Material selection is one of the important activities in design and manufacturing. A selected material at the conceptual design stage affects material properties of the designed part as well as manufacturability and cost of the final product. Unfortunately there are not many accessible material databases that can be used for design. In this research, a web-based material database was constructed. In order to assist designers to compare different materials, two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphs were provided. Using these graphical tools, multi-dimensional comparison was available in more intuitive manner. To provide environmental safety of materials, the database included National Fire Protection Association publication Standard No.704. The web-based tool is available at http://fab.snu.ac.kr/matdb.

본 논문에서는 개념 그래프 기반 검색 시스템의 검색의 성능을 개선시키고자 Hits 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 기존 개념 그래프 기반 검색 시스템의 anchor text분석을 통하여 개념을 추출하고 있는 시스템에서 더 나아가 하이퍼 링크의 선호도의 특성을 살려 하이퍼링크에 문서가 얼마나 연결되어 있는지, 참조하고 있는지에 따라 해당 검색된 문서들의 중요도를 찾아서 순위를 매기는 실험을 하였다. 종래에는 해당 검색어의 빈도순으로 개념의 결과를 나타내 주었는데, 본 시스템 구현 후에 랭킹알고리즘을 적용하여 해당검색에 유용한 정보를 가지고 있는 페이지들(authorities)과 유용한 정보를 보유하고 있는 페이지의 링크를 보유하고 있는 페이지들(hubs)를 각각 순위 순으로 보여주게 되었다. 그리하여 사용자는 실제 검색시에 개념상으로 분류된 문서 중에 중요도가 높은 문서를 사용자에게 우선으로 접하게 되었으며, hub어 의해서 중요도가 높은 문서를 한눈에 볼 수도 있을 뿐 아니라, anchor text 어서 나타나지 않은 중요한 정보를 가진 문서도 검색할 수 있었다.

본 연구에서는 온라인 다중 사용자 환경의 eBook annotation 시스템 개발에서 데이터를 의미 기반으로 관리하고, 데이터에 대하여 상호 공통적인 이해를 표현하며, 그리고 데이터에 대한 무결성 검사 등을 지원하기 위해서 eBook annotation 온톨로지를 설계하였다. eBook annotation 데이터에 대한 상호 공통적인 이해의 표현을 위해서 한국 전자책 문서 표준인 EBKS(Electronic Book of Korea Standard)를 기반으로 설계 하였으며 설계 된 온톨로지는 Conceptual Graph(CG)를 사용하여 표현하였다. 의미 기반의 처리를 위해서 본 온톨로지에서는 동의어(synonym) 관계와 다국어(multilingua) 관계를 고려하였으며 또한 annotation 데이터 생성시 오류 방지와 중요도를 표현 하기 위해서 무결성 검사, 중요성 axiom을 고려 했다. 제안된 온톨로지는 annotation 데이터의 재사용성을 높일 수 있고 의미 정보를 활용함으로써 eLearning, cyberclass과 같은 다중사용자 환경에서 효과적인 협업을 가능하게 한다. 본 연구에서 구현한 eBook annotation 시스템은 설계한 온톨로지를 이용함으로써 의미 기반의 데이터 관리가 가능하다. 또한 annotation 생성 시 온톨로지 구조를 모르더라도 annotation을 생성할 수 있는 인터페이스를 구현하였다.

Along with the flourishign development of computational linguistics, research on the meanings of individual words has started to resume. Polyusemous words are especially brought into focus since their multiple senses have placed a real challenge to linguists and computer scientists. This paper mainly concerns the following three questions with regard to the treatments of such polysemous nouns and verbs in English and Korean. Firstly, what types of information should be represented in individual lexical entries for those polysemous words\ulcorner Secondly, how different are corresponding polysemous lexical entries in both languages\ulcorner Thirdly, what does a mental lexicon look like with regard to polysemous lexical entries\ulcorner For the first and second questions, Pustejosky's (1995) Generative Lexicon Theory (hereafter GLT) will be discussed in detail: the main focus falls on developing alternative way of representing (polysemous) lexical entries. For the third question, a brief discussion is made on mapping between concepts and their lexicalizations. Furthermore, a conceptual graph around conept 'bake' is depicted in terms of Sowa(2000)

If a disaster occurs in the underground like subway, disaster response system should minimize the casualties. It must quickly guide passengers to a safe evacuation route. But sometimes the system does not work properly. And then they need distributed disaster response system which make decision autonomously. In this study, we proposed the evacuation route analysis and induction algorithms for creationg passenger evacuation route and offering optimal evacuation route.

Since ventilation in livestock buildings is critical for indoor air quality, the first step in designing environmental control is to determine required ventilation rate. The purpose of the study was to suggest a conceptually new ventilation graph for determining minimum/maximum ventilation rate based on the conservation law of the thermal energy and mass in livestock buildings. PC-based programs coded with PASCAL language, [RVALUE] for overall thermal resistance of composite structural walls/ceilings, [POLYNOM] for coefficients values of animal's sensible heat equation were involved in developing a computer program, [VENTGRPH] for the determination of ventilation rate. It would be useful for design, for such a program would permit the designer to explore various design options and immediately, see the result in terms of its effect on minimum ventilation rates.

Commercial machine translation systems have been announcing recently, However, there are problems that the systems have shown mistranslations, yet. Among these mistranslations, this paper is interested in the mistakes of tense processing. The paper compares Korean tenses with 12 English ones: present. past, future, present perfect. past perfect, future perfect. present progressive, past progressive, future progressive, present perfect progressive, past perfect progressive. future perfect progressive. Next, we perform the meaning analysis of Korean tenses. Then we describe the structure of the tenses based on Conceptual Graph(CG). In the experiment. the paper implements the program that translates sentences included in the tenses into CG.

Seamless data integration in the CAx chain of the CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC has been achieved to a high degree, but research concerning the transfer of data from conceptual sketches to a CAD system should be carried out further. This paper presents a method for reconstructing a 3D model from a freehand sketch. Sketch-based modeling research can be classified into gestural modeling methods and reconstructional modeling methods. This research involves the reconstructional modeling method. Here, Mitani's seminal work, designed for box-shaped 3D model using a predefined template, is improved by leveraging a relational template and specialized for automotive design. Matching between edge graphs of the relational template and the sketch is formulated and solved as the assignment problem using the feature vectors of the edges. Including the stroke preprocessing method required to generate an edge graph from a sketch, necessary procedures and relevant techniques for implementing the template-based modeling method are described. Examples from a working implementation are given.

웹그래프는 웹문서 간의 하이퍼링크를 각 웹문서의 핵심어간의 링크관계로 추상화하대 이 관계를 이용하여 핵심어의 개념 그래프를 구축하고 질의의 확장이나 영역지식을 제공하는 개념 기반 검색이 가능한 검색 시스템이다 본 논문에서는 웹그래프에서 가능했던 질의어에 대한 한 단계의 질의 확장에 그치지 않고. 최초의 질의어와 이후 확장어들에 대한 문맥을 유지하대 추가적인 다단계의 확장이 가능하도록 하는 방법을 계시한다. 검색 시스템 사용자는 최초 질의어가 속하는 해당 분야에 대한 지식이 부족한 경우, 문맥을 유지한 확장을 통하여 자신이 찾고자 하는 바를 명확히 해 나가며 세부 질의를 구축할 수 있고 해당 분야에 대한 지식을 얻는 것이 가능하다
