  • In this paper, I lay the foundation for creating a multiscale atlas that characterizes cerebrovasculature structural changes across the entire brain of a mouse in the Knife-Edge Scanning Microscopy dataset. The geometric reconstruction of the vascular filaments embedded in the volume imaging dataset provides the ability to distinguish cerebral vessels by diameter and other morphological properties across the whole mouse brain. This paper presents a means for studying local variations in the small vascular morphology that have a significant impact on the peripheral nervous system in other cerebral areas, as well as the robust and vulnerable side of the cerebrovasculature system across the large blood vessels. I expect that this foundation will prove invaluable towards data-driven, quantitative investigations into the system-level architectural layout of the cerebrovasculature and surrounding cerebral microstructures.

  • The deposition of sewer solids during dry weather in combined sewer systems results in a loss of flow capacity that may restrict flow and cause a local flooding and enhanced solids deposition. In order to solve these problems and to manage sewer systems efficiently, development of estimation equations for solid sediments In sewer systems is needed. However, estimation of solid sediments has performed using specific methods such as computer model before the development of estimation equations. In this study, solid sediments in sewer systems were estimated using MOUSE model for Gunja drainage basin in Korea and the estimated results were verified using estimation equations developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As results, the estimated values using MOUSE model are smaller than that of equations developed in 1977 but greater than that of equations developed in 1984. Although the comparison between simulated and measured solid deposition is difficult due to the absent of measurement data, the estimated values using MOUSE model is reliable and can be used to develop estimation equations for solid sediment in Gunja drainage basin.

  • Inflatable Mouse is a volume-adjustable user interface. It can be inflated up to the volume of a familiar mouse, but be deflated and stored flat in a PC card slot of a laptop computer when not in use. Inflatable Mouse functions just like a typical mouse; moreover, it provides new interaction techniques by sensing the air pressure in the balloon of the mouse. It also addresses some issues associated with pressure-sensing interactions such as the lack of bi-directional control and the lack of effective feedback. Moreover, it can be used as both a control tool and a display tool. In this paper, the design of an Inflatable Mouse prototype is described and potential application scenarios such as zooming in/out and fast scrolling using pressure control are explained. We also discuss the potential use of Inflatable Mouse as an emotional communication tool.

  • The main stream of presentation is interrupted because of the direct manipulation of their PC frequently so as to control the screen and file open and so on. A variety of products have been developed to solve these inconveniences of the conventional laser beam pointer [LBP] by simply adding a mouse function to the previous LBP. However. the LBPs fully supporting a mouse function are not yet appeared. In this paper. we developed the LBP fully fulfilling a mouse function using mono-camera as well as a robust image processing and analyzed the position detection accuracy. Finally we verified the developed LBP does not only fulfill a mouse function but also solve the defects of the current laser pointer such as inconvenient installation and Position detection errors due to the illumination and viewing direction changes.

  • Gaze detection is to find out the position on a monitor screen where a user is looking at, using the image processing and computer vision technology, We developed a computer interface system using the gaze detection technology, This system enables a user to control the computer system without using their hands. So this system will help the handicapped to use a computer and is also useful for the man whose hands are busy doing another job, especially in tasks in factory. For the practical use, command signal like mouse clicking is necessary and we used eye winking to give this command signal to the system.

  • Due to a recent rise in use of a wireless keyboard and mouse, attacks which take user's input information or control user's computer remotely exploiting the physical vulnerability in the wireless communication have been reported. Especially, MouseJack, announced by Bastille Network, attacks 2.4 GHz wireless keyboards and mice through exploiting vulnerability of each manufacturer's receiver. Unlike other attacks that have been revealed, this allows to attack AES wireless keyboards. Nonetheless, there is only a brief overview of the attack but no detailed information on this attacking method. Therefore, in this paper we will analyze the Microsoft 2.4 GHz wireless mouse packet and propose a way to set the packet configuration for HID packet injection simulating a wireless mouse. We also develop a system with 2.4 GHz AES wireless keyboard HID packet injection using the proposed packet and demonstrate via experiment that HID packet injection is possible through the system we built.

  • This paper suggested the best work conditions including short break time and the number of mouse clicks on the computer work for the prevention of MSDs on VDT work. Fatigue measures included EMG based parameters. The short break time conditions are grouped into 7, 15, and 30 seconds after every work for 10 min and the number of mouse clicks are divided into 10, 20, and 30 clicks/min. The result of the ANOVA of the shift value of %MVC(Maximum Voluntary Contraction) showed the following: 1) There was a considerable difference as regards to the break time except the number of mouse clicks on the upper trapezius muscle(p$<$0.05). The best conditions were shown in 15 sec after every 10 min and 30 clicks/min. 2) There were considerable differences as regards to the number of mouse clicks except the break time on the extensor digitorum muscle and extensor carpi ulnaris muscle(p$<$0.05). The best conditions were shown in 7 sec after every 10min and 10 clicks/min.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for automatically analyzing the bone formation in a mouse model of frontal bone defect. We perforate two holes of 0.8mm diameter in the frontal bone and observe the bone formation process using a micro CT. Because the conventional analysis software of the micro CT does not support automatic analysis of the bone formation status, we have to use a manual analysis method. However the manual analysis is very cumbersome and requires a lot of time, we propose an automatic analysis method. It rotates the image around three axes directions so that the mouse's skull come into regular position. It calculates the cumulative image of the voxel values for the perforated bone surface. It estimates the hole location by finding the darkest point in the cumulative image. The proposed method was applied to 24 CT images of saline administration group and PTH administration group and hole location was estimated. BV/TV index was calculated for the estimated hole to evaluate the bone formation status. Experimental results showed that bone formation process is more active in PTH administration group. The method proposed in this paper could replace successfully the cumbersome and time consuming manual job.

  • The input for computer interaction design is very limited for the users to control the interface by only using keyboard and mouse. However, using the basic electrical engineering, the input design can be different from the existing method. Interactive art using computer technology is recently emersed, which is completed by people's participation. The electric signal transmitted in digital and analogue type from the interface controled by people to the computer can be used in multimedia interaction design. The electric circuit design will be necessary to transmit very safe electric signal from the interface. Electric switch, sensor, and camera technologies can be applied to input interface design, which would be alternative physical interaction without computer keyboard and mouse. This type of interaction design using human's body language and gesture would convey the richness of humanity.
