  • A vibration monitoring system for a small size wind turbine (WIT) is established and operated. The monitoring system consists of monolithic integrated chip accelerometer for vibration monitoring, anemometers for wind data acquisition and auxiliary sensors for atmospheric data. Using the monitoring system, vibration response of a 6kW stand alone WIT generator is investigated. Acceleration data of the WIT tower under various operation condition is acquired in real time using LabVIEW and the data are remotely transferred from the test site to the laboratory in school by internet. Vibration response characteristics of the tower structure are diagnosed in the aspect of stability of W/T. Wind data and electrical power performance are also investigated with the stability problem.

  • In this paper, the web-based monitoring system is developed for the effective process monitoring of mold manufacturing using web. In developed system, the cutting force for monitoring the manufacturing condition is measured using hall-sensor that is low cost and useful to be installed in a machine tool indirectly. Specially, the current of main spindle in a machine tool is converted into cutting force by various experiments. For effective web-based monitoring, the program which runs in the local computer of client is made to exchange message between a server and a client by making of ActiveX control and the result of manufacturing is shown on web-browser by Ch language. The developed system in this study is the foundation of establishing E-manufacturing in mold factory.

  • Renewable energy sources such as wind energy is copiously available without any limitation. Wind turbines are used to tap the potential of wind energy which is available in millions of megawatt. Reliability of wind turbine is critical to extract this maximum amount of energy from the wind. We reviewed different techniques, methodologies, and algorithms developed to monitor the performance of wind turbine as well as for an early fault detection to keep away the wind turbines from catastrophic conditions due to sudden breakdowns. To keep the wind turbine in operation, implementation of Condition Monitoring System (CMS) is paramount, and for this purpose ample knowledge of these types of system is mandatory. So, an attempt has been made in this direction to review maximum approaches related to CMS in this piece of writing.

  • 본 연구에서는 기기의 감시 및 분석을 위해 필요한 데이터 획득 시스템의 개발에 관해 논의한다 선박에서의 회전기기 및 운전기기의 운전상태 감시와 분석을 위해서는 시스템에 적합한 데이터 획득시스템을 구축하여야 하고 이러한 데이터 획득 시스템을 간단하고 경제적으로 구성하는 것은 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 아울러 사용 환경 혹은 사용자 인터페이스를 사용자의 의도에 따라 손쉽게 변경할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 데이터 획득 시스템을 구성하기 위한 기본적인 요소들에 대해 살펴보고, 일정시간 동안 자동적으로 데이터를 저장하는 방법과 네트웍을 통해 데이터를 획득하는 시스템 구성에 관해 논의한다. 최종적으로 실제 계측을 통해 구성된 데이터획득 시스템이 유용성을 확인한다.

An integrated monitoring system for life-cycle management of wind turbines

  • With an annual growth rate of about 30%, wind energy systems, such as wind turbines, represent one of the fastest growing renewable energy technologies. Continuous structural health monitoring of wind turbines can help improving structural reliability and facilitating optimal decisions with respect to maintenance and operation at minimum associated life-cycle costs. This paper presents an integrated monitoring system that is designed to support structural assessment and life-cycle management of wind turbines. The monitoring system systematically integrates a wide variety of hardware and software modules, including sensors and computer systems for automated data acquisition, data analysis and data archival, a multiagent-based system for self-diagnosis of sensor malfunctions, a model updating and damage detection framework for structural assessment, and a management module for monitoring the structural condition and the operational efficiency of the wind turbine. The monitoring system has been installed on a 500 kW wind turbine located in Germany. Since its initial deployment in 2009, the system automatically collects and processes structural, environmental, and operational wind turbine data. The results demonstrate the potential of the proposed approach not only to ensure continuous safety of the structures, but also to enable cost-efficient maintenance and operation of wind turbines.

  • In this paper, in order to reduce the electrical disaster such as electrical fire at traditional markets, we need to develop the ESMS(electrical safety monitoring system) which is able to monitor the power status of electrical equipments. Therefore, for solving the those problems, we developed the detection censor(ZCT, CT) and equipment of data analysis and transmission. The detection censor and equipment are able to monitor the electrical equipments condition(over current, leakage current, arc, etc.). We constructed Test-Bed for testing reliability of the ESMS and obtained certification. And we tested the over current, leakage current and arc under the normal condition.

  • Main Spindle System has effect on performance of machine tools and working quality as well as is required of high reliability. Especially, it takes great importance in producing automobiles which includes a large number of working processes. However, main spindle unit in Machine tools are often cases where damage occurs do not meet the design life due to driving in harsh environments. This is when excessive maintenance and repair of machine tools or for damage stability has resulted in huge economic losses. Therefore, this studying propose a method of accelerated life test for diagnosing and prognosis the state of life assessment main spindle system. Time status monitoring of diagnostic data - through the analysis of the frequency band signals were carried out inside the main spindle bearing condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.

재래시장 전기재해 감소를 위한 실시간 확인이 가능한 분전반 개발 (Development of the Cabinet Panel of Real-Time Availability Checks for Electrical Disaster Decreasing at Traditional Markets)

  • In this paper, in order to reduce the electrical disaster damage which is caused by with electrical equipment of traditional markets, we developed the cabinet panel and the electrical safety monitoring system which is able to monitor the electrical equipments condition(over current, leakage current, arc, WH, electrical fire factor etc.) at traditional markets. We constructed Test-bed for testing reliability of electrical safety monitoring system and cabinet panel. And we tested the cabinet for over current, leakage current and arc under the traditional markets actual condition. This paper will be used with the data for an demonstration project after compensating the defects which are occurred to operation of traditional markets actual loads.

섀시 전자제어 시스템의 효과적인 교육을 위한 능동형 시뮬레이터의 개발 (A Development of Effective Educational Simulator for Electronic Control System of Automobile Chassis)

  • 본 연구에서는 이 분야의 효과적인 공학기술교육을 위하여 능동형 교육용 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템은 주행조건 제어 및 모니터링 시스템, 섀시 전자제어 시스템 모니터링 및 분석시스템, 가상 시뮬레이터 및 교육용 콘텐츠로 구성되어 있다. 여기서 주행조건 제어 및 모니터링 시스템은 다시 실차 시뮬레이터와 유압장비 및 원격제어 및 모니터링 시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 섀시 전자제어 시스템 모니터링 및 분석 시스템에서는 Labview 프로그램을 통하여 각종 센서와 액추에이터들의 동작상태를 모니터링 할 수 있도록 하였다. 그리고 가상 시뮬레이터 및 교육용 콘텐츠는 2D 플래시 및 3D 애니메이션으로 효과적인 교육의 멀티미디어 교육 자료를 제공하여 준다. 이러한 시스템은 교육용 뿐만 아니라 관련 분야 시스템의 모듈 연구 개발 시 성능 분석 장비로써의 활용도 가능할 것이다.

  • Condition monitoring(CM) is a method based on Non-destructive test(NDT). Therefore, recently many kind of NDT were applied for CM. Acoustic emission(AE) is widely used for the early detection of faults in rotating machinery in these days also. Because its sensitivity is higher than normal accelerometers and it can detect low energy vibration signals. A machine tool consist of many parts such as the bearings, gears, process tools, shaft, hydro-system, and so on. Condition of Every part is connected with product quality finally. To increase the quality of products, condition monitoring of the components of machine tool is done completely. Therefore, in this paper, acoustic emission method is used to detect a machine fault seeded in a gearbox. The AE signals is saved, and power spectrums and feature values, peak value, mean value, RMS, skewness, kurtosis and shape factor, were determined through Matlab.
