  • In this paper, we designed amplitude equalizer which is composed of amplifier, complementary shaping filter and attenuator in order to improve flatness of high order bandpass filter. We modified Chebyshev polynomial and calculated the prototype elements for complementary shaping filters by network synthesis. The amplitude equalizer is realized that it connects the 4th order complementary shaping filter designed by using calculated the prototype elements to the amplifier compensating for insertion loss and improving return loss, and with the attenuator for gain control. Using proposed amplitude equalizer, We certificated improvement in flatness of 13th order bandpass filter at WiBro band.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify attitudes of nursing students in terms of complementary and alternative therapies and to find out what curriculums they prefer. Methods: Data was collected through 283 participants from a nursing school by self-report questionnaires that were constructed to include scales. The scales were made as a measurement to search the attitudes of nursing students regarding complementary and alternative therapies. In addition, to find out some of the curriculum that are preferred by them. The data was analyzed using t-test and ANOVA with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Students' attitudes of complementary and alternative therapies were positive. Students' attitudes of complementary and alternative therapies differed depending on factors like one's religion, experiences and education. Some of the curriculum that nursing students wished to be opened related to complementary and alternative therapies turned out to be massage therapy, art therapies that include music and dancing, medication therapy and aroma therapy. Conclusion: In order for nursing students to be able to apply these complementary and alternative therapies at the field after graduation while they are working as a registered nurse, constant effort should be accomplished in establishing complementary and alternative therapies as regular curriculum at University.

  • In this paper, the state-space representation of generalized complimentary filter is proposed. Complementary filter has the suitable structure to merge information from sensors whose frequency regions are complementary. First, the basic concept and structure of complementary filter is introduced. And then the structure of the generalized filter and its state-space representation are proposed. The state-space representation of complementary filter is able to design the complementary filter by applying modern filtering techniques like Kalman filter and $H_{\infty}$ filter. To show the usability of the proposed state-space representation, the design of Inertial Navigation System(INS) vertical channel damping loop using Global Positioning System(GPS) is described. The proposed GPS/INS damping loop lends the structure of Baro/INS(Barometer/INS) vertical channel damping loop that is an application of complementary filter. GPS altitude error has the non-stationary statistics although GPS offers navigation information which is insensitive to time and place. Therefore, $H_{\infty}$ filtering technique is selected for adding robustness to the loop. First, the state-space representation of GPS/INS damping loop is acquired. And next the weighted $H_{\infty}$ norm proposed in order to suitably consider characteristics of sensor errors is used for getting filter gains. Simulation results show that the proposed filter provides better performance than the conventional vertical channel loop design schemes even when error statistics are unknown.

  • The vertex set of a digraph D is denoted by V (D). A c-partite tournament is an orientation of a complete c-partite graph. A digraph D is called cycle complementary if there exist two vertex disjoint cycles $C_1$ and $C_2$ such that V(D) = $V(C_1)\;{\cup}\;V(C_2)$, and a multipartite tournament D is called weakly cycle complementary if there exist two vertex disjoint cycles $C_1$ and $C_2$ such that $V(C_1)\;{\cup}\;V(C_2)$ contains vertices of all partite sets of D. The problem of complementary cycles in 2-connected tournaments was completely solved by Reid [4] in 1985 and Z. Song [5] in 1993. They proved that every 2-connected tournament T on at least 8 vertices has complementary cycles of length t and ${\mid}V(T)\mid$ - t for all $3\;{\leq}\;t\;{\leq}\;{\mid}V(T)\mid/2$. Recently, Volkmann [8] proved that each regular multipartite tournament D of order ${\mid}V(D)\mid\;\geq\;8$ is cycle complementary. In this article, we analyze multipartite tournaments that are weakly cycle complementary. Especially, we will characterize all 3-connected c-partite tournaments with $c\;\geq\;3$ that are weakly cycle complementary.

  • In this study, we tried a study on a direction of the field of oriental medicine on accepting complementary alternative medicine by analyzing the related thesis, journals and papers on the complementary alternative medicine published in the field of oriental medicine. As the result of analyzing the present study of the field of oriental medicine on the complementary alternative medicine, there have been 22 studies on the complementary alternative medicine. Thesis, papers were mainly experimental papers about the bee venom therapy, energy therapy, fasting therapy, and colon therapy, and the journals were actively studied in order of clinical paper, experimental paper, and reference paper about the bee venom therapy, energy therapy, and reflexolgy. The acceptance of complementary alternative medicine by the field of oriental medicine through a scientific relation should be conducted more systemically by setting the main academy taking charge of the study on common characteristics of the complementary alternative medicines on the classification of NCCAM as well as the related academies taking charge of the study on the unique characteristic of each complementary alternative medicine. First, additional studies are needed to make the most of characteristics of each complementary alternative medicine through the main academy and the related academies, and for the next, additional studies are necessary to complement the research trend on each complementary alternative medicine through the main academy and related academies.

  • In this paper, we propose a triple nested PID control scheme for stable hovering of a quadrotor and propose a complementary filter based sensor fusion technique to improve the performance of attitude, altitude and velocity measurement. The triple nested controller has a structure in which a double nested attitude controller that has the angular velocity PD controller in inner loop and the angular PI controller in outer loop, is nested in a velocity control loop to enable stable hovering even in the case of disturbance. We also propose a sensor fusion technique by applying a complementary filter in order to reduce the noise and drift error included in the acceleration and gyro sensor and to measure the velocity by fusing image, gyro, and acceleration sensor. In order to verity the performance, we applied the proposed control and measurement scheme to hovering control of quadrotor.

  • An attitude estimation algorithm which integrates gyroscope and vision measurements using an adaptive complementary filter is proposed in this paper. In order to make the filter more tolerant to vision measurement fault and more robust to system dynamics, fuzzy interpolator is applied. For recognizing the dynamic condition of the system and vision measurement fault, the cut-off frequency of the complementary filter is determined adaptively by using the fuzzy logic with designed membership functions. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by experiments and it is confirmed that proposed algorithm works well in the static or dynamic condition.

  • Neck pain is an extremely common symptom with a variety of potential etiologies. A significant number of patients are turning to complementary and alternative medicine therapies. In particular, chiropractic and osteopathic manipulation techniques are discussed. "Low quality evidence", as per the GRADE system criteria used by the Cochrane Review, supports the beneficial effects of these treatments Complications are generally benign and self-limited although occasional catastrophic consequences have been documented. Medical practitioners should familiarize themselves and their patients with the risks and benefits of complementary and alternative medicine in order to make informed decisions.

  • A complementary VHF CMOS active inductor is described. The proposed circuit employs 'p-type' and 'n-type' active inductor to obtain enlarged signal handling ability. Under the same inductance, Q value, and power consumption, the proposed circuit shows more than 12-㏈ improvement in dynamic range while maintaining high-frequency operation. Further enhancement is obtained by using a fully differential floating inductor structure. A 1-㎓ 4$\^$th/-order coupled-resonator filter is designed to demonstrate the potential of the proposed active inductor.
