  • This paper try to provide basic and universal concept of the architectural planning for the barrier-free environment. To accomplish this purpose this study has analyzed inductively the architectural requirements for all kinds of people with disabilities. The Analysis showed a safety, an accessibility and a distinguishment as the concept of architectural planning for the people with disabilities. Based on the findings of the study have been researched the general cases done for the barrier-free architectural environment. As the result, it has been proved that the design concept for the disabled person should be regarded as the basic concept of the general architectural planning.

  • This study is focused on the concept and spatial organization of bifurcation. After discussing the concept of bifurcation used in Borges' literature and Deleuze's Fold philosophy, case examples in contemporary architecture are analysed to comparatively investigate the relationship between the concept and space. In Deleuze's philosophy, bifurcation as well as pleats, inflection are used to form the world of fold that goes to infinity while, in Borges' literature, the structure of bifurcation is the key method to create the labyrinth of time. There are various projects in contemporary architecture based on the Deleuzian concept of bifurcation. Rem Koolhaas's Two Libraries for Jussieu University and UN Studio's Arnhem Central are selected and researched for further comparison study. In Jussieu project, the bifurcating spatial organization is 'intentionally' used to construct the indeterminant space whereas in Arnhem Central, bifurcation can be found in both the ever-bifurcating design process as well as the final spatial organization'unintentionally'generated from the process. This study is concluded with the comparative analysis between the representation and actualization of a concept that are crucially different.

  • This paper describes concept mapping techniques for eliciting and representing knowledge. Concept mapping techniques range from very informal to very formal. Informal concept mapping techniques are usually very easy to use and understand for humans, but not for computers. Formal concept mapping techniques are computational, but humans usually find them hard to understand and use. A knowledge acquisition and representation tools which handle both kinds, and the transition from informal to formal, would be very useful. It is proposed that concept maps be regarded as basic components of any knowledge-based system, complementing text and image with formal and informl active diagrams.

  • This study analyzed the learning components of the web-based adaptive math learning programs in order to develop adaptive math learning program using artificial intelligence. The components of the web-based adaptive math learning program set for analysis are classified into learning process presentation, concept learning, problem presentation, problem solving process, and learning result processing then analyzed three programs. As a result of analysis, the typical characteristic of components is that it uses a method of repeatedly presenting the same type of problem in order to learn one concept.

  • A post-processing program based on the OOP(Object-Oriented Programming) concept has been developed for flow visualization of the flow analysis code(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. User-friendly GUI(GTaphic User Interface) has been built on the base of MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). The program is organized as modules by classes including those based on VTK(Visualization ToolKit)-library, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable OOP concept. The major functions of this post-processor program are introduced and demonstrated, which include mesh plot, contour plot, vector plot, surface plots, cut plot, clip plot, xy-plot and streamline plot as well as view manipulation (translation, rotation, scaling etc).

  • A pre-processing program based on the OOP(object-oriented programming) concept has been developed. The program consists of the input of a 2D or 3D flow problem to a CFD program by means of an user-friendly interface and the subsequent transformation of this input into a form suitable for the solver(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. User-friendly GUI(graphic user interface) has been built on the base of MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). The program is organized as modules by classes based on VTK(Visualization ToolKit)-library, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable concept of object-oriented programming. The major functions of this program are introduced and demonstrated, which include mesh generation, boundary settings, solver settings, generation of grid connectivity and geometric data etc.

  • A physically-based soil-water erosion model with simple hydrology and Rose & Hairsine's erosion concept is described, and was implemented in the form of computer program. The model derived from the concept of stream power(Bagnold, 1977) considers settling velocity characteristics of the soil and distinguishes between the processes of entrainment and re-entrainment. It deals separately with rill flow and sheet flow, handles vegetation in terms of soil contact cover, and has the ability to simulate soil movement on nonuniform slopes. The model predicted sediment concentrations reasonably with the results of Mclsaac et al. (1990). It showed a capability to quantitatively predict the movement of soil on uniform and nonuniform slopes. Among the model parameters, soil depositability $({\phi})$ was the most sensitive from the sensitivity analysis.

  • This paper proposes a MSHMM(Multi-Section Hidden Markov Model) recognition method based on Fuzzy Concept, as a method on the speech recognition of speaker-independent. In this recognition method, training data are divided into several section and multi-observation sequences given proper probabilities by fuzzy rule according to order of short distance from MSVQ codebook per each section are obtained. Thereafter, the HMM per each section using this multi-observation sequences is generated, and in case of recognition, a word that has the most highest probability is selected as a recognized word. In this paper, other experiments to compare with the results of these experiments are implemented by the various conventional recognition methods(DP, MSVQ, DMS, general HMM) under the same data. Through results of all-round experiment, it is proved that the proposed MSHMM based on fuzzy concept is superior to DP method, MSVQ method, DMS model and general HMM model in recognition rate and computational time, and does not decreases recognition rate as 92.91% in spite of increment of speaker number.

  • A pseudoreceptor combines structure-based and ligand-based techniques to represent a unifying concept for both receptor mapping and ligand matching. In this molecular modeling approach, there are opportunities to construct the pseudoreceptor models using a set of small molecules. To build a reliable pseudoreceptor model, we need a set of ligand molecules with known affinity (biological activity) to generate 3D bioactive conformation for each of these ligand molecules. Several software packages are available to generate a pseudoreceptor model and this can provide an entry point for structure based drug discovery in cases where receptor structure information is not available. In this review, we presented the concept of pseudoreceptor, as well as discussed about various software packages available to generate a pseudoreceptor model.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop new seismic design concept based on ductility demand for reinforced concrete bridge columns in areas of low to moderate seismicity. In developing the ductility based design approach, relationship between ductility demand and transverse reinforcement demand should be quantitatively developed. To evaluate ductility capacity of reinforced concrete columns, analytical models and a non-linear analysis program, NARCC have been developed. Based on analytical and experimental results, an equation for relationship between curvature ductility and displacement ductility, an equation for designing the transverse confinement reinforcement for ductility demand, and a new seismic design concept of RC bridge columns are presented.
