산업체 열병합발전시스템에서 최적운전계획 수립을 위한 진화 알고리즘을 이용한 GUI System 개발 (A Development of GUI System for Optimal Operational Scheduling on Industrial Cogeneration Systems Using Evolutionary Algorithms)

  • This paper describes a strategy of a daily optimal operational scheduling on the industrial cogeneration system. The cogeneration system selected to establish the scheduling consists of three units and several auxiliary devices which include three auxiliary boilers, t재 waste boilers and three sludge incinerators. One unit generated electrical and thermal energy using the back pressure turbine. The other two units generate the energy using the extraction condensing turbine. Three auxiliary devices operate to supply energy to the loads with three units. The cogeneration system is able to supply enough the thermal energy to the thermal load, however it can not sufficiently supply the electric energy to the electrical load. Therefore the insufficient electric energy is compensated by buying electrical energy from utility. In this paper, the evolutionary algorithms was applied to establish the optimal scheduling for the cogeneration systems. Also the GUI System was developed using established mathematics medeling and evolutionary algorithms in order that non-experts are able to establish operational scheduling. This results revel that the proposed modeling and strategy can be effectively applied to cogeneration system for paper mill.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the cooling performance of single and cascade refrigeration systems using thermoelectric modules. The system consists of a heat sink, fan, and thermoelectric module. The operating parameters considered in this study include power distribution between the first- and second-stage thermoelectric modules, air flow, and variable condensing unit. The cooling capacity increased with decreases in the temperature difference between hot and cold surfaces, but decreased with increases in the condensing temperature. The COP decreased with increasing electric power of the thermoelectric module because of the increased Joule heat. The cooling performance improvement using the thermoelectric module is represented by the freezer temperature.

  • 해수 히트펌프를 이용한 냉동법 담수화시스템의 개발을 위한 시스템 설계 및 성능 해석을 수행하였다. 해수 히트펌프시스템의 열역학적 모델은 냉동사이클을 이용하였고, 이를 해수 담수화시스템에 적용하였다. 응축기의 유입 해수온도 및 증발기의 얼음 생성 비율에 따른 해수 히트펌프 시스템의 성능을 분석하고, 이에 따른 담수 생산량 및 담수 1kg 생산에 대한 소요 에너지 등 냉동법 담수화 시스템의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 압축기 소요동력 및 응축기 용량은 응축기로 유입되는 해수온도가 감소함에 따라 감소하였다. 담수 1kg 생산에 따른 소요 에너지는 응축기 유입 해수온도가 $8^{\circ}C$일 때가 $20^{\circ}C$일 때에 비해 약28.9% 감소하였다.

System Performance with Variation of Outdoor Unit Layouts at Building Re-entrants

  • Air-cooled split-type air conditioners (AC) are very popular in high-rise residential and commercial buildings in Korea. The performance of such AC systems varies significantly with system characteristics and environmental conditions. Particularly, the outdoor condensing unit of the system, if poorly cooled due to high density of AC distribution and restricted outdoor space, will result in large decrease of cooling efficiency and increase of electrical energy consumption and may further jeopardize the system reliability. This paper presents a numerical analysis on the thermal and energy performance of a group of air-cooled air conditioners installed at a courtyard of a high-rise building. The study introduces a series of new energy performance indices to assess the group performance of the AC condensers with different outdoor unit layouts. The results not only indicate the COP of the systems, but also quantify the system capacity and energy consumption. The evaluation method and indices developed are useful for guiding the design of the distribution plan of the AC units at building re-entrants.

  • 해양플랜트용 HVAC(Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) 시스템의 컨덴싱 유닛(condensing unit)의 경우, DX(Direct Expansion) 코일보다는 온도 안정성이 뛰어난 칠러 시스템(chiller system)을 주로 사용하고 있다. 칠러시스템의 구성품 중 대형 냉매압축기와 전자식 팽창밸브 등은 대부분 수입되고 있다. 이에 칠러 시스템의 크기는 국내에서 제작되는 열교환기(증발기, 응축기)에 의해 좌우된다. 현재 갈수록 심화되고 있는 사용공간의 제한으로 인해 선주사 및 조선소에서는 장비 크기를 컴팩트하게 해줄 것을 메이커에 지속적으로 요구하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 해양플랜트에서 만액식(flooded) 칠러 시스템의 증발기로 주로 사용되고 있는 쉘-튜브형 열교환기를 컴팩트한 플레이트-쉘 열교환기로 대체하기 위한 주요개발과정을 소개하고, 이와 함께 개발된 플레이트-쉘 열교환기를 실제 증발기로 적용한 만액식 칠러 시스템을 제작하여 그 성능을 실험적으로 평가하였으며 그 결과를 제공하고자 한다.

Auxiliary devices operate to supplement the thermal energy to the thermal load with three units. The cogeneration system has a large capacity which is able to supply enough the thermal energy to the thermal load, however the electric power generated is insufficient to satisfy the electrical load. Therefore the insufficient electric energy is supplemented by buying electrical energy from the utility. Simulation was carried out using optimization toolbox. The result reveals that the proposed modeling and strategy can be effectively applied to cogeneration systems with each other generation mode.

대체냉매를 사용한 이원냉동 시스템의 성능에 관한 연구 (Study on the Performance of the Cascade System Using Alternative Refrigerants)

  • The present study investigated the effect of key parameters on the performance of a cascade system using R-22 and R-23 refrigerants. Experimental data for the cascade system have been compared with simulation results using thermodynamic analysis. The cascade system tested at the evaporating temperature of $-80^{\circ}C $ and the condensing temperature of$40^{\circ}C $. The key experimental parameters were the evaporating temperature of the HTC(-35, -30, -25, -20, $-15^{\circ}C $) and mass flux of the HTC(200, 250, 300kg/$m^2$s). As the evaporating temperature and the mass flux of the HTC were increased respectively, the COP and the refrigerating efficiency were increased and then decreased while the volume flow rate per unit refrigeration capacity showed the opposite trend. The maximum COP and refrigerating efficiency were obtained at the evaporating temperature of the HTC of $-25^{\circ}C $ and the mass flux of 250 kg/$m^2$s.

A photoswitch from conjugative aromatic polymers

  • By condensing two different functional monomers, highly fluorescent aromatic polymers were prepared to produce a conjugated- conjugated spacer-type copolymer or conjugated-non-conjugated spacer-type copolymer. As synthesized polymers were soluble in an organic solvent and showed significantly enhanced optical properties compared to its monomer. Variation in the monomer composition afforded polymers having multifunctionaility such as photochromic-fluorescent polymers. Transparent thin films of the polymer as a solid medium were prepared using spin coating method and fabricated as a photoswitch, which showed photo-induced conductivity switching properties depending on the core monomeric unit in the polymers.

  • Fresnel lens has number of applications in the optical systems because of its advantages. It is nearly flat lens that has small weight. It is conventionally used in lighthouse beacons, condensing unit of overhead projector and etc. Recently, demands of small size optical systems such as display units, information storage systems, optical detecting units had increased. Conventional manufacturing process of high quality Fresnel lens is direct machining. But it is not suitable for mass production because of high cost and long cycle time. Replication process is more suitable for mass production. But the Fresnel lens has number of sharp blade shape prism. In the replication process, this blade shape causes defects that can affect optical efficiency. In this study, replication process of blade shape pattern that has maximum height of $280{\mu}m$, aspect ratio 1.4 for Fresnel lens application.
