Buyer and Supplier Collaboration Strategy for Development and Production in the Korean Auto Industry

  • Purpose - This paper aims to articulate determinants of inter-organizational cooperation based on to the extent to which inter-organizational tasks are related to product development and production processes. Design/Methodology - This research conducted OLS regression analysis based on the data acquired from questionnaire survey in Korean auto industry. Findings - Our analysis has verified that complementary and compatible resources, as well as physical and human asset specificities, positively affect inter-organizational product development cooperation. Conversely, in the production process, only complementary resources positively affect inter-organizational cooperation, whereas compatible resources and physical asset specificity have a negative influence. The changing characteristics of compatible resources (with IT innovations and AI), and physical asset specificity (influenced by a rising need to reduce production costs), cause inter-organizational cooperation in production to decrease. Originality/value - This research attempts to expound upon these determining factors of inter-organizational cooperation by considering both complementary-compatible resources and asset specificity in product development and production simultaneously. The reason why the impact of complementary-compatible resources and asset specificity on inter-organizational cooperation is critical in understanding the determinants of inter-organizational cooperation is that the attributes of complementary-compatible resources and asset specificity in production have changed drastically due to the continuing diffusion of IT innovations and AI (Artificial Intelligence).

  • This paper present an effective complementary filtering method using encoder and gyro sensors for the self-localization(including heading and velocity) of indoor mobile robot. The main idea of the proposed approach is to find the pros and cons of each sensor through a various maneuvering tests and to design of an adaptive complementary filter that works for the entire maneuvering phases. The proposed method is applied to an indoor mobile robot and the performances are verified through extensive experiments.

  • The purpose of this study is on monitoring complementary forest of village according to restoration project. Accordingly, this study was accomplished in case of Dubang complementary forest of village in Wanju-gun which was indicated as beautiful village forest by Korean government. This study describes the restoration project and identifies the change of species diversity and succession through monitoring. For this, vegetational survey was performed in 2003 and 2010. D(Dominant degree) and S(Sociability degree) was measured by Brown-Blanquet's method. The results demonstrate significant increase of species diversity and progress of natural succession. It means ecological structure and function have improved. Also ecological disturbance appears here and there on account of insufficient management.

A 1.5V 70dB 100MHz CMOS Class-AB Complementary Operational Amplifier (1.5V 70dB 100MHz CMOS Class-AB 상보형 연산증폭기의 설계)

  • A 1.5V 70㏈ 100MHz CMOS class-AB complementary operational amplifier is presented. For obtaining the high gain and the high unity gain frequency, the input stage of the amplifier is designed with rail-to-rail complementary differential pairs which are symmetrically parallel-connected with the NMOS and the PMOS differential input pairs, and the output stage is designed to the rail-to-rail class-AB output stage including the elementary shunt stage technique. With this design technique for output stage, the load dependence of the overall open loop gain is improved and the push-pull class-AB current control can be implemented in a simple way. The designed operational amplifier operates perfectly on the complementary mode with 180$^{\circ}$ phase conversion for 1.5V supply voltage, and shows the push-pull class-AB operation. In addition, the amplifier shows the DC open loop gain of 70.4 ㏈ and the unity gain frequency of 102 MHz for $C_{L=10㎊∥}$ $R_{L=1㏁}$ Parallel loads. When the resistive load $R_{L}$ is varied from 1 ㏁ to 1 ㏀, the DC open loop gain of the amplifier decreases by only 2.2 ㏈.a$, the DC open loop gain of the amplifier decreases by only 2.2 dB.

  • Mechanical world view was built by Newton and Decarte approximately 400 years ago. Modern Society has reached at the time for fundamental adjustment and in effect, the paradigm shift is now under way. The new paradigm is the holistic world view that considers the world as the integrated entirety rather than the unity of separated parts. The pluralistic phase which can be considered as general characteristics observed in the art, society and culture in the end of the 20th century is seen as the reflection of this new world view. the complementary relationship between traditionism and modernity and oriental intuitive, holistic approach and western rational analytical approach can be explained when the complementary relationship is recognized with holistic and integrated view. The holistic paradigm and integrated-artistic view are the new aesthetic value which can suggest an alternative for public art of environmental design.

Evolutionary topology optimization of geometrically and materially nonlinear structures under prescribed design load

  • This paper presents topology optimization of geometrically and materially nonlinear structures using a bi-directional evolutionary optimization (BESO) method. To maximum the stiffness of nonlinear structures under prescribed design load, the complementary work is selected as the objective function of the optimization. An optimal design can be obtained by gradually removing inefficient material and adding efficient ones. The proposed method can be applied to a series of geometrically and/or materially nonlinear structures. The results show considerable differences in topologies and stiffness of the optimal designs for linear and nonlinear structures. It is found that the optimal designs for nonlinear structures are much stiffer than those for linear structures when large design loads (which result in significantly nonlinear deformations) are applied.

A Complementary Analysis for the Structural Safety Evaluation of the Spent Nuclear Fuel Disposal Canister for the Pressurized Water Reactor (가압경수로(PWR)용 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조적 안전성 평가 보완 해석)

  • A structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister for the pressurized water reactor(PWR) for about 10,000 years long term deposition at a 500m deep granitic bedrock repository has been developed. However this developed structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister is too heavy to handle without any structural safety problem. Hence a lighter structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister which is easy to handle has been tried to develop very much. One of the reasons which made the structural model heavy is considered to be due to the severe adaptation of the design conditions like external loads and safety factor etc. to the canister design. Hence a complementary analysis to alleviate such severe design conditions is required for the reduction of the canister weight. In this study, a complementary structural analysis for the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister is carried out changing the design conditions such as external loads and safety factors to recalculate the design parameters like diameter and thickness etc. of the canister. The complementary analysis results shows that the diameter of canister can be shortened from 122cm to 102cm to reduce the weight of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister.

  • The Corrugated steel plate structure(CPS) can be applied to construction sites with various purposes, and the merits of CPS such as economical efficiency and swiftness can be utilized when it is constructed properly in consideration of its characteristics. However, in Korea, since the history of corrugated steel plate culvert is relatively short, there are not enough design standards. This research is prepared for finding out the causes through examining and analyzing the problems based on the examples from the existing constructions. Moreover, this study can be utilized in preparing designs and design standards of corrugated steel plate culvert in the future and devising prevention measures and complementary measures by studying construction methods considering features of construction sites and circumstances, several points to be considered while carrying out construction works and prevention measures of a problem with the existing structures.

Low-voltage current-mode filters using complementary current mirrors (상보형 전류미러를 이용한 저전압 전류모드 필터의 설계)

  • In this paper, a design of current-mode continuous-time filters for low voltage and high frequency applictions using complementary bipolar current mirror paris is presented. The proposed current-mode filters consist of simple bipolar current mirrors and capacitors and are quite suitable for monolithic integrtion. Since the design method of the proposed curent-mode filters is based on the integrator type of realization, it can be used for a wide range of applications. And the cutoff frequency of th efilters can be easily changed by the DC cntrolling current. As design examples, the 5th order butterworth filters are designed by cascade and leapfrog methods with tunable cutoff frequencies from 30MHz to 100MHz. The characteristics of the designed current mode filters are simulated and examined by SPICE using standard bipolar transistor parameters.

  • This paper presents a sensor fusion algorithm for the RC helicopter which uses a complementary filter. To measure the attitude angle of the helicopter, 3rate gyroscopes and a 3-axis accelerometer are mounted on the helicopter. The signals from them are passed though a complementary filter to produce estimation outputs. Experiments show that designed system is effective for the attitude estimation.
