The methods of presenting information are more variable with advanced computer media technology. However, when we visualize information of database, it is more difficult to understand data meaning by complex date, which is not required by user. To compose new information, user needs to combine own his memory and new information presenting result. To be quickly explored new information and be exactly understood relationship of data structure, the data presenting of visualized information is more structured and presented with meaning form. It is possible to make information visualization system, which users can explore database by oneself, with supporting interaction to be able to control and combine relationship of three-dimensional scene graphic structure, presenting factors of animation and data structure of database. There are several diagrams, such as VR diagram, Form structure diagram and simulated diagram as the case study.

As construction projects become larger, higher and more complex, efficient use of information is increasingly more important. As a result, there is a growing demand to apply BIM data obtained in the design stage to the construction stage. In this study, we propose a BIM-based construction schedule management system in order to promote introduction and application of BIM in the construction stage. Specifically, we provided how to build BIM database to be used for construction schedule management, and proposed how to obtain progress information and enter information based on analysis of progress schedule. We also provided a system of classifying construction works for more systematic use of BIM database, a process of using BIM database in construction projects, and a step-by-step guideline on how to establish the system. The proposed construction schedule management system provides information on particular construction schedule, as well as information and progress chart on delayed parts of the work so that a change in schedule can be managed. Additionally, by linking system database with the BIM model, construction progress can be checked in 3D simulation and a delay in construction schedule can be managed. As a result, using BIM at construction sites contributes to improving project productivity.

Information systems for application areas like office automation, customer service or computer aided manufacturing are usually highly interactive and deal with complex document structures composed of multiple media formats. For the realization of these systems, nonstandard database systems, which we call document databases, need to handle different types of coarse-and fine-grained document objects(like full-text documents, graphics and images), hierarchical and non-hierarchical relationships between objects(like composition-links and cross-references using hypertext structures) and document attributes of different types such as formatting/presentation information and access control. In this paper, we present the underlying data model for document databases based on descriptive markup languages that provide mechanisms for specifying the logical structure(or schema) of individual documents stored in the database. We then describe extensions to the data model for supporting notion of composite structures("join" operators for documents) --composition and hyperlinking mechanisms for representing compound documents and inter-linked documents as unique entites separate from their components. Furthermore, due to the interactive nature of the application domains, the database system in conjunction with clients(or browsers) has to support visual navigation and graphical query mechanisms. We describe the functionality of a new user interface paradigm called HyBrow for meeting the above mentioned requirements. The underlying implementation strategy is also discussed.discussed.

Object-oriented database systems represent the complex data model of real- world and manage the complex data. An object manager handles the manipulation and access of all objects in object-oriented database management systems. In this paper, we not only propose the design rules of an object manager interface(OMI) which is specified the calling function and the semantics of an object manager for object-oriented query processing, but also implement the OMI based on the rules. The OMI implemented supports the independently developing environment of query processing and object management modules, and can be applicable to various applications, and also provides the efficient access method to users.

Complex diseases, such as stroke and cancer, have two or more genetic influences and are affected by environmental factors, which complicate them. Due to the complex characteristics of these diseases, we must search and study comprehensive literature-based article resources. Some disease-related literature databases have been developed through specialized journal issues or major websites. Most of them, however, are scattered throughout a website, and users encounter difficulties in finding accurate and comprehensive information easily and quickly. We developed StrokeMed, an integrated literature database for stroke and the differentiation of stroke syndrome. The system allows users to explore PubMed search results, categorized by MeSH (Medical Subject Headings), and the differentiation of stroke syndrome in Oriental medicine. StrokeMed collects data from important sites, such as PubMed, Scirus, and Scopus, automatically to maintain higher-quality and updated content. Currently, the system indexes more than 20,000 PubMed abstracts that are related to stroke, stroke etiology, and Oriental medicine. The system provides valuable literature information to the scientific and medical fields in stroke.

Anopheles fluviatilis James (Oiptera: Culicidae) is one of the known malaria vectors in south and southeastern Iran. Earlier ITS2 sequences analysis of specimens from Iran demonstrated only a single genotype that was identical to species Y in India, which is also the same as species T. We identified 2 haplotypes in the An. fluviatilis populations of Iran based on differences in nucleotide sequences of D3 domain of the 28S locus of ribosomal DNA (rDNA). Comparison of sequence data from 44 Iranian specimens with those publicly available in the Genbank database showed that all of the 288-D3 sequences from Kazeroun and Khesht regions in Fars Province were identical to the database entry representing species U in India. In other regions, all the individuals showed heterozygosity at the single nucleotide position, which identifies species U and T. It is argued that the 2 species may co-occur in some regions and hybridize; however, the heterozygosity in the 288-D3 locus was not reflected in ITS2 sequences and this locus for all individuals was identical to species T. This study shows that in a newly diverged species, like members of An. fluviatilis complex, a single molecular marker may not be sufficiently discriminatory to identify all the taxa over a vast geographical area. In addition, other molecular markers may provide more reliable information for species discrimination.
This paper describes a real time QRS detection algorithm. The proposed algorithm detects QRS complex using characteristics of the 2-dimensional phase portrait which is reconstructed from 1-demensional scalar time series. We observe the phase portrait of ECG signal has special trejectory when QRS complex occurs and apply it to detect QRS complexes. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we use MIT/BIH arrhythmia database. As a result, the proposed algorithm correctly detects 99.3% of the QRS complexes.

In this paper, an extension of the standard common spatial pattern (CSP) algorithm using the strong uncorrelated transform (SUT) is used in order to extract the features for an accurate classification of the left- and right-hand motor imagery tasks. The algorithm is designed to analyze the complex data, which can preserve the additional information of the relationship between the two electroencephalogram (EEG) data from distant channels. This is based on the fact that distant regions of the brain are spatially distributed spatially and related, as in a network. The real-world left- and right-hand motor imagery EEG data was acquired through the Physionet database and the support vector machine (SVM) was used as a classifier to test the proposed method. The results showed that extracting the features of the pair-wise channel data using the strong uncorrelated transform complex common spatial pattern (SUTCCSP) provides a higher classification rate compared to the standard CSP algorithm.

Schema integration is one of the most difficult issues in the heterogeneous and distributed geographic database systems (GDSs). As the use of spatial information in various application areas becomes increasingly popular, the integration of geographic information has become a crucial task for decision makers. Most existing schema integration techniques described in the database literature, however, do not address the problems of managing heterogeneities among complex objects that contain visual data and/or spatial and temporal information. The difficulties arise not only from the semantic conflicts, but also from the different representations of spatial models. Consequently, it is much more complex to achieve interoperability in the area of geographic databases. This research attempts to provide a solution to such problems. The research reported in this paper describes a schema integration methodology and a prototype toolkit developed to assist in schema integration activities for GDSs.
Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) have been used to identify susceptibility genes for complex human diseases and many recent studies succeed to report common genetic factors for various diseases. Unfortunately, it is hard to understand all biological functions and mechanisms around the complex disease with GWAS only although the number of known associated genes with diseases is increased drastically because GWAS is a single locus based approach while not a gene but numerous factors may affect a disease associated pathways. PRaDA generates a combined report with genes, pathways and Gene Ontology (GO) using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis output. The PRaDA reports not only directly associated pathways but also functionally related ones for identifying accumulated effects of low p-value SNPs. Through integrated information including indirect functional effects, user could have insights of overall disease mechanisms and markers.
