A concrete-filled tube is a concrete-filled steel tube structure. The steel tube confines the concrete to increase the compressive strength, and the concrete contains the buckling of the tube. CFT structures require a diaphragm to prevent buckling of steel at connections. An outer diaphragm has better concrete filling than a through diaphragm due to a large bore, but being larger than the through diagram, it has poorer constructability and cooperation with building equipment. In this study, a CFT structure that uses different types of diaphragms in its upper and lower connections to improve the concrete filling was tested and analyzed via the FEM program. The building structure had a floor slab that was unified with the upper diaphragm, so the outer diaphragm was placed at the upper bound. Moreover, the through diaphragm was placed at the lower connection to avoid obstruction from building equipment. The CFT structure with the improved concrete filling showed the same structural behavior as the CFT structure with the use of the same type of diaphragms at the upper and lower connections.

This study is performed to examine the flowability and filling ability of steel fiber reinforced high performance concrete. For the estimation of the flowability and filling ability, slump flow, box height difference and L-shape filling appearence are measured and compared. The test result shows that the slump flow is $60{\pm}5cm$ to make no difference with containing steel fiber, box height difference is increased with increasing steel fiber and L-shape filling appearence is to bad with increasing steel fiber. But, proper containg of steel fiber is considered to be applied for high performance concrete without decreasing of slump flow and filling ability.

Instrumentation system in Concrete Face Rockfill Dam(CFRD) can give special attention to the deformation characteristics of the rockfill and behavior of the concrete membrane during construction, reservoir filling and subsequent phase of operation. It also contains data about vertical and transversal compressibility moduli of the rockfill, deflections in the concrete slab, and draws comparisons with other concrete face rockfill dams of recent construction. In this paper, the internal deformation data from D dam monitored by means of hydrostatic settlements cells are analyzed. Observations cover the construction stage, reservoir filling and up to March 1991. The above method can be concluded D dam was well constructed and maintained.

In general, piston pumps are frequently used for concrete pumping. Filling coefficient signifies the ratio volume of a hydraulic cylinder to volume of concrete inside the cylinder. Therefore, it may be considered as a parameter directly affecting the flow rate and efficiency for concrete pumping. However, accurate analyses on this aspect have not yet been performed. In this paper, the data measured from horizontal pipeline pumping tests for 350m and 548m in length was analyzed to identify the relationships of rheological properties of concrete and stroke time with the filling coefficient. In addition, an equation allowing prediction of the filling coefficient from rheological properties of concrete and stroke time has been suggested.
The foam concrete was fabricated by adding the foaming agent which composite ordinary Portland cement with plant and animal protein into cement paste, and the electromagnetic wave absorption properties were studied for the first time as well. The studies showed that the electromagnetic waves can be absorbed by multiple reflections and scattering within the porous material. Thickness and filling ratio have a great influence on the electromagnetic wave absorbing properties in 2-18 GHz of the foam concrete, the greater the thickness, the better the performance of absorption; filling ratio was about 52 vol.%, the absorbing properties achieved the best.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the strength properties of water-permeable concrete with redispersible polymer powder, silica fume and polypropylene fibers. The water-permeable concrete using rediapersibel polymer powder with a water-cement ratio of 25%, polymer-cement ratios of 0 to 10%, silica fume contents of 0 to 10% and fiber contents of 0 to 1.5% are prepared, and tested for flexural strength, compressive strength and water permeability. From the test results, improvements in the strength properties of the water-permeable concrete due to the addition of the redispersible polymer powder, silica fume and fibers are discussed. It is concluded from the test results that the superior flexural and compressive strengths of water-permeable concretes are obtained at a propylene fiber content of 1.0% with a void filling ratio of 50%. And, the water-permeable concrete having a flexural strength of 15.6~28.4kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, a compressive strength of 63.5~120.6kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and a coefficient of permeability of 1.14~1.70cm/s at a void filling ratio of 30% can be prepared. Also water-permeable concrete having a flexural strength of 35.6~57.9kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, a compressive strength of 164.0~290.0kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and a coefficient of permeability of 0.19~1.04cm/s at a void filling ratio of 50% can be prepared in the consideration of the mix proprotioning factors.

This study is performed to examine the engineering properties of polyprofilene fiber reinforced high flowable concrete. For the estimation of the flow ability and filling ability, the slump flow, box height difference and L-shape filling appearence are measured and compared. The test result shows that the slump flow and L-shape filling appearence is decreased with increase containing polyprofilene fiber and box height difference is increased with increase containing polyprofilene fiber. Also, compressive strength is decreased with increase containing polyprofilene fiber.

This study was performed to examine the flowing ability and filling ability of polypropylene fiber reinforced high performance concrete. The slump flow was decreased with increasing the polypropylene fiber content, rapidly. At the box-type filling ability, the difference of box height was increased with increasing the fiber content and the box-type passing ability was closed in fiber content 1 %. The final flowing distance of L-type was decreased with increasing the fiber content. Also, it was decreased above 0.75% of polypropylene fiber content, rapidly. The filling ability of L-type was badly showed above polypropylene fiber content 0.75%. Also, the compressive strength was decreased with increasing the fiber content, but the flexural strength was shown higher than that of the concrete without fiber. At the impact resistance, drop numbers for reaching in final fracture were increased with increasing the fiber content. Also, the drop numbers for reaching initial fracture of 1mm were increased with increasing the fiber content. At the acid resistance, the percent of original mass was decreased with increasing the fiber content.

The Nuclear containment building is a main safety-related structure that performs shielding and conservation functions to prevent highly radioactive materials from leakage to the outside environment in the case of various environmental conditions and postulated accidents. The containment building contains a reactor, steam generator, pressurizer, tank, reactor coolant system, auxiliary system and engineering safety system, and is designed so that highly radioactive materials above the limits specified in 10 CFR 100 do not escape to the outside environment in the case of LOCA(Loss of Coolant Accident) for instance. The containment metal liner plate(CLP) is a carbon steel plate with a nominal plate thickness of 6 mm, which functions as a mold for the wall and dome of the containment building when concrete is filled, fulfills airtightness to prevent leakage of seriously radioactive materials. In recent years, backside corrosion was found on the liner plate in some domestic nuclear power plants. The main cause of backside corrosion was unfilled concrete. In this paper, an inspection technique of assessing filling suitability for CLP backside concrete is developed. Results show that the validity of inspection technique for CLP backside concrete using vibration sensor is successfully verified.
