진생베리 발효추출물의 화장품 약리활성 (Study on Cosmeceutical Activities from Fermented Ginseng Berry Extracts)

  • 진생베리는 진세노사이드 Re을 다량함유하고 있고 항염, 항암, 혈당강하 및 미백효과가 있다. 본 연구에서는 Rhizopus Oligosporus 균주를 이용하여 진생베리 발효공정을 확립하였으며 진생베리 발효물에 대한 화장품 약리활성을 분석하였다. 발효에 의한 인삼 베리 추출물의 전자 공여 능력은 1,000 ㎍/mL 농도에서 81%를 나타냈다. ABTS+ 라디칼 소거능 1,000 ㎍/mL 농도에서 100.2% 효과를 나타내었다. 피부 미백과 관련된 티로시나 아제 억제 효과는 1,000 ㎍ /mL 농도에서 57%였다. 피부 주름과 관련된 엘라스타제 억제효과는 1,000 ㎍/mL 농도에서 47%였다. 또한, 콜라게나제 억제 효과는 1,000 ㎍/mL 농도에서 33%였다. 이상의 결과로부터 진생베리 발효물이 항염과 미백, 주름개선 효능을 가진다고 판단된다. 따라서 진생베리 발효물이 향우 항염 및 항노화 화장품 원료로서의 이용 가능성이 매우 높을 것으로 판단된다.

In vitro assay for osteoinductive activity of different demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft

  • Purpose: Various bone graft materials have been used for periodontal tissue regeneration. Demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft (DFDBA) is a widely used bone substitute. The current widespread use of DFDBA is based on its potential osteoinductive ability. Due to the lack of verifiable data, the purpose of this study was to assess the osteoinductive activity of different DFDBAs in vitro. Methods: Sarcoma osteogenic (SaOS-2) cells (human osteoblast-like cells) were exposed to 8 mg/mL and 16 mg/mL concentrations of three commercial types of DFDBA: Osseo+, AlloOss, and Cenobone. The effect of these materials on cell proliferation was determined using the 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. The osteoinductive ability was evaluated using alizarin red staining, and the results were confirmed by evaluating osteogenic gene expression using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Results: In the SaOS-2 cells, an 8 mg/mL concentration of Osseo+ and Cenobone significantly increased cell proliferation in 48 hours after exposure (P<0.001); however, in these two bone materials, the proliferation of cells was significantly decreased after 48 hours of exposure with a 16 mg/mL concentration (P<0.001). The alizarin red staining results demonstrated that the 16 mg/mL concentration of all three tested DFDBA induced complete morphologic differentiation and mineralized nodule production of the SaOS-2 cells. The RT-PCR results revealed osteopontin gene expression at a 16 mg/mL concentration of all three test groups, but not at an 8 mg/mL concentration. Conclusions: These commercial types of DFDBA are capable of decreasing proliferation and increasing osteogenic differentiation of the SaOS-2 cell line and have osteoinductive activity in vitro.

기계식 및 재래식 죽초액의 아질산염 소거 및 전자공여 작용 (The Nitrite Scavenging and Electron Donating Ability of Bamboo Smoke Distillates made by steel kiln and earth kiln)

  • 신선한 왕대(Phyllostachys bambuoides bambuoides sieb. et zucc.)를 기계식 탄화로와 재래식 토요를 이용하여 탄화시켜 기계식 죽초액과 재래식 죽초액을 얻고 기계식 죽초액을 증류·정제하여 정제 죽초액을 얻은 다음 각각의 죽초액의 아질산염 소거와 전자공여 효과 및 이들의 페놀성 화합물의 함량을 조사하였다. 죽초액을 $1{\sim}6%$까지 6단계로 희석하여 각 농도에서의 아질산염 소거효과를 비교하였을 때 동일한 pH 하에서 농도가 증가할수록 활성이 증가하였다. 각각의 죽초액이 pH 1.2와 pH 3.0에서 뚜렷한 소거활성을 보였으나 pH가 증가할수록 점차적으로 낮아져 pH가 6.0일 때에는 미미한 상태였다. 각각의 죽초액이 일정한 농도와 pH에서 아질산염 소거효과는 유의적인 차이(p<0.05)를 나타내었으며 기계식 죽초액, 기계식 정제 죽초액, 재래식 죽초액의 순 이었다. 기계식 죽초액, 기계식 정제 죽초액, 재래식 죽초액의 총 페놀성 화합물의 함량은 유의적인 차이(p<0.05)를 보였고 각각 663.4, 571.62, 485.16 ppm이었으며 증류·정제과정에서 함량이 감소되었다. 각각의 죽초액을 $0.2{\sim}1.2%$까지 6단계로 희석하여 각 농도별 반응시간에 따르는 전자공여 작용 효과를 비교하였다. 농도가 증가할수록, 반응시간이 길어질수록 각각의 죽초액의 전자공여 작용 효과가 뚜렷하였고 일정시간 내에서 각 농도에서의 전자공여 작용 효과는 죽초액간에 유의적인 차이를 보였으며 기계식 죽초액이 가장 컸고 다음으로 기계식 정제 죽초액, 재래식 죽초액의 순 이었다. 이와 같은 결과는 재래식 죽초액이나 기계식 정제 죽초액보다 기계식 죽초액에 페놀성 화합물이 더 많이 함유되어서 나타난 것으로 생각된다.

영양소 결핍으로 유도한 성장장애 흰쥐에서 용옥고(龍玉膏)가 성장 및 학습효과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Yongohkgo on Growth and Learning Ability in Growth Deficiency Rat With Linsufficient Nutrition Diet)

  • Effects of Kyungohkgo Ga Nokyong(Yongohkgo) on growth development and learning ability were investigated growth and intellectual impairment rat with insufficient nutrition diet. We divided male Sprague-Dawley rats into 4 groups. They were Normal group, Growth deficiency rat with insufficient nutrition diet group, Growth deficiency rat with 0.1% Yongohkgo group and 0.2% Yongohkgo group. They were administered for 5 weeks. We measured body weight, and morris water maze test in escape distance, escape time and escape speed, serum growth hormone, insulin-like growth factor and thyroid stimulating hormone, RBC, concentration of Hb and PCV ratio, total WBC and its composition, the values of GOT and GPT activities. The results are as follows that Yongohkgo 0.1%, 0.2% groups were showed significantly different than control groups in body weight and the counts of RBC. In the morris water maze test, in escape distance and escape time, in concentration of Hb and PCV ratio, 0.2% Yongohkgo group were significantly different than control groups. Serum growth hormone, insulin- like growth factor and thyroid stimulating hormone showed a tendency to increase in Yongohkgo groups. The counts of total WBC and its composition, GOT, GPT activities showed no significantly different in all treatment groups. These results suggested that Yongohkgo have an effect of promoting growth and learning ability of rats and might be effect to treat various kinds of growth and learning ability delay in children.

천연경신(天然更新)의 요건(要件)으로서의 리기다소나무 곰솔 및 회양목의 내음성(耐陰性)의 조사(調査) (Investigation on the shade tolerance of Pinus rigida, P. Thunbergii and Buxus Koreana)

  • It has already been noted that some tree species, denoted as tolerant species, endure to behavior shadiness in growth than those species, denoted as intolerant species, since this fact of tolerance must be involved in silvicultural practice, the present author, with pinus rigida, pinus Thunbergii, and Buxus koreana, investigated the relation of degree of shadiness to soil moisture condition. Because tolerant and intolerant trees must be considered from the standpoint of their ability to use any of the factors that are likely to be at low concentration in the dense or open forest. The observed results may be summarized as follows : 1. The ability of tolerance of the species to shadiness is differently concluded by the base with which the analysis was made, i.c. Height, growth, diameter growth, T-R ratio or dry matter increase and so on. Regarding this point root collar increment or dry matter increase were considered more reasonable bases for discussing the tolerability. 2. When total length growth, including both stem and root, is taken as standard for the comparison of the ability of tolerance for each species, higher soil moisture condition and thicker shadeniss lessened the ability of pinus rigida, seedlings. Pinus Thunbergii, showed. However more moisture resistant than pinus rigida. Buxus koreana, seemed to have stronger ability of tolerance than any others. 3. When total dry matter content taken as standard, the results obtained are given in Fig, 3. In pinus rigida, the soil moisture supplemented the lack of light.

Antioxidant activity and nitrite scavenging ability of each fractions from Phyllostachys bambusoides ethanolic extract

  • This study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of antioxidative activity and nitrite scavenging ability of each fractions from Phyllostachys bambusoides S. et Z. (P. bambusoides) trunk ethanolic extract using reverse-phase flash chromatography. Among the each fractions, fraction 3 $(H_2O\;:\;MeOH\;=\;1:1)$ showed high DPPH free radical scavenging activity (81.33%) at $80\;{\mu}g/mL$ concentrations and strongly inhibited autooxidation of pyrogallol by superoxide dismutase-like activity (45.8 %) at 0.46 mg/mL concentrations compared with different fractions. The fraction 3 was also increased to 76.62% cell viability against hydrogen peroxide-mediated cytotoxicity. Nitrite scavenging ability was the most remarkable under pH 1.2 condition among various pH regions examined and effectively exhibited to 65.6% by treatment of the fraction 3 with a concentration of 0.2 mg/ml. In general, nitrite scavenging ability decreased with higher pH condition. These results suggest that fraction 3 from P. bambusoides ethanolic extract can be used for bioacitve and functional materials.

The impact of Computer Game Addiction on Communication capabilities

  • This study was a cross-sectional descriptive research that investigate the level of addiction and analyzed the impact of computer game addiction from 20 to 30 years old on communication capabilities. The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of game addiction according to general characteristics and to confirm the effect of computer game addiction on communication ability. There were a total of 220 participants in the study. This survey for this study was a self-reporting questionnaire, research tools for this study were developed by Lee (2000) using game addiction and Communication ability developed by Frits et al., (1999). Data analysis was analyzed with frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and Regression using SPSS 18.0. As a result of analysis, the difference between game addiction and communication ability by gender was appeared to be different under statistical significance levels: game addiction (t=-.9.2, p<0.01), subcomponents of communication ability, concentration (t=7.20, p<0.01), understanding (t=6.13, p<0.01), response (t=6.22, p<0.01), memory (t=2.88, p<0.05). The highest level of game addiction was appeared between 28 and 30 years old under statistical significance (p<0.01). Finally computer game addiction affects understanding, a subcomponent of communication capabilities.

An Educational Program against Digital Drama using Artificial Intelligence

  • Cyberbullying and digital drama are on the rise among students. Therefore, this paper proposes an educational program that can enhance students' ability to use artificial intelligence(AI) technology and develop the power to respond to digital drama. In order to understand the effect of the proposed education program, this education was applied on a trial basis to 205 middle school students residing in South Korea. Moreover, the change of coping ability to the digital drama was observed before and after education. After applying for the educational program, the students' empathy(t=-5.506, p<0.001), peer conflict resolution(t=-3.842, p<0.01), and peer mediation(t=-4.213, p<0.001) improved, and did not significantly affect their anger control ability(t=-0.272, p>0.05). The educational program proposed in this paper uses AI to make it more attractive for students familiar with digital devices to participate in education and increase their educational concentration. This paper has its limitations as it is a study only for middle school students in South Korea. However, it is significant that the educational program proposed in this paper prevented the recently increased digital drama and led to a crucial change in coping ability.

한약재를 가미한 녹용추출물의 생리활성에 관한 연구 (Studies on Biological Activity from Antler extract added Medical plants)

  • This study was designed to investigate biological activity of antler extract added medical plants. The scavenging activity of DPPH radical was low scavenging activity at 0.01% concentration. But in the 0.05% and higher concentration, electron donating ability(EDA) is above 50% except Kongindangagam(48.5%) and significantly good above 70% in the 4 extracts. Superoxide dismutase(SOD)-like activity was 44.3% and 45.1% extracts of Ohjayenjongwhangami and M(market sample), Inhibition of xanthine oxidase were above 50% at 0.5% concentration except Boshingiwhangwhangami and from 62.4% to 84.9% in the 4 extracts. Inhibition rate of boshingiwhangwhangami was hasty increased from 33.5% to 77.5% at 1.0% concentration and others the higher concentration, the more increasing inhibition. Angiotension I-converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitory activities were high activity all of extracts. In the 0.5% concentration, ACE inhibition was above 80%. Especially 0.01% concentration of M was presented 81.8%. The study which conducted to investigate the effect of feeding antler extract group for 50 days on sperm concentration, Ca contents of serum, kidney and femur in rats was higher than that saline group.

  • This study was on basic step to develop a good clean extinguishing agent. In order to get a satisfactory result, we tested fire extinguishing ability using Novec which is inert gas. In study used to Cup Burner Test its made by international standard ISO-14520 regulations of gaseous extinguishing agent ability test. The finding is that a new clean agent, Novec has a very efficient extinguishing ability in a state of gas.
