Pulmonary sequestration is an uncommon congenital pulmonary malformations characterized by presence of nonfunctioning lung tissue which receives its blood supply mostly from the anomalous systemic arteries. We have experienced a 30 year old male patient with a mediastinal mass complaining of intermittent chest pain, and the mass was histologically confirmed as extralobar pulmonary sequestration. The anomalous blood supply origined from the right pulmonary artery but there was no communication with the tracheobronchial tree. He underwent operation through midsternotomy incision for the purpose of concurrent resection of enlarged thymus noted on chest CT.
Eight patients underwent tracheal resection and reconstruction for tracheostomy and postintubation injuries from 1971 to early 1981. The ages ranged from 12 years to 59 years. The patients had 7-cuff stenosis and one stomal lesion in whom intubated long. Four male and four female patients were treated. Cervical approach was used in one, cervicomediastinal in 3 and transthoracic in four. The longest length of resection extended to 4 cm in whom cervico-upper half mediastinal incision and neck flexion were applied. Techniques for obtaining tension-free anastomosis included cervical flexion or division of the inferior pulmonary ligament and mobilization of the right hilum. Concurrent tracheostomy was not needed in all. There was one death at the end of emergency operation from anesthetic accident. Granulations at the anastomosis line, necessitating bronchoscopy, were noted in two and the lesion did not recurred after removal. No restenosis or other complications occurred during long follow-up.

This paper describes the method of detecting the region of vehicle number plate in colored car image with number plate. Vehicle number plate region generally shows formula colors in accordance with type of car. According to this, we use the method to combine a color ingredient H of HSI color model and a color ingredient Q of YIQ color model. However, the defect which a total operation time takes much exists if it uses such method. Therefore, in this paper, the concurrent accomplishes a candidate area extraction operation as draw a color H and Q ingredient among steps of extracting a region of vehicle number Plate. After the above step, as a next step in combination with color H and Q we can accomplish an region extraction fast by comparing to candidate regions extracted from each steps not to do a comparison operation to all of image pixel information. We also show implementation results Processed at each steps and compare with extraction time according to image resolutions.
This paper describes a lightweight implementation of a cryptographic processor supporting GCM (Galois/Counter Mode) authenticated encryption (AE) that is based on the two block cipher algorithms of ARIA and AES. It also provides five modes of operation (ECB, CBC, OFB, CFB, CTR) for confidentiality as well as the key lengths of 128-bit and 256-bit. The ARIA and AES are integrated into a single hardware structure, which is based on their algorithm characteristics, and a $128{\times}12-b$ partially parallel GF (Galois field) multiplier is adopted to efficiently perform concurrent processing of CTR encryption and GHASH operation to achieve overall performance optimization. The hardware operation of the ARIA/AES-GCM AE processor was verified by FPGA implementation, and it occupied 60,800 gate equivalents (GEs) with a 180 nm CMOS cell library. The estimated throughput with the maximum clock frequency of 95 MHz are 1,105 Mbps and 810 Mbps in AES mode, 935 Mbps and 715 Mbps in ARIA mode, and 138~184 Mbps in GCM AE mode according to the key length.

This research carried out a study on the job characteristics of the skipper of the coastal composite fishing vessels in order to find a way to prevent the ship collision caused by the highest human error among the marine casualty of fishing boats. Video observation was used as the research method in which six CCD cameras were installed on the vessel to collect image data and data extracted from the image were analyzed to derive the results of the functional activity of skipper according to the fishing operation process of experimental fishing vessel. The results are as follows. The working process of the experimental fishing vessel consisted of navigation for fishing ground, setting line, waiting for hauling line, hauling line and navigation to homeport. In these processes, the skipper was performing watchkeeping in the wheelhouse in which he carried out a single task, a dual task that performed two tasks simultaneously, and a triple task that performed two or more tasks simultaneously. In addition, one of the risk factors causing the collision was a no watchkeeping in the wheelhouse for navigating for fishing ground, waiting for hauling line, and hauling line at 25.4%, 64.6% and 0.3%, respectively among the marine casualty while drowsiness caused 1.2% of the marine casualty in navigating for fishing ground. Concurrent tasks that simultaneously perform two or more tasks that can overlook any other important duties while carrying out watchkeeping in the wheelhouse include 51.3% of navigation for fishing ground, 81.9% of setting line, 19.0% of waiting for hauling line, 87.9% of hauling, and 88.7% of navigation to homeport. The above concurrent tasks yielded an average of 66.1%. Experimental fishing vessels are required to focus on ship handling operations related to fishery operations, and the skipper is assigned more activities and attention to fishery related tasks. Therefore, it is considered desirable to build a collision prevention system that is appropriate to the characteristics of the skipper's work, escaping from transferring the responsibility of ship collision to the skipper completely.
Message races should be detected for debugging effectively message-passing programs because they can cause non-deterministic executions of a program. Previous tools for detecting message races report that message races occur in every receive operation which is expected to receive any messages. However message races might not occur in the receive operation if each of messages is transmitted through a different logical communication channel so that their incorrect detection makes it a difficult task for programmers to debug programs. In this paper we suggest a tool, MPIRace-Check, which can exactly detect message races by checking the concurrency between send/receive operations, and by inspecting the logical communication channels of the messages. To detect message races, this tool uses the vector timestamp to check if send and receive operations are concurrent during an execution of a program and it also uses the message envelop to inspect if the logical communication channels of transmitted messages are the same. In our experiment, we show that our tool can exactly detect message races with efficiency using MPI_RTED and a benchmark program. By detecting message races exactly, therefore, our tool enables programmers to develop reliable parallel programs reducing the burden of debugging.

In this paper, the method which improves the performance of a serial decimal multiplier, and the method which operates multiple-digit simultaneously are proposed. The proposed serial decimal multiplier reduces the delay by removing encoding module that generates 2X, 4X multiples, and by generating partial product using shift operation. Also, this multiplier reduces the number of operations using multiple-digit operation. In order to estimate the performance of the proposed multiplier, we synthesized the proposed multiplier with design compiler with SMIC 110nm CMOS library. Synthesis results show that the area of the proposed serial decimal multiplier is increased by 4%, but the delay is reduced by 5% compared to existing serial decimal multiplier. In addition, the trade off between area and latency with respect to the number of concurrent operations in the proposed multiple-digit multiplier is confirmed.
Recently, most corporations in Korea need to construct new management system for overcoming economic crisis. Firstly, this paper suggests “Value Creation system”. Secondly, this paper suggests CALS as strategic substitute to achieve market efficiency, capital efficiency, personal efficiency, and operation efficiency, which are four critical factors of “Value Creation system”. Korean corporations should build new business model founded on cooperation by completing CALS system and reconstruct competitive management system by using knowledge and know-how accumulated in that process. Because most corporations keep exclusive corporate culture and little experience of cooperative relationship among businesses, strategic approaches are essential for construction of CALS. These are vertical integration, organization of CALS construction teams, concurrent development of product/process, CEO's iron will, Precise vision and strategies, and education/training of participant.

Many manufacturing companies consider the integrated and concurrent scheduling because they need the global optimization technology that could manufacture various products more responsive to customer needs. In this paper, we propose an advanced scheduling model to generate the schedules considering resource constraints and precedence constraints in make-to-order (MTO) manufacturing environments. Precedence of work- in-process(WIP) and resources constraints have recently emerged as one of the main constraints in advanced scheduling problems. The advanced scheduling problems is formulated as a multiobjective mathematical model for generating operation schedules which are obeyed resources constraints, alternative workstations of operations and the precedence constraints of WIP in MTO manufacturing. For effectively solving the advanced scheduling problem, the multi-objective hybrid genetic algorithm (m-hGA) is proposed in this paper. The m-hGA is to minimize the makespan, total flow time of order, and maximum tardiness for each order, simultaneously. The m-hGA approach with local search-based mutation through swap mutation is developed to solve the advanced scheduling problem. Numerical example is tested and presented for advanced scheduling problems with various orders to describe the performance of the proposed m-hGA.
The influence of process parameters in drawn wire on residual stresses was investigated. Based on a FE-simulation of the wire drawing process, the effects of process parameters such as semi-die angle, reduction, friction coefficient and bearing length on the residual stresses were investigated. The validity of the FE-simulation results was verified by the comparison of the previous simulated results with experimental data. In this study, semi-die angle and die reduction have significant effect on the residual stresses at the surface of drawn wire. Several methods such as, addition of axial tension, application of skin pass, straightening in multi-roll straightener etc, were suggested in the previous studies to reduce the residual stresses. In this study, the results show that the concurrent application of skin pass with low die reduction and low semi-die angle at the final stage of drawing operation reduces dramatically the both axial and hoop residual stresses after drawing
