Polymeric micro lens arrays with diameters of $13\~96\;{\mu}m$ fabricated using the micro-compression molding with electro formed mold inserts. In the present study, the electro forming process was used to make the metallic micro-mold insert for micro-molding of microlens array. The wettability property of the fabricated mold insert was examined by measuring the contact angle of the polymer melt on the mold insert. Microlenses were compression-molded with the fabricated mold insert. The effects of the molding temperature and wettability property on the replication quality of the molded lenses were analyzed experimentally.

This study is to characterize the material property of early age high performance concrete emphasizing compressive strength using nondestructive testing methods. Three high performance concrete slabs of 600, 850 and 1100kg/$cm^{2}$ compressive strengths were prepared together with cylinders from same batches. Cylinder tests were peformed at the ages of 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after pouring. Using the impact echo method, the compression wave velocities were obtained based on different high performance concrete ages and compressive strengths. The equation to obtain the compressive strengths of high performance concrete has been developed using the obtained compression wave velocities. Using the SASW (spectral analysis of surface wave) method, the equation have also been developed to obtain the compressive strengths of high performance concrete based on the surface wave velocities.

Several image coding algorithms have been developed for the telecommunication and multimedia systems with high image quality and high compression ratio. In order to achieve low entropy and distortion, the system should pay great cost of computation time and memory. In this paper, the uniform cubic lattice is chosen for Lattice Vector Quantization (LVQ) because of its generic simplicity. As a transform coding, the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied to the images because of its multiresolution property. The proposed algorithm is basically composed of the biorthogonal DWT and the uniform cubic LVQ. The multiresolution property of the DWT is actively used to optimize the entropy and the distortion on the basis of the distortion-rate function. The vector codebooks are also designed to be optimal at each subimage which is analyzed by the biorthogonal DWT. For compression efficiency, the vector codebook has different dimension depending on the variance of subimage. The simulation results show that the performance of the proposed coding mdthod is superior to the others in terms of the computation complexity and the PSNR in the range of entropy below 0.25 bpp.
Based on the actual operating environment of transformer, the aging tests of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) were conducted systematically under four conditions: in air, in transform oil, under compression in air and under compression in transform oil to studythe effect of high temperature, transform oil and compression stress simultaneously on the thermal aging behaviors of nitrile butadiene rubber and predict the lifetime. The effects of liquid media and compression stress simultaneously on the thermal aging behaviors of nitrile butadiene rubber were studied by using characterization methods such as IR spectrosc-opy, thermogravimetric measurements, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements and mechanical property measurements. The changes in physical properties during the aging process were analyzed and compared. Different aging conditions yielded materials with different properties. Aging at $70^{\circ}C$ under compression stress in oil, the change in elongation at break was lower than that aging in oil, but larger than that aging under compression in air. The compression set or elongation at break as evaluation indexes, 50% as critical value, the lifetime of NBR at $25^{\circ}C$ was predicted and compared. When aging under compression in oil, the prediction lifetime was lower than in air and under compression in air, and in oil. It was clear that when predicting the service lifetime of NBR in oil sealing application, compression and media liquid should be involved simultaneously. Under compression in oil, compression set as the evaluation index, the prediction lifetime of NBR was shorter than that of elongation at break as the evaluation index. For the life prediction of NBR, we should take into account of the performance trends of NBR under actual operating conditions to select the appropriate evaluation index.

The objective of this work was to optimize processing parameters of hybrid thermoplastic composites in compression molding. The mechanical properties of the composites manufactured with various forming conditions were measured to characterize processing parameters. Polypropylene(PP) composites containing randomly oriented long carbon fiber and carbon black were used in this work. The composite materials contained 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% carbon fiber and 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% carbon black by weight. Compression molding was conducted at various mold temperatures. The temperature of the material in the mid-plain was monitored during the forming. Crystallinity was also measured by using XRD. The tensile modulus of the composites increase, with increasing the mold temperature. However, the impact strength of the composites decreases as mold temperature increases.

A main property for fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite material in compression molding is the flow of fibers. This flow is so effective a long direction of acting force that this study examined for the inclined angel of 30$^{\circ}$, 45$^{\circ}$ and 6$^{\circ}$. Below the near softing temperature of plastic, the fiber has been fractured at a point so that the fiber strength is smaller then the local hydrostatic stress in the mold. It has been found that the position of fracture is changing accrding to the incling angle. In case of the above softing temperature, the larger the inclined is, the farther the flow of fiber move. Also the plastic flow has been progresed with the cicular are type.
Vegetable oil and its derivatives as an alternative diesel fuel have become more attractive recently because of its environmental benefits and the fact that they are made from renewable resources. Viscosity is the most significant property to affect the utilization of vegetable oil and its derivatives in the compression ignition engines. This paper presents the existing correlations for predicting the viscosity of vegetable oil and its derivatives for compression ignition engines. According to the parameter considered in the correlations, the empirical correlations can be divided into six groups: correlations as a function of temperature, of proportion, of composition, of temperature and composition, of temperature and proportion, and of fuel properties. Out of physical properties of fuel, there exist in the literature several parameters for giving the influence on kinematic viscosity such as density, specific gravity, the ratio of iodine value over the saponification value, higher heating value, flash point and pressure. The study for the verification of applicability of existing correlations to non-edible vegetable oil and its derivatives is required.

The objective of this work was to characterize mechanical properties of thermoplastic composites for various forming condition in compression molding. Randomly oriented long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene(PP) was used in the work. The composite materials contained 20%, 30%, and 40% glass fiber by weight. Compression molding was conducted to make the test specimen. Dimensional stability was measured on each forming condition with the spring-forward angle. Tensile test was conducted to characterize mechanical properties of formed parts in various forming conditions.

In the study, the flow stress of material and friction condition were determined by using the cylinder compression test and numerical method. We proposed the flow stress equation including the initial yield strength to predict it from the upper bound method. The upper bound technique uses the velocity field which includes two unknowns to effectively express bulging. Also, inverse engineering technique uses the object function to minimize area enclosed by load-stroke curve. The friction factor is determined from the radius of curvature of the barrel by cylinder compression test. Flow stress and initial yield strength predicted from the above techniques are verified through the finite element simulation.
Cryptographic hash functions reduce inputs of arbitrary or very large length to a short string of fixed length. All hash function designs start from a compression function with fixed length inputs. The compression function itself is designed from scratch, or derived from a block cipher or a permutation. The most common procedure to extend the domain of a compression function in order to obtain a hash function is a simple linear iteration; however, some variants use multiple iterations or a tree structure that allows for parallelism. This paper presents a survey of 17 extenders in the literature. It considers the natural question whether these preserve the security properties of the compression function, and more in particular collision resistance, second preimage resistance, preimage resistance and the pseudo-random oracle property.
