  • In this paper, a standard robot design methodology is suggested and a software architecture for modular robot is introduced. The robot is modularized by several functions, and the module is produced according to a standard proposal. Each module requires standard interface for communicate in distributed environments. Software architecture was developed to support distributed component environment, and application development support tools are developed for user convenience. Many robot softwares are developed in a library form so that, they are being used widely robot application software development. Also a device driver was developed for the mostly used sensor and actuator. It is verified that the modular robot can be applied in various fields through guide, errand and guard scenario.

  • The purpose of this study is to make clear that the relationship between the directional properties of late arriving sound and listener envelopment (LEV). Psycho-acoustical experiments are performed with an objective measure of inter-aural cross-correlation(IACC) in order In predict whether LEV is perceived equally in two kinds of sound fields with horizontal or vertical component of late arriving sound. It is found that LEV is affected by not horizontal component of late arriving sound but also vertical one.

  • A software application builder has designed and partially implemented a E-Business software system using several reusable in-house software components. The builder finds an externally available third-party software components that satisfies solve desired functionality or behavior. We need systematic classification of the component from the domain. We propose a reference architecture of E-Business domain. It is used to search and reuse requiring components.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the meanings of water and water spaces in the Western architecture. The meaning of water is investigated by means of mythology and literature studies. It is found that water has ambivalent meanings, i.e. life and death, creation and destruction, chastity and sensuality. The meanings of water spaces in the Western architecture are dramatic, secret and dynamic, and represent publicity, verticality, formality in addition to desire for authority and realization(embodiment) of paradise. Water space is an essential component of beautiful and dynamic spaces and is used to revitalize dreary spaces.

따라서 본 논문에서는 IDL작성 전의 시스템 분석과 검증 단계를 소프트웨어 아키텍쳐 접근 방법을 이용한 SACM(Software Architecture-based Component Modeling) 기법을 제안하였다.

  • Component Based Development (CBD) is appealing as a technology to improve the productivity of software development through component reuse. Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is a new development paradigm which automatically generates application by transforming design models incrementally. Since both reusability of CBD and model transformation of MDA increase software productivity. integration of two technologies is desirable. To enable this technology integration, we need to devise a UML profile for specifying component design as a PIM. In this paper, we first define a meta-model for components, and propose a UML profile which is used to specify elements of component design as PIM. Since the proposed profile is based on Meta Object Facility (MOF) from which is MDA is derived, it is consistent and compatible with existing MDA methods and tools.

  • Seismic demand on nonstructural components (NSCs) is highly dependent on the coupled behavior of a combined supporting structure-NSC system. Because of the inherent complexities of the problem, many of the affecting factors are inevitably neglected or simplified based on engineering judgments in current seismic design codes. However, a systematic analysis of the key affecting factors should establish reasonable seismic design provisions for NSCs. In this study, an idealized 2-DOF model simulating the coupled structure-NSC system was constructed to analyze the parameters that affect the response of NSCs comprehensively. The analyses were conducted to evaluate the effects of structure-NSC mass ratio, structure, and NSC nonlinearities on the peak component acceleration. Also, the appropriateness of component ductility factor (Rp) given by current codes was discussed based on the required ductility capacity of NSCs. It was observed that the responses of NSCs on the coupled system were significantly affected by the mass ratio, resulting in lower accelerations than the floor spectrum-based response, which neglected the interaction effects. Also, the component amplification factor (ap) in current provisions tended to underestimate the dynamic amplification of NSCs with a mass ratio of less than 15%. The nonlinearity of NSCs decreased the component responses. In some cases, the code-specified Rp caused nonlinear deformation far beyond the ductility capacity of NSCs, and a practically unacceptable level of ductility was required for short-period NSCs to achieve the assigned amount of response reduction.

  • The packaged terminal air conditioner, the typical cooling system for the residential buildings, consumes a large amount of electricity in a short period time during peak hours. In order to reduce the peak load and conserve the electricity, the thermally activated building system can be used as a secondary system to handle the partial cooling load. However, the thermally activated building system may cause condensation and under-cooling. Thus, design of both systems should be performed with careful investigation in characteristics of both systems to amplify the advantages. Since the thermally activated building system has the time-delay effect which may cause under-cooling, the system is designed to handle the base load of the building. Hence, simple simulation with EnergyPlus was performed to observe the characteristics of cooling load in residential buildings. Once the possible range of the load handling ratio of the thermally activated building system was decided, characteristics of system was analyzed in terms of hardware component and operation parameters. The hardware components were analyzed in plant and system aspects and the operation parameter was evaluated in the thermal comfort aspect. As the load handling ratio increased, the thermal comfort increased due to the lower radiant mean temperatures. Within the range of thermal comfort, the several adjustments were made in setpoint temperature and electricity consumptions of difference cases were observed to decide which components and parameters were important for designing the systems.

  • Recently a lot of researches on the component-based software product lines and on applying generative programming into software product lines are being performed actively. This paper proposes an automatic component reconfiguration tool that could be applied in constructing the component-based software product lines. Our tool accepts the reuser's requirement via a feature model which is the main result of the domain engineering, and makes the feature configuration from this requirement. Then it generates the source code of the reconfigured component according to this feature configuration. To accomplish this process, the component family in our tool should have the architecture of GenVoca that is one of the most influential generative programming approaches. In addition, XSLT scripts provide the code templates for implementation elements which are the ingredients of the target component. Taking the ‘Bank Account' component family as our example, we showed that our component reconfiguration tool produced automatically the component source code that the reuser wants to create. The result of this paper would be applied extensively for creasing the productivity of building the software product lines.
