  • This study was to investigate the effects of the hot compress pack on alleviating local muscular discomfort, stiffness in limbs as well as the chronic pains such as migraine in terms of hemodynamics. In this study, the hot compress band was put on the neck and the local physiological change on the stimulation site and the cranial blood circulation change were examined. We recruited healthy volunteers (n=8, mean age: 32.13 (4.61)), who participated in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study. Local skin color and temperature were measured for the local effect of the hot compress band and the changes of intra-cranial and extra-cranial blood vessels were examined with MR angiography (MRA) images. The skin temperature increased from $36.4^{\circ}C$ at the rest condition to $36.7^{\circ}C$ and $37.1^{\circ}C$ after 15 min and 30 min stimulation, respectively. The change of the extra-cranial blood vessels between pre-stimulation and post-stimulation of 30 min was significantly increased (+38.8%), while the change of the intra-cranial blood vessels was negligible. In this study, we demonstrated that the hot compress band on the neck yielded the increase of local skin temperature on the stimulation site and it made an effect on the extracranial circulation. In conclusion, the stimulation with a hot compress could facilitate the blood circulation, causing to relieve the muscular discomfort, stiffness in limbs as well as the chronic pains such as migraine.

  • In this paper, we investigated quality properties for the expansive of the CaO-$CaSO_4$ family which used to compensate dry-shrinkage in the floor mortar of On-Dol heating System. This experimental study established the mix condition with quantity of the expansive and is to investigate the relativity between the compress strength and the length change and the relativity between the chemical properties and the length change with the analysis of the physical and chemical properties. As a result of the study, the expansive is controlled by more the CaO than the $CaSO_4$. The relativity between the compress strength and the length change is expressed by exponential function, showing that if the expansive performance is increased, the compress strength is decreased. And the relativity between the chemical properties and the length change is only relative the quantity of the F-CaO among the chemical properties, is expressed by the second order function, showing that if the F-CaO is increased, the expansive performance is increased.

  • A MIMO multi-way relay channel with full data exchange in which K users exchange messages with each other via the help of a single relay is considered. For the case in which each link is quasi-static Rayleigh fading and the relay is full-duplex, the fundamental diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is investigated, and we show that a compress-and-forward relay protocol can achieve the optimal DMT.

  • I here are many kinds of method to compress data. To very simple methods from very complex methods, a kind is various. In this study, the simplest form of the Tolerance-Comparison method, zero-order method is used. Using this method, despite using low speed CPUs, it is possible to compress real time data. So this method is suitable for ECG holler system. In this study, to complement zero-order method, it is needed to develop prediction technique and to research ways to apply the technique.

  • Compresses sensing (CS) technique is beneficial for reducing power consumption of biopotential acquisition circuits in wireless healthcare system. This paper investigates the maximum possible compress ratio for various biopotential signal when the CS technique is applied. By using the CS technique, we perform the compression and reconstruction of typical electrocardiogram(ECG), electromyogram(EMG), electroencephalogram(EEG) signals. By comparing the original signal and reconstructed signal, we determines the validity of the CS-based signal compression. Raw-biopotential signal is compressed by using a psuedo-random matrix, and the compressed signal is reconstructed by using the Block Sparse Bayesian Learning(BSBL) algorithm. EMG signal, which is the most sparse biopotential signal, the maximum compress ratio is found to be 10, and the ECG'sl maximum compress ratio is found to be 5. EEG signal, which is the least sparse bioptential signal, the maximum compress ratio is found to be 4. The results of this work is useful and instrumental for the design of wireless biopotential signal monitoring circuits.

  • This research deals with the implementation procedures of a chorus processing DSP for karaoke system. It is necessary to compress the chorus data to store as many choruses as we can. We apply MPEG-1 audio algorithm to compress the chorus data. And the chorus system must be accompanied with the karaoke that can change the key and the tempo. So the chorus DSP must be able to change the key and tempo of the chorus data. We apply SOLA (Synchronized Overlap and Add) to do it. We designed the chorus DSP that can compress the chorus, change the key and tempo. And we verified the chorus DSP logic using FPGA. The used FPGA are two FLEX10K100s made by ALTERA. Finally we make the ASIC chip of chorus DSP and verify its operation.

  • This paper suggests to compress data selectively for improvement of data compression efficiency, not to perform unconditional compression on data. Whether to compress or not is determined by selective data distinction. By doing so, we can avoid unnecessary compression in the case of low compression efficiency. Cutting down the unnecessary compression, we can improve the performance of the pre-compression algorithm. Especially, the data algorithm which was already compressed could not be compressed efficiently in many cases, even if apply compression algorithm again. Even in these cases, we don't have to compress data unnecessarily. We implemented the proposed function actually and performed experiments with implementation. The experimental results showed normal operation.

  • A novel distributed compress-and-forward (CF) system based on multi-relay network is presented. In this system, as the direct link between the source and destination is invalid due to some reasons, such as the limited power, special working environment, or even economic factors, relays are employed to receive analog signals and carry on distributed compressed encoding. Subsequently, the digital signals are transmitted to the destination via wireless channel. Moreover, a theoretical analysis for the system is provided by utilizing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) theory and Shannon channel capacity theory, and the rate-distortion function as well as the connection between the transmission rate and the channel capacity are constructed. In addition, an optimal signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) -based power allocation method is proposed to maximize the quantization SNR under the limited total power. Simulation result shows that the proposed CF system outperforms the amplify-and-forward (AF) system versus the SNR performance.
