This paper compares the load transfer efficiency between precast concrete pavement specimen and typical concrete pavement specimen by means of laboratory and field tests. An experimental method was developed to evaluate the load transfer efficiency of the dowel bars buried in the concrete pocket and grouted with cement mortar. The test results showed that the load transfer efficiency of the specimen for the dowel bars repaired with grout was equivalent to that of the control specimen. In addition, a series of FWD field tests were conducted on the precast pavement to evaluate the joint stiffness. The field test results revealed that the central deflection of the precast slab slightly increased but the load transfer efficiencies at the joints were almost the same as those in the typical concrete pavement slab.
This study was performed to investigate the physical characteristics like compressive strength, permeability, porosity and the water quality removal characteristics of permeable concrete pavement filled with microbial-soil sheet to remove SS, organic matter and nutrients in artificial rainfall. As a result, it can show the removal efficiency is SS 90~95%, COD 85~93%, BOD 80~83%, T-N 61~75%, T-P 71~78% on WAPS I(W1) and WAPS II(W2). Therefore, permeable concrete pavement filled with microbial-soil sheet shows higher removal efficiency(SS 10%, organic matter and nutrients 30%) than a conventional porous concrete(W3). By filling microbial-soil sheet to permeable concrete pavement, we confirm that the function and efficiency are improved significantly and that a naturally-friendly facility can be developed and applied to treat non-point sources.
As the weight of trucks increases, the need for concrete pavement also increases. Therefore, the addition of fly-ash may improve the properties of pavement concrete as well as recycle fly-ash. A full factorial experiment was performed using the primary variables, such as water-cement ratio, fly-ash substitution ratio, and maximum size of coarse aggregate, as a preliminary study for optimum mixture design for pavement concrete. The results of preliminary study indicates that the addition of fly-ash is the most important factor determining concrete strength, followed by the maximum size of coarse aggregate and water-cement ratio. It, also, shows the relative importance of fly-ash substitution ratio, compared to the water-cement ratio, and the interaction effects between the primary variables. Optimum mixture designs for pavement concrete incorporating fly-ash, that satisfied the target responses, were proposed in terms of fly-ash substitution ratio, water cement ratio and maximum size of coarse aggregate.

In road pavements, it is known that cement concrete pavement has superior durability, safety in compared with asphalt concrete pavement. But in reparing pavement cement concrete pavement is not usually applied because of the length of time while the road is interrupted when using Ordinary and Rapid-hardening Portland Cement. And Super High Early Strength Cement and Ultra Super High Early Strength Cement are not favorable for ready mixied concrete because of rapid setting time, high slump loss and other restrictions. We aim to develope specific cement and concrete developing 1 day strength of over 300 kg/$cm^{2}$ to open the road within one day and workable time is maintained over 1 hour that can be used as ready mixed concrete. In this study, we Produced cement using rapid-hardening cement, Hauyne clinker, anhydride gypsum and accelerator and studied on its properties. The concrete strength was over 300 kg/$cm^{2}$ at 1 day and 550 kg/$cm^{2}$ at 28 day and workable time was maintained for over 1 hour.

At the present, the mechanized form roads pavement was constructed with plain concrete. Mostly, it was used by welded wire mesh for preventing crack. Cellulose fibers for the reinforcement of concrete offer relatively high levels of elastic modulus, fiber count (per unit weight), specific surface, and bond strength to cement-based materials. The construction of concrete pavement confirmed that cellulose fiber reinforced concrete was applicable to mechanized form roads pavement. In the study, cellulose fibers were used here at 0.08 % volume fraction, which is equivalent to a fiber content of $1.2kg/m^3$. Cellulose fiber reinforced concrete were compared with plain concrete. Field test results indicated that cellulose fiber reinforced concrete showed slightly to increase of 28 days compressive strength and improved the initial strength. it tended to increase of splitting tensile strength. Test results showed that the slump and air content tend to decreased. but, the variation of air contends is very little. Also, construction cost of cellulose fiber reinforced concrete is less than about 25.7 % the case of welded wire mesh previously used. Therefore, The cost reduction is expected to be possible in construction site by mechanized form roads pavement.

More than sixty percentages of the highway constructed by concrete pavements in South Korea and over half of the concrete pavements were twenty years or older. The most of South Korea road is hard to provide a bypass in conditions of network of roads. Asphalt concrete overlay has been used for the overlay of aged concrete pavement. However, the cost of maintenance and rehabilitation in an asphalt overlay is expensive by early damage. Therefore, bonded concrete overlay was recently attempted in South Korea as an alterative method of rehabilitation for aged concrete pavement. Hence, it needed to investigate the factors to find performance of the bonded concrete overlay life. However, there is no performance data of the concrete overlay in South Korea. This study was to make a database of an affecting of the pavement life and draws statistical analysis of the performance data on the LTPP (Long Term Pavement Performance) database of U.S.A.

Nowadays, as the traffic volume is higher, the more pavement are expanded and constructed. In korea, the most of the pavement system were covered with an asphaltic concrete or portland cement concrete, so it need the new system of pavement to protect the natural environments. The objectives of this study are to investigate properties and applications of soilcrete using FGC soil stabilizer and then to evaluate the benefits to be gained by soilcrete pavement, when a pavement system of existing are replaced by soilcrete. for example, environmental advantages, cost savings, ultimately.

The concrete pavement slabs that suffer expansion due to the Alkali-Aggregate Reaction(AAR) increase and the increase consequently causes unexpected displacement of bridge abutment. As the expansion due to the AAR is greater than that due to the temperature change, lethal load can act on bridge abutment. Therefore appropriate preventive measures may be necessary. The degree of expansion by AAR depends on the severity of AAR and geometry condition of concrete pavement and road structure. In order to prevent damage to bridge, it is effective to release the expansion force of the concrete. It would be advantageous to replace the concrete pavement with asphalt for a long section of concrete pavement.

In our standard specification, the specific provision of steel fiber pavement concrete didn't describe yet. The purpose of this study presents criteria of recycled aggregate steel fiber pavement concrete including standard crushed stone steel fiber pavement concrete. This study examined a lot of factors which influence consistency of SFRC(Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete) including crush stone and recycled aggregate. According to this examination, this study decided optimum S/α and W which are essential to pavement concrete mix proportion. Come to the conclusion, this study is expected to effect economically in recycling of resources and bring to affirmative result in aspect of environment.

In this paper, actual bridges constructed with SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) deck pavement and virtual bridges substituted the deck pavement with polymer concrete under the same conditions were statically analyzed to investigate applicability of the thin polymer concrete bridge deck pavements. PSC (prestressed Concrete) girder bridge, steel box girder bridge, PSC box girder bridge, and RC (Reinforced Concrete) rahmen bridge constructed with the SMA deck pavement were analyzed and compared to evaluate various types of the bridge. The bridge deck and pavement were assumed to be fully bonded and the stress and deformation during the construction were ignored while those due to pavement weight and vehicle loading were analyzed. According to the analysis results, the stress and deformation of the bridges using the polymer concrete due to the pavement weight were smaller than those using the SMA because of smaller self weight due to lighter unit weight and thinner thickness of the pavement. The stress and deformation of the bridges using the polymer concrete due to the vehicle loading were larger than those using the SMA because of the smaller area moment of inertia due to the thinner pavement thickness. In case that the pavement weight and vehicle loading applied simultaneously, the stress and deformation of the bridges using the polymer concrete were smaller because effect of self weight reduction was more dominant. Investigation of performance of the bridge deck pavement and analysis of economical efficiency are warranted.
