  • The train control and monitoring system(TCMS) is an on board computer system in railway vehicles performing the control, supervisory and diagnostic functions of the complete train. This system replaces a lot of hardwired relays and minimizes the necessaries vehicle wiring thus increasing the reliability of the train. In this paper, we proposed a software design technique of TCMS using CASE tool (SAO+). The TCMS functions are implemented in software easily programmed, using a functional block, graphic programming language. We applied the compressor air module to a case study.

  • It has become clear that complex interactions underlie the relationship between the skeletal and immune systems. This is particularly true for the development of immune cells in the bone marrow as well as the functions of bone cells in skeletal homeostasis and pathologies. Because these two disciplines developed independently, investigators with an interest in either often do not fully appreciate the influence of the other system on the functions of the tissue that they are studying. With these issues in mind, this review will focus on several key areas that are mediated by crosstalk between the bone and immune systems. A more complete appreciation of the interactions between immune and bone cells should lead to better therapeutic strategies for diseases that affect either or both systems.

  • In the operation of a power system, the security of the system has acquired significant importance to supply electric power of better quality. The State Estimator, a part of security functions, provides a complete real time solution estimate of the steady-state conditions of the power system for use by the Real Time Network Analysis functions. This paper briefly introduces the Fast Decoupled Weighted Least Square State Estimator which is adopted in the KEPCO EMS with features of Man-Machine Interface.

  • In this article we shall introduce several operators on the reproducing kernel spaces and investigate quadratic forms on the $\mathcal{l}^2$ space. Using these operators we shall obtain a particular solution of a system of quadratic equations(1.5). Finally we can find an approximate solution of(1.5) by optimization of a nonnegative biquadratic polynomial.

  • This paper describes a wearable multi-modal user interface design and its implementation for a teleoperated field robot system. Recently some teleoperated field robots are employed for hazard environment applications (e.g. rescue, explosive ordnance disposal, security). To complete these missions in outdoor environment, the robot system must have appropriate functions, accuracy and reliability. However, the more functions it has, the more difficulties occur in operation of the functions. To cope up with this problem, an effective user interface should be developed. Furthermore, the user interface is needed to be wearable for portability and prompt action. This research starts at the question: how to teleoperate the complicated slave robot easily. The main challenge is to make a simple and intuitive user interface with a wearable shape and size. This research provides multi-modalities such as visual, auditory and haptic sense. It enables an operator to control every functions of a field robot more intuitively. As a result, an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) demonstration is conducted to verify the validity of the proposed wearable multi-modal user interface.

  • In this paper auto-tuning scheme of weight function in the neural networks has been suggested by immune algorithm for nonlinear process. A number of structures of the neural networks are considered as learning methods for control system. A general view is provided that they are the special cases of either the membership functions or the modification of network structure in the neural networks.   • Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and battery charging control are two important functions for a solar battery charger. The former improves utilization of the available solar energy, while the latter ensures a prolonged battery life. Nevertheless, complete implementation of both functions can be complex and costly, especially for low voltage application such as standalone street lamps. In this paper, the operation of a solar battery charger for standalone street light systems is investigated. Using only one voltage sensor, the solar charger is able to operate in both MPPT and constant voltage (CV) charging mode, hence providing high performance at a low cost. Using a lab prototype and a solar simulator, the operation of the charger system is demonstrated and its performance under varying irradiance is validated.

  • IVNS(In-Vehicle Navigation System) which developed by the advance of technological system including computer, display and communication will procide the important interface functions between the driver and the ITS (Intelligent Transport System). However, hat the human factors engineer can actually offer to the designer is by no means a complete set of design specifications. Therefore, a set of boundary conditions and operational ranges within which the designer can be assured that physical, perceptual and cognitive abilities and limitations of drivers will be accommodated system atically[6]. Also, this will be the considerations to compose the IVNS HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design guidelines and IVNS HMI evaluation system. As the first phase of developing the IVNS HMI evaluation system, this paper describe the architecture and the content of this system.

악력 훈련 및 평가를 위한 측정 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Grip Strength Training and Evaluation System of Hand Functions)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 손의 부상 정도나 장애에 대한 치료의 진행 과정에 대하여 정량적인 분석을 하기 위한 것이다. 제안한 평가 항목들은 최고 악력, 악력이 가해지는 시간, 평균 악력, 악력 측정 시작부터 최고 악력까지 도달하는 순간 가속 악력, 일정한 악력 유지 시간을 측정하기 위한 동적 지구력 시간, 주어진 시간 동안 일정 악력을 유지하는 정적 지구력에 대한 변화율 등이다. 구현된 데이터베이스 시스템은 트레이닝, 기능 평가, 개인 정보 등을 기록 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 악력 시스템은 60kg 범위에서 측정이 가능하도록 Load-cell을 이용한 악력 센서를 개발하였다. 제안된 시스템은 의사들이 환자의 재활 프로그램을 진행하는 데 있어 환자의 상태 이해와 해석에 편리와 효율을 제공할 것이다.

  • A research shows that a new category of software, Collaborative Product Commerce (CPC), is now emerging, allowing discrete manufacturers to once again distinguish themselves on their products and innovations. CPC permits discrete manufacturers to significantly improve the core processes around the management functions associated with the complete product life cycle that are the basis of their existence. As a way to develop computing tools of CPC to support a design process of product, a web-based design supporting system was constructed in the paper. The system consists of C-Product system and Net Meeting Communication system to improve communications between designers and persons for verification of design. The product data files of C-Product system were designed by Pro/Engineer and converted to 3D Viewer format for being used in the web browser. Also, Net Meeting Communication system and Database were developed using ASP and Microsoft SQL 2000 Server to share diverse files that can be utilized to design on the web in real time.
