specified performance requirements for light weight torpedoes.

In this study we had chosen the examples of the development projects, so that examined about the process of the landscape impact assessment and the detail evaluation items. Especially the part of the leisure facilities and the landscape aspects among the evaluation items were reviewed whether followed the process of environment impact assessment or not, whether the impact estimate, and depreciation scheme according to the present condition and enforcement of the actual development projects perform reasonably or not. From the study, derived the improvement on the landscape impact evaluation using with 3D Simulation method is expected to contribute to the valid landscape impact assessment and the reasonable alternative proposal.

The study is a Post-Occupancy-Evaluation on newly constructed steel framed school buildings sponsored by POSCO, and presents alternative tactics for planning and programming for the kind of project. The schools in concern are Seowha Primary School(Incheon city) and Galma Primary School(Daejeon city) which were completed in February 1999 and since occupied. The POE-2000 study results had to be compared to the POE-1999 which dealt on Jigog Primary School(Pohang city) and Iwol Primary School(Jincheon township) to develop an improved project tactics. In this reason we had to use the same questionnaire forms envisaged by the former study, ie. POE-1999. To begin with the same study format, it might be appropriate to differentiate whether a 'satisfaction' comes from the 'steel framed construction' or from the 'newly built environment'. However it was difficult with the POE-1999. As the intention to compare the 4 school building were the firstly achieved objective of this study that we had to continue to apply the same format and the analysis procedure. Except this condition, everything the POE-1999 conducted were valuable to this POE-2000. The satisfaction survey form includes 36 questions for individual items and 2 questions for general items.

The purpose of this study is to survey the importance of items for the physiological and pathological symptoms for estimating a health condition according to Sasang constitution to establish the SHI(Sasangin Health Index) which will reflect the concept of inherent vitality. We surveyed expert opinion with questionnaires from 20 Sasang constitution specialists. The questionnaire was composed of 57 items on physiological and pathological symptoms and specialist opinions. Each item was marked from A to E according to importance in evaluating health state in each constitution, and if the mean score of an item was over 3.0, the item was regarded as important. Important indexes among physiological symptoms were diet, digestion condition, perspiration condition, frequency of defecation, heat and cold response, and temperature of drinking water in Soeumin, pathologic perspiration and defecation condition in Soyangin, repast, perspiration condition, and the amount of drinking water in Taeeumin, and urination frequency in Taeyangin. Important indexes among pathological symptoms were sighing, indigestion, and abdominal pain in Soeumin, oral condition, chest distress, brash, and amnesia in Soyangin, eye condition, palpitation, and edema in Taeeumin, and vomiting and incapacity of the lower limbs in Taeyangin. There are different health evaluating index and priority order in it according to Sasang constitution.

Post Occupancy Evaluation(POE) has a good role to improve or adapt the design items through the survey or interview of the resident. Among buildings, the university dormitory provides the living function to support the study in the university. Therefore, it needs to find the design elements and improve the living and study condition for residents. In this paper. it aimed at conducting the POE in university women dormitory for women and providing the building and design items for the next improvement. In addition, it aimed at analyzing the relation between the building satisfaction and the affecting factors, dividing the building into 8 spatial area such as room, entrance area, toilet and etc.. For these, data are surveyed the women dormitory located in the north area of Kyungsangbuk-Do and collected the 683 samples. This study shows some results ; First, the resident evaluates living condition of the dormitory room is a little good. Second, the freshman has a good score more than any other grade, which probably affect the period of the experience and exposure in university. In addition, residents get affect from the finishings, furniture and inconvenience. Third, the resident evaluates living condition of the dormitory room is a little good. Fourth, the satisfaction degree is affected by each size more than any other components in 8 spatial areas. Especially, the number of laundry machine is important factor for satisfaction. Second, the overall satisfaction is affected by room size higher than any other factors.

This study was conducted to develop the health evaluation indicator of pond wetland in order to enhance the quality of eco-experience in rural area. The methods for development of evaluation indicator were consisted of 3 stages; 1st, the precedent assessment protocol was applied to 10 pond wetlands in farm villages, and eco-experience expert survey was conducted to selection the evaluation item and criteria at 2nd and 3rd stages. In the results of applying the precedent assessment protocol, we found out two problems; 1) the evaluation result of value determination and conservation value were too simple, and 2) the score by evaluation items were nearly the same, because evaluation criteria in not precisely for application in rural area. These results were reflected to expert survey. According to the 1st survey results, they suggested that 4 items should be maintained, and 3 items should be deleted, and 2 items should be modified among a total of 9 times. Therefore, it was modified into the evaluation protocol having a total of 8 items. According to the 2nd survey results, the selected evaluation items were generally proper. With regard to items for assessing the health condition of pond wetland, we selected a total of 8 items; (1) Connectivity to forest, (2) Connectivity between water body and wetland connection, (3) Number of Vegetation, (4) Surround land use, (5) Interspersion of Vegetation, (6) Crossing Structure, (7) Wetland size, and (8) Outlet structure. In addition, it was suggested that accessibility, visibility, and trash were need for utilization of pond wetland as a place for eco-experience. It is expected that the selected evaluation indicator can help to utilize the pond wetland as an eco-experience space in rural area, and maintain the pond wetland as a space for conservation of biodiversity.
